My 1st time using Oakwood Car Care and the experience was great! Mike did a great job aligning our Jeep Gladiators wheels and axles after a lift. He communicated the entire time and suggested some quick fixes that made it drive much better. Will definitely use again!

I visited Oakwood Car Care on Tuesday morning because I was getting a service code on my Honda Pilot that was telling me I needed to replace my rear differential fluid. My car also wouldn’t start normally. It required a jumpstart to get to Oakwood Car Center. I am a little over a year into my lease and the car just surpassed 10,000 miles. Joe encouraged me to take my car to Honda rather than have him do an oil change and replace the rear differential fluid because he said I shouldn’t need to replace the rear differential fluid so soon. I took his advice and Honda replaced my battery, which was causing the service code in the first place. Thanks to Joe, I didn’t pay for a service I didn’t need. Some mechanics might have just done as I asked without warning me that the code could be wrong and that I shouldn’t need that particular service so soon. But Joe didn’t. To me, that’s a sign of a person with good character. Thank you for your help, Joe.

I trust NO One else when it comes to servicing my 1963 Thunderbird. Mike and Joe are pros and know the ins and outs when it comes to any repairs needed. They have worked on the suspension, engine, cooling system and more. A+

I have been going to Oakwood for over twenty years. They are by far the best auto repair shop anywhere. They are honest, do what they say they are going to do, and do it on time. Joe I consider more than a repair shop owner. I feel like he is a member of the family because he and Oakwood care so much.

I had got my suv inspected and diagnosed. Someone reported the mileage wrong (70,620) and it was 60,620. So when I went to the actual dealer they told me it was a clerical error obviously and to go back to the establishment. I did and mike did not want to call the dealer personally. I called the dealer on speaker and mike was rather nasty. He said he wasn’t fixing it. On my car fax it clearly stated mileage reported from oakwood care center. Mike faced the dealer the invoice but the fact he didn’t want to fix someone’s error made at his place of business is unprofessional.

Amazing customer service! I called yesterday for an appointment for a oil change/maintenance routine check and was able to get one the next day! I was in & out in 30 minutes! I definitely recommend this shop if you’re looking for reliable service & a place that honors your appointment time slot! These guys are the absolute best. Anytime I cant fix my truck, they figure out the issue and fix it quickly, at a pretty reasonable price.

I took my car to the Oakwood Car Care shop on Park Avenue (now replaced with a Subway) and had the ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE. I had curbed my car pretty seriously and needed a new control arm, wheel bearings and a reshaping of my front right rim. Everything looked great after completion, except they were never able to realign my steering (even though they said it was aligned perfectly, however I could deal with it). Long story short, three months down the line and $2000 dollars poorer, I ended up having to get all the parts replaced AGAIN by a proper mechanic. Turns out they never actually reshaped my rim, just polished it to make it look pretty. Never go here.

I travel from Queens for service for my cars. That should tell you that I find Oakwood reliable. Joe, the owner, and Mike, the manager, are easy to talk to and are very knowledgable in the automotive field.Oakwood has two shops, one on E.Polaski and the primary shop on the corner of Park Ave and Broadway. Both shops are easily seen from traffic. The parking areas are small, so call ahead for an appointment. The entrances are regular doorways.. There is handicap parking at the Park Ave site.They have a website that lists hours, however you can drop off your vehicle before working hours. The Huntington train station is about a mile west of the Park Ave site and about 2 mile north of the Polaski Ave site.Neither site is exactly child friendly and the waiting room is small so leave kids at home.

I recently visited oakwood care care on the recommendation of a friend. Needless to say I was very disappointed. I have several vehicles and am in the auto business and can tell you that this shop is subpar. I called originally and spoke to someone about an alignment and inspection. Told him the vehicle needed some front end work including a front spring and if it did not effect inspection to perform it. I dropped the vehicle off around 11:30 and had not heard anything by 4:30. So I called. Spoke to mike and he said stop down we will talk about the vehicle. I was expecting a call but had to call them. I arrive to find none of the work performed and a bill for an inspection with s fail result for a cracked front spring and a small crack in passenger side of windshield. Considering I told him the vehicle needed a front spring and you could see the crack in the windshield why would you try to inspect the vehicle. Shops do that for a quick buck and a scam. Also the alignment he could not perform due to cracked sting. I mentioned all of this on the phone booking the appointment then when I spoke to Mike. Bottom line at the labor rates they charge their are far better shops in the area with better customer service. This shop is a basic tire shop not a diagnostic and technical shop. Big waste of time and unfriendly staff.

Very rarely do you feel confident that your car is being taken care of and youre not being charged an arm and a leg. Joe, the owner, is a solid guy and I always leave there feeling as if I paid a great price and received quality service.
