Bassem was able to come next day to work on our dryer. He also checked in on our refrigerator and recommended changing the shelving before we started expensive repairs. We have found him to be honest, hard working, and willing to give good advice even if it means less money for him. Highly recommend!

Excellent service. When refrigerator stopped working, Modern Appliance sent someone out the same day. Quickly diagnosing the problem, they returned the next day and had the refrigerator working like new. AND they wore masks the entire time they were in the house.

I have used this company several times for my personal home and the results are always quick and efficient. No need for multiple trips to the home. It gets fixed right the first time! I also refer this business to my clients and have always heard good reviews from them. Highly recommend!

Bassem is an amazing business owner, he definitely knows how to run a business. Its great that he is a local, he is great with customer service and really knows how to take care of his customers. He has repaired kitchen appliances, dryer/washers and garbage disposals plus a few other things for us and some of our clients that we referred him to. Once you use Modern Appliance Repair, youll use them for life! He is honest on if you need to repair it or if its just better to replace it. He is really affordable compared to most. You wont regret using him!

Bassem Lambert is awesome. He fixes everything I break. He responds right away. I have never had to wait for a return call or appointment. Fair, honest, skilled professional. I highly recommend Bassem Lambert and Modern Appliance Repair. I don’t usually post reviews but when service is this good it absolutely deserves recognition. I’d give 10 stars if Google let me. The owner showed up to fix our LG washing machine and Whirlpool fridge. He fixed both and educated us on things to do to avoid needing him in the future. Very reasonable prices and super personable guy. The bad reviews on here seem related to warranty issues. Dont see how thats his fault. I will definitely use Modern Appliance for any future issues. Young business owner working beyond normal hours and I appreciate it. Could not be more impressed with the customer service. Same day service. Awesome!

I called Modern Appliance to help with my fridge that went out. Its a GE Profile bottom freezer model. He came out the same day I called and even called when he was on his way. He was pleasant and professional and fast. My repair required a replacement part which he had available the next day. He came, installed it quickly and returned me to service. I would recommend Modern Appliance.

They got me scheduled super quickly for a repair of my Samsung dryer. We had a recurring problem with our dryer that other companies had repaired before. Modern Appliance Repair came, and made some great recommendations which solved other issues I did not even realize. FANTASTIC, reliable, excellent customer service.

I would definitely NOT recommend this company. Our washer recently broke and Sears sent a technician from this company out to look at it. Not only was he very unprofessional, but he never turned the washer on to listen to the sound it was making, he never looked underneath the washer to see if anything was broke, and he never tried to run a wash to see what I was complaining about. He was here about six minutes and told me that Sears was not going to cover it because of rust. (There was no rust by the way.) He left saying he would contact me within a couple hours. I had to reach out to him the next day and received a three word reply with no explanation or estimate. Sears told me he sent in a report stating my washer was outside. (It is in an enclosed laundry room.) I contacted Sears and had them send out an actual Sears technician who came out yesterday. He took apart the washer, and realized the rotor was bad. He also laughed when I told him about the “rust” and said even if there had been rust, Sears would have still covered it because rust would have never caused the issue I was having. They are coming out to replace the parts and Sears is honoring my warranty. I am very unimpressed with the professionalism of this company, and the lack of effort put into trying to find out what the problem was. This company told me it was my control panel. By the way, the control panel was completely fine. Don’t waste your time or money with Modern Appliance Repair. They definitely do not put their customers first.***EDITED UPDATE in regards to response from owner***Your entire reply in regards to Sears not honoring it, is a complete lie. Sears did honor it. First off, Sears read your technicians report to me.Lie#1. My washer was outside. (It is not)Lie#2. My washer is rusted. (It is not)Lie#3. Your technician sent pictures of my washer to Sears. (No, your technician did not.)Lie#4. My control panel is broke. (Definitely was not the control panel.)Had your technician actually took the time to access the problem, you may have looked like a company that actually knows what you’re doing. Instead, you send a reply that looks like it’s wasn’t your fault and you have to follow Sears regulations. Had that been the case, you would have known that Sears would have honored it and you could have serviced my problem. Which actually would have caused more damage because you thought it was the control panel, but it was actually a simple roter. In the future, it would help your company tremendously if you just told people the truth.

