He immediately assisted me, checked out And resolved the issue and proactively checked oil levels. Turns out I definitely needed an oil change too. The service was not only thorough but fast. I been to this location a few times and the store service has been great and the staff greeted me on every occasion. I gave 4 stars because of their greeting and acknowledgment of customers.The auto service department hasnt been as consistent in regards to non operational screws have not been replaced at times -- Nothing dangerous but just an inconvenience to replace them. My experience examples are an engine air filter screws missing and a cap for my radiator fluid reserver was not put back on(hasnt found a replacement yet). Its small but impactful when it comes to details of working on peoples vehicle.
I took my car in because my radiator wasn’t working. So that’s what I was told from them. JUST TO REPLACE MY CAR RADIATOR WAS $1,700. Keep in mind I am not very knowledgeable about cars. I have two kids depending on my. So I said okay it’s a lot but I need my car to get around with my kids. They took all day to fix it. The front of my car is NOT aligned and they cut off the engine splash shield. They said it was broken because of my driving. I have never felt so taken advantage of. Because I’m a woman and knowledgeable about cars. I felt since it was a “respectable pep boys” I can trust them. I was so wrong.

Hello, my husband Óscar Amaya took our truck Ford expedition 2003 for a full tune up To pep boys at Huntington park ca . 2-3 weeks ago . Today 04/10/2021 our car was smoking so much it on the free way the oil pressure was low that our car completely shut down the car over heated and bc of the heat it made the water holes to explode. The truck never at any moment leaked while having it . We paid 700 something dollars for no work to be done I’m very disappointed. Dont take your car here. They dont do the job you ask them to do. And if they do they will take their sweet as time so they can get paid the most. Levi is a big a hole too. He isnt so much of a manager if he cant even manage.

I went there for a battery replacement. I got one for an affordable price with warranty. It was pretty quick. The staff was friendly and helpful.
So my quote was $140 I came in excited and ready to change my head bulb.I made the mistake of telling them that its the left side that needed to be changed when it was the right side.But I just expected a little more customer service to be told that the left one is perfectly fine cause Im sure they noticed that the right side was discolored from the rest. I guess I have high expectations but I at least didnt get back my perfectly good head bulb back. And I left paying $260 which was well over what I was quoted prior.

I had to get an oil change for a rental car at the very last minute in order to continue to rent the vehicle. My husband and I had already purchased the oil and filter but just havent had enough time to get it started.I had called Jiffy Lube to see if I had to make an appointment. I was told that there was no wait and to come in no later than 7pm for service since they close at 8pm. I arrived at 705 pm, a little late only because I had missed the location. When I called to verify the location, I had advised them that I was at the place but their lights were all turned off and thats probably why I missed them . They told me they closed at 7pm. I was totally out upset.So I called Pep Boys in Hollywood, they were totally booked. They referred me to Fernando in Huntington Park. They close at 9pm, and I didnt arrive until 843pm. At 858pm, I was told my vehicle was ready. Pep Boys change the oil, the filter, and was able to reset the check engine light within 15 mins.Total hands down....I was in and out the door in no time. Fernando, the store manager...YOU totally rock! You and your crew are totally without a doubt ....out of this World! 👍

There probably greet you nice when arriving at the store but the waiting time is always a lie . They say 1 hour is more like 4 hours. They can just say is going to be a long wait and let me decide if I want to wait or not, dont just lie.To top it off they where about to let me drive off with nails in my tire which they where aware,cause they told me about them . Obviously safety of there customers is not in their priority list Is they where letting me drive off with nails in my tire.
Took over an hour because there was only one mechanic. The others were out for lunch but I was asked it this was okay. I had no problem waiting. Nice people.
Took my 2017 Honda Civic for an oil change and tire rotation. Had a $20 coupon. Made an online appointment for Mobile 1 synthetic oil change. 1 hour and 10 minutes later it was ready, but when I looked at the receipt they used Pennzoil synthetic instead. I showed the service clerk the work order which showed Mobile 1. She said it was basically the same thing but when I wouldnt budge she called someone else on the phone and he told her to replace the oil. 20 minutes later my car was ready. They were supposed to rotate the tires but when I asked her if they did she said they dont rotate the tires if theyre wearing evenly which sounds like a crock. The price was right and theyre walking distance to my house so Ill probably be back but Ill have to be clear up front of what service I expect.Update 06/07/2018Got a response from Pep Boys. Asked if I wanted to file a complaint. I did. I got a call the next morning from Carlos, the assistant manager. He apologized and said to take my car in for a tire rotation at my convenience. He also said that he reviewed the video and that the mechanic did drain the Pennzoil and installed Mobile 1 (I mentioned in my complaint that I wasnt 100 per cent sure if the oil had been replaced).I took my car in later that day and they put my car on the lift right away and did the tire rotation. He apologized again and they had my car ready fairly quickly.I give credit to Pep Boys Corp. for listening to customer grievances and responding quickly. Very satisfied.

