We got to visit with several different types of birds before this guy chose us. The owners and staff thoroughly informed us on care and all the things to do to help it be a smooth transition. We got the cage, toys, food, and all at the same place. I don’t even know where to start. I was looking for an all white cockatiel all over the place. Facebook groups, Marketplace, breeders, Craigslist, pet stores all around the Houston area, etc. I was tipped off the ABC Birds having one in a Facebook bird group, and contacted them right away.They were very helpful and even allowed me to purchase her over the phone due to living 45 minutes away. When I went out to see her with the kids to see if it was a good fit, the staff was patient and helpful showing my 4 and 5 year old how to handle her. She still a baby but was already very tame because of the attention they give the birds.When I didn’t find the cage I wanted in stock there they allowed me to keep her there while I waited for one to come in that I ordered. They kept her a week with no complaints or hesitation.When I arrived to take her home, but foods, treats, toys, and other supplies they answered a million questions including ones that had to be annoying being a first time bird owner. Once again they were kind, patient, and understanding. I spent more there on all of these things there than I paid for the bird to spoil her and give her a good home.They offer a 30 day timeframe to let you adjust and bring her back if it doesn’t work out, no questions asked. They obviously care not only about the birds having the right home, but their customers as well. Before leaving they told me to call with any questions, and even asked me to come visit with her sometime so they can she her grow. They offer free shipping for orders over $50, and even though I can get things local at Petco or PetSmart I won’t. I’ll probably pay a bit more vs a big chain store, but my experience there makes me not care one bit.I wish every business had a staff this involved and helpful. I can’t say enough good about them to justify it, but I hope it’s clear enough that you earned a lifelong customer.My kids couldn’t be happier to see her!

Phenomenal owner and loved the availability of bird toys and treats! We are currently evacuated from the hurricane and needed bird seed for our two eclectus parrots. We truly enjoyed the kindness of them. He even offered us a sample bag of organic seed to try out and said he would ship it to us when we got home if they enjoyed it! Our kids enjoyed looking around and choosing toys for our birds! And they had a BEAUTIFUL & SUPER RARE McCaw in their shop. So precious!

Bought my baby here. The staff are friendly and helpful. They will you take care of your bird by telling you how to take care of your baby the best. I went to an avian vet and he said my bird was well cared for. That means a lot to me.

Ive known them for years. I bought my babies from them. No health problems! They are the best by far. Ive been to other places and the people are horrible and almost kn ow nothing about the birds, just trying to make a buck. Barry and Jamie are knowledgeable and truly care about the birds and the people who adopt them. You can always go to them with an issues you may have and they are so willing to help.I did however drive all the way to New Jersey to adopt my salmon crested cockatoo which is hard to find.. she was willing to help me with her even though I did not get Nola from them. Anyone who has something bad or incorrect to say about their facility needs to go to other shops and youll see the difference in service and knowledgeable information.

I felt like they have taken advantage of us . The usual price of a parakeet is $20-$30, they charged $100 for one parakeet and we got 2 of them, just the normal green ones. I don’t trust them anymore, not going there again ! Not good people, taking advantage of people’s love for birds!

We got a yellow belly her name is kindie and she is awsome very well trained and they clip her wings for free and give us disounted food and toys . we are very happy with this place and highly recommend going here if looking to add a bird to ur family. ❤

My favorite bird store in Houston .Jamie has everything you need for your pet bird small or large parrots she has them. And more willing to help than any other pet store Ive ever met or been into. Shes one of the nicest people will do anything to help you be successful at raising your pet bird.

We bought Green Cheek Conuer(pineapple) 6/6/21 we named it Marley Mango. The owners are super sweet and very knowledgeable about all there babys. They helped me pick out the right size home and that came with feed for the month and a toy of Marleys choice. I also get discounts on store items every time I return. I knew I picked the best place when the owner kissed Marley goodbye as he placed him in his new home. Since we got Marley home Ive already taught him to give kisses and now he loves to snuggle up in my hair and on my neck. I m so grateful to have ran into this last a year, I needed an emergency boarding For my umbrella cockatoo, named Bart. I would love to point out that this is the only place I found that has boarding all year long for your birds. My bird was there for almost two months the first time around just enough time for me to get my own place since I was in between places during that time.Several months later I am forced to put him up boarding in the same place again because my dad had gotten sick from covid-19, he needed help at the house with my mom, he got really really sick and was in the hospital for weeks but fortunately he made it. Unfortunately one of his brothers my uncle wasnt so lucky, and to make matters worse my grandma in mexico passed, all in the same two weeks. I went to Mexico, when I got back it had been 3 months that Bart had been up boarding, the nice people there not only got him off his bad habits, he rarely screams anymore, they also were very understanding and helpful about my situation through this rough times and were very generous and kind. Thank you so much ABC birds

I got a quaker from here the other day and hes already the sweetest little bird ever and loves broccoli. They take care of the birds well here I can tell hes very tame. The birds are not as expensive as other places but the supplies etc are kinda expensive compared to online/other stores. Overall I love this place and the man working here lets you meet and interact with the birds which is super cool. 😊 Im glad I came here.EDIT: I have been living with this bird for over a year now and hes my best friend. Im so happy i went here, hes such a happy healthy bird and brings so much life to my house. I highly reccomend this place. 🥰

This place exceeds expectations and thats saying a lot as my expectations are always high regarding the vendors I do buisness with. They are very knowledgeable, welcoming and pleasant to work with. Our Rose Fronted Conure Tico Pete is a wonderfully beautiful, talented and intelligent little bird and we couldnt have asked for a better partner in our avian hobby than ABC Birds. They offer boarding for 5 dollars a day. While their they will our birds feather and if we buy a new toy they take a % off due to the fact that we purchased him from there. We are also getting ready to get Tico an Indian Ring Neck Companion and cant wait to introduce these two little fellows.