It made me give 1 star otherwise they would receive none. A simple phone call would have fixed this review. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. We are a medical facility that uses the dishwasher for sterilization and have a broken appliance. First: No phone calls can be made to schedule a repair. Seriously?? Email only?? After asking what time they would come out, received no reply. Then an hour and 15 min prior to closing I check my email and they are wanting the physical address. Gave it to him, and received an email right back tell us that they were not able to come out to our company due to events in the area. Meanwhile - we sit with a broken appliance we had to wait 24 hours for repair only to be told VIA EMAIL - that is not checked on a minute basis - that they are unable to come out. A simple CUSTOMER COURTESY phone call IN THE MORNING OF THE APPOINTMENT would have been welcome.

After a different company failed to show up for a confirmed appointment, I called Modern Appliance Repair, and was thrilled get an appointment within an hour! He showed up as promised, politely and professional diagnosed and repaired the problem very quickly, then handled all the follow-up and billing with excellence. I will DEFINITELY call Mr Lambert for my next appliance repair issue. I was very pleased with his customer service and expertise from start to finish!

Called Modern Appliance Repair with a problem we were having with our Maytag oven, they came out the same day and identified the problem. They had to order a part which came in the next day, Modern called and said they could install the part at our convenience which was within the hour. Very quick, very professional!!

Weve had a great experience with Modern Appliance Repair. Both our wash machine and refrigerator broke and needed immediate repair. I received a prompt call back and same day service to fix the issues. We will definitely be calling Modern Appliance when needed in the future.

After one day of calling in to tell me hes ordering a part to fix my washing machine instead of coming in as scheduled, another no call no show our repairman finally comes, installs a part for a problem he never diagnosed and then leaves without so much as plugging it back in to check that it worked. As my rating implies it did not, and the technician was very rude and suggested it was not his job to plug it back in. Didnt check his work = didnt do his job. Avoid.

This is the worst company EVER!!!!!!!!This company sold us a washer and dryer for a good price but had I known the trouble we would through I would have never had purchased anything. The man set up the dryer and left. The dryer would not even turn on. He conveniently went out of town and i had to wait for over a week for him to come back and then he never showed. I spent over a month trying to get him to fix it. When he finally came back and fixed the heating coil that he knocked loose moving it which had he tested it before he left he would have known it was loose. He finally came back and adjusted the coil. It still then did not heat and it would take us 3x to dry one load of clothes. Our power bill sky rocketed. When he finally came back out he YELLED AND Screamed at us In our own home and tried to charge us to fix it even though its supposedly under warranty. This man chastised us like children In our own home. Do not ever buy from this company! Its worth the extra money to buy from a reliable company. UsersBEWARE!

We used this company through a warranty we have with sears. We had our dishwasher 6 months and it just stopped working. He came out and said there was not electricity getting to the dishwasher and it might be the switch. We had a electrician come out and said it was fine. We had a sears technician come out and he said it was the front panel and ordered one. Sticking with sears technicians for now on.

My boss called this company for a service call scheduled for yesterday more than two days ago, technician no call no show. Called and left a message still have not received a return call. We are a very busy practice in lake norman and have to have our washer to maintain a clean environment. It is very unprofessional to not show up at a scheduled appointment and not call. Would recommend if you want your appliance fixed in a timely manner to not use this company.