The guys from the parts department were extremely helpful... this review doesn’t apply to them. We had a bad experience with the service department, “changing a headlight is not as easy as you think” is what I was told when I asked CARLOS from the service department if they could please do it once I purchased the part. He said I’d have to come back in three hours because that’s their process... interesting because when I went the week prior they took care of it on the spot. I canceled the purchase, I refuse to spend my money in an establishment that takes that condescending tone when I was politely asking since they changed it the last time I was there. Smh...

Went here for an engine rebuild on my Subaru, which I should have known was a bad idea to start. I was assured the mechanic knew what he was doing, but highly doubtful it after getting my car back after 3 months in the shop! After getting it back things were still messed up, missing bracket for my AC, engine still burning oil, crimped power steering hose, I feel like Im finding something else missed every day. Lesson to be learned here, avoid this place for anything major.

BAD SERVICE, THEY MENTION FREE TIRE ROTATION WITH OIL CHANGE. THEY DID NOT DO IT, I ASKED THE GUY 3 TIMES ABOUT THE ROTATION, AND HE LIED 3 TIMES THAT THEY HAD DONE THE ROTATION. I CAME BACK TO ASKED WHY THEY WERE NOT ROTATED AND OTHER GUY TOLD ME THEY DONT DO IT IF THEY THINK IS NOT NECESSARY. BUT WHY LIE ABOUT IT.APPOINTMENT? DONT EVEN BOTHER. THEY WILL MAKE YOU WAIT UNTIL THERE IS ROOM TO WORK ON YOUR CAR.BAD SERVICE, RESTROOM FILTHY. NOT COMING BACK.
This location needs a bit of work on professionalism. No one was rude or disrespectful but if Im going to you for a service, I dont need to see you half undressed, keep the uniforms on please. Went in to get my tire sensor checked and waited quite a bit as they seemed to have been understaffed or during shift changes.
Staff knows their stuff, great selection. Asked about my leaking gasket and instead of selling me one was told I could leave the car for the mechanic to take a look at it instead in the morning when he got in, And if I had no time there was a shop close by that may or may not be open at the time. Who does that, Turns to another business? I just goes to show that some places do just care about getting you the help you need and about getting the money out of your pocket.

Went to buy a wheel stud and nut. Was given the wrong item by the parts department. Went back to exchange, checked online and the part # they sold me was not the same as online, it had to be ordered. Guess upc #/ item # dont matter to them. Asked for refund instead. I went to Auto Zone, they gave me the correct part and had it in stock. Wont be purchasing parts there ever again.
Went in to see why my car was shutting off when driving it. Once mechanic saw it, they quoted me $500+ to fix it. Although it seemed over priced, I did not mind. What I did mind, is that once I got a second opinion as to why my car was shutting off, the problem was none of the items that they were charging me for! I went to the second mechanic, paid about $120 total, and fixed the issue that the pepboy mechanic couldnt find to begin with. I still got charged for them to look into my car, almost $100 down the drain! Definitely do not recommend.
This place is a joke, I made an appointment to get an AC inspection, when I got there I was told that their technician wasnt available so I rescheduled my appointment to a day that they assure me he was going be there, but again the technician wasnt available, this is not a serious place they just wasted my time twice.
I bought 3 batteries for my all of 3 cars and they gave out and it seems they can’t find the warranty in there computers. Don’t buy a car battery Bosh brand

Came to get tires repaired, alignment, and rotation. Everyone rates this place as bad but aside from waiting so long, like 2 and a half hours, everyone was nice and helpful. Id go back again...but def would make sure to make plans to be picked up since they make you wait.