Got my cockatiel from here, and hes perfect! I got a cinnamon, and was so surpised that he didnt cost more than the normal colored one they had. He was already used to hands and warmed up to me very quickly, so its obvious that ABC Birds are great breeders. They also feed all the birds pellets, which is great! They also do bird boarding and have bird food in bulk.

Without a doubt professional all the way. We got some tips on looking after African Greys that we never knew.In response to one reviewer, yeah the prices are a bit high, but like the saying goes, you get what you pay for There are so many shady bird breeders out there, found ABC to be the logical obvious choice. My wife had found some Greys for $2800.00+, which is considerably more than ABCs priceThey also offer free wing clips for life, a great value by itself. All around very pleased with our African Grey parrot Gracie Boyd, she has quickly made friends with our grandchildren as seen in the photo. The owner stressed to me, ABSOLUTELY ALL QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED in relation to caring for your bird. Some folks might be timid and think the question is silly, but trust me they dont. Feeding something bad to a bird could be harmful or fatal. All birds have extremely delicate respiratory systems which cannot handle scents very well. Always be on guard, this cannot be emphasised enough! What you may think is a harmless odor could do in your bird.

Got a baby Quaker, the sweetest thing, very tame. We drove 3 hours because of the ratings and it was worth it! Bought a great cage from them, the tray was left behind and they were so nice to mail it to me. Very very happy with our Quaker. Definitely would recommend ♡

I just picked out a new bird and while hes still not yet ready to take home Im over the moon excited! The shop was very well maintained, and James was so helpful. He showed my bf and I multiple birds to help up narrow down what the right one for us may be, all while educating us on some aspects that we didnt know about before. Its so clear they care about the health and happiness of the birds here and Im so excited to pick up my baby pineapple conure! Ill wait patiently at home for now, thank you ABC birds!Update; just picked up my bird, the last few days they have allowed us to visit him and even helped us choose toys just for him! They also went over ALL the paperwork with us to make sure were on the same page. Hes so happy already at home, was comfortable when we put him in the cage, and keeps wanting to get out even on day 1! Hes so friendly and Im just over the moon about my experience with ABC birds! Always a pleasure coming here, they have so many birds and the owners are incredibly sweet and full of information! I feel like family here and look forward to coming in each week whether to visit and try to find my next forever friend or to buy more toys/food for current feathered baby! All of their birds are hand raised/tamed and taken care of! They offer boarding services as well as grooming services too!

Absolutely amazing experience getting our cockatiel. No cages crammed with birds ... all birds had their own space and were much tamer than Ive ever seen. Lord of great bird knowledge and the best care Ive ever seen in a business. Worth the hour drive for us and we will be back for bird supplies. Very glad a friend recommended them to us.

They even have bird boarding services at only $2.50 per day!I bought a yellow-sided turquoise green cheek conure from them and can tell you that I have never experienced a bird with such a love for humans. I come home from work and this bird is begging for time out of her cage. Actually, as I type this review, she is climbing all over me. They even offer behavioral guidance. If your bird has a bad habit, just take it in and they will show you methods of how to fix it.This place is absolutely the best. We purchased my sweet Anna Belle from ABC in February 2016. Someone else had left a deposit on her in October 15 but after they noticed her reaction towards me, they knew she was for me. This is proof the bird chooses the companion, not the other way around. I originally came in from Beaumont looking for a Muloccan Cockatoo and left with my baby Yellow Crested Cockatoo, Anna Belle.Also, we drove in from Beaumont and were running a little late and they accommodated us. The 10% returning customer discount was a surprise too!!! Thank you, ABC Birds!!! You have a customer for life!!!

This bird shop is amazing! The only place to buy birds where I’m from it’s PetSmart and I wanted to buy from a place that knows what they are doing and has time to socialize the birds. I went yesterday and they had Macaws, African Greys, Cocktoos. They even had things as small as parakeets. They have a good location too wasn’t hard to find at all.I went with this amazing yellow sided Green Cheeked conure and I’m honestly already in love waking up to my adorable little bird every morning. It already knew how to step up and bagan to play immediately after going into the cage. I respect that they have to see the cage first before selling you the bird.Thank you for my adorable bird

The owners were very friendly and answered all of our questions. They brought out some birds for us to meet and showed us the proper cages and pellets for the birds. I have to say, Ive been back a few times since the first visit, and I couldnt be more impressed. When we walked in the store, the woman that owns the ABC Birds remembered my family and I. I was amazed by how well they remmember each customer. I did not leave with a bird, as I am aware that my life is to busy for a bird right now .- I will, however, scream it from the mountain tops that this is THE VERY BEST bird store in Houston! They are pricey, not ripping you off like other stores will *cough* (A parrots cove) *cough*.