I do not recommend this company at all. The only reason I gave them 1 star is that you are forced by google in order to leave a review. They need to have a negative stars category as an option. The tech that came out was very unprofessional and he lied. Our 9 month old Kenmore microwave caught on fire and he walk in and asked if we had put foil in there and I told him no and then he asked if we had popped popcorn and I told him not lately and she said that sometimes they leave metal shaving when they cut the bag. We were forced to use this company because they are subcontracted through Sears. He called Sears and said that it was damaged from improper use. He lied so now Sears will not cover the microwave. He did not inspect or do a diagnostic test on the microwave. I would not recommend this company to anyone and I will be filing a complaint with the BBB also. The tech was rude and unprofessional. This company is not a reliable company and I would not recommend or use again. I was reading some of the other reviews listed here and the response from the owners to the customer complaints is just as unprofessional as the staff. This company is not trustworthy, professional, or reliable. If you are using this company on behalf of a warranty provider, you should also contact them and complain.

Scheduled through Home Depot. I am self-employed and had to give up four hours of my day. Explained my service needs to HD 72 hours ahead of time. Per Home Depot‘s email, I was supposed to receive a follow up call 1 to 2 business days prior to the appt. I did not. Had to call both Home Depot and this company the morning of the appointment, spending a full hour chasing answers.The person who returned my phone call from Modern was very short, if not rude. He would not give me time to explain what I needed. He Continuously cut me off, telling me he didn’t have time to talk to me, but he was calling me back since I left him a message. So, I wasted four hours of my workday, and had to have Home Depot schedule me with somebody else later in the day. If I could take money out of this person‘s pocket so they could see how their neglect and bad customer service cost me money, I would. All that I can do is let other people know what a crappy customer service experience I had from this person.

Absolutely useless company, no customer service and basically called me a liar. This was a Home Depot extended warranty service so unfortunately I am forced to deal with their lack of service. The day someone was supposed to come diagnose my washer but all I got was a phone call where I was told it sounds like a lid lock issue and they would order a new lock. The day the man said the part would be in Wednesday and someone would be out Thursday to install it but no one came. I called and was told the part wasnt in and it would be Monday before anyone could come. The repairman showed up outside of the time I was told but did install the part. My husband did tell him he would push it back into place thinking it had been checked and worked properly. Rather than insuring the washer worked the man had left. When I called telling him it still didnt work and that no one checked it he tells me that, that didnt happen. That had it been in the proper place and hooked up he would have checked it. (It was pulled out enough to make access to the back panel easier ) He said the conversation about pushing it back in never happened. So, Im a liar? He said they do not install but only repair. Plugging in and testing now falls under installation?? He refused to talk to me further and said to have my husband call him to work on recalibrate it. Unreal!! Incredibly rude and absolutely, completely useless. So 3 days off have now been wasted due to their negligence. Do NOT use these people or you will only be out your money and still stuck with a broken appliance after huge hassle and headache. Avoid at all costs!!Edited update:After more contact they have now stated that they will not be assisting us further with our washer due to this review!!

We had our first experience. Called and got an appt. for the same day. Arrived within the time frame and diagnosed the problem. Parts are on order and should be here tomorrow. Ill follow up and let you know if the repair is completed and then a week later to be sure it worked long term.

Had to use them thru Home Depot extended warranty. I do not recommend them. The ice keeps freezing on itself and the shoot gets stuck full of ice, and he said, that is a design issue and I need to live with that. I do not think so!!!

They were a 3rd party referral from Sears Appliance, so unfortunately I had to use them! They came out to service our refrigerator on April 8th and said they had to order the part. 2 weeks later I call to check on the part and no answer. I left a voicemail multiple times and even had Sears call them to ask them to call me. Their response was they arent going to call me when they didnt have an answer (meaning, it has been 2 weeks and supposedly the part is still not in). The customer service is terrible and the length of time to get a part in is even worse. I do not recommend this company and will never use them again. All of our food had to be thrown out because of empty promises and negligence.

June 5, 2013These people never showed, never returned our calls. We are VERY unhappy and dissatisfied. We will tell our friends to NEVER call this company and we will make sure Lowes, who scheduled the appointment knows of this problem and to NOT use them in the future.