I waited for over 4 hours for an alignment check, not even an actual alignment. Was told that I was next in line, which turned out not to be true. Typically, when there is going to be a delay I am told and just come back for the vehicle. They kept making it seem like the wait wouldnt be too long. There is no coffee or water in the waiting area, so waiting is miserable unless repairs are relatively quick. It also seemed like some people got in and out who got there after me. I am very disappointed.

Had a horrible experience, I took my car to get serviced yesterday. They told me the tire rotation is free with the oil change. It took them 3 hours and when I picked it up, I asked them if they did the rotation, the person said ofcourse. Well turns out that they didnt do the rotation after all. I called them and they said it would be an hour wait, I told them If I could make an appoinment for later they said no. After I asked to talk to a manager then they said they could squeeze me in. I did not go because I did not want to go waste time with them for something they should have done in those 3 hrs they had me waiting. I dont even know if they changed the oil like they said they did. Dont trust them, its a waste of money and time.

Service Staff is friendly BUT they have to follow the rules in offering services you dont need when you come in for something you know is wrong with your car but may not have tools, or time. Example, thermostat is busted but its hell to do it, the service manager offers to do a dianogstic .
Made an apt on phone. Arrived ahead of apt. After a half hour I checked and found they had not even put car in bay yet. When I asked I was told that he told me when making apt that he would squeeze me in. Not how I remember it. They are supposed to have a 30 minute guarantee. But he did not put a time on the work order.
+2 star. Average place with nice cute service advisor. I love the alignment of my car, and my new kicks. FAST ACCURATE ALIGNMENTS! (Average isnt bad)-1 star for the additional damages to my back bumper (I was gonna replace it once it broke completely, and that just so happened here, so I had to buy one) Did you push it up the rails from the bumper? I dont mind, just you know... Let a guy know so that the bumper doesnt drag on the floor after driving away from location. Thanks for the motivation to finish fixing the bumper, although it was still functional. Lol.-1 star for saying, just come in, you dont need an appointment. And then giving me an appointment for the next day after showing up to the service shop because yeah, understaffed.-1 star for giving me a false reading that would have cost $75 dollars + time. (Its only going to cost me time at the service location, which is ok with me, but still, someone else might have issues with something like this.)+1 stars for the discounts on the services provided and the discount on a purchased item. 😎 I would probably come again, but keep a closer eye on the small things that can be damaged.Note to others, if they start with, hey did you damage X part of the car recently? Too expenisive & they lied about the amount right when i was leaving my car.. they gave me an estimate of $35 when they were finished.. i ended up paying $300!!!! That was so unprofessional ! They still fixed my car which wasnt a big deal to fix ... but these ppl just want to tax you on money.. never again

Worst service i have ever experienced. I took my vehicle to diagnose the check engine light and what they told me didnt not add up.they said they had to do more diagnosis to find the problem and that it would be around $700 just to find out whats the problem. I knew something was fishing, so i took my car to a local mechanic and found out that it would be $200 to fix my car completely! Im never going back to pep boys and i advice anyone thats thinking of going there to not go.

First of all I came in for a simple alignment because my mechanic said I needed one so I kindly asked for an alignment because I have the lifetime alignment program with them that I paid for and this idiot asked me. How do you know you need an alignment? And when I told her she said You dont need an alignment you need new tires when I just bought some pretty expensive brand new continental tires from them 3 weeks ago. This really pissed me off but I kept my cool and I said I just wanted the alignment but she refused to service me and said I needed to go to a different location where they had me on file so asked to speak to another representative and he told me the same thing. So now instead of listening to these idiots I decided to call the service manager in Downey on my cell phone and he really helped me out and apologized for everything and said these workers were very unprofessional and he spoke to them and cleared everything up but it still took them 5 hours to finish servicing my car even though I had an appointment which is ridiculous! I am extremely disappointed and will never recomend this location to anybody. They did a bad job and these workers are idiots and the other people waiting for their cars had the same problem I would never ever trust them again with my car. I recommend going to any other location like in Downey where they really take care of you.

Went for a scheduled maintenance of oil change, tire rotation and reset of both oil change & tire rotation indicators. First, they used the wrong oil of 0w20 when the manual says between 5w30 & 10w40. Second, they didnt do the tire rotation at all so that indicator is still on. Third, the guy who parked my car had sneezed on my steering wheel without telling me a thing. Last time Im going to that Pepboys.
