We love our new seating u. Owner came and surveyed the project. He also figured out how to remove the seats. The boat was built after the seats were installed. The turn around time was excellent-faster then expected. All work is top notch & cost was reasonable. I highly recommend this business.

I am very reluctant to post bad reviews, but i have run out of patience. I have had a horrible experience with this vendor. Bought winter cover in 2019. Didnt fit correctly. Many calls. Then dropped it back to them in August 2020. They took measurements of the boat. Waited and waited for the corrections. Finally, they got it to me in mid-November. Well, it fits, poorly. Emails. Calls. No response. Avoid this vendor.

I have used this company for over 20 years and highly recommend the quality of their work. Steve goes out of his way to make sure the customer is happy with the product. Right now I am in Italy and will order my custom curtains only from Steve. He has done all the upholstery and canvas on my 43 foot sailboat including a cockpit enclosure. I highly recommend this company for any interior or exterior decorating for your boat.

March 2019 initiated agreement to remake a C34 dodger, Bimini, connector and wheel cover. The results were were a great fit on all pieces with some realignment of snaps. I was very pleased with pre and post sale experience. Highly recommend The Canvas Store.

I can’t say enough good things about Steve and the Canvas Store. I bought my winter cover for my Beneteau 423 in 2004. 15 years later, it still works great. I had Steve make some minor repairs in August and it’s as good as new. The material and workmanship are outstanding.Fred, Westport CT

Needed a bimini made for my grady white, it came out great and the price was affordable. Turnaround time was also quicker then expected. I would recommend to anyone needing canvas repair.

I gave two stars because the staff bent over backwards to meet my timeframe to get me my bimini before leaving for the Bahamas, however Steve, I assume the owner, does everything to avoid me after the sale. If you are looking for a custom canvas and are not local to this shop AVOID this place. I voiced my concern to Steve before the sale that how could you make a custom canvas from afar. Steve says they do it all the time, have a template for my boat, and any tweaks will be taken care of after it is installed, just mark it up and send it back and theyll take care of it. Well, its been over a month that Ive been trying to get Steve to return my calls, and emails, and correct, really just some minor adjustments. Im done with him. Ill get the adjustments done locally.

Steve McGovern is who I spoke to on the phone. I told him what the boat was, the size and that it was a decked out bass boat. He goes well I need to see the boat. I said ok, well it’s a freshwater bass boat and is 18 feet long and decked out where there is no console, so just a rough estimate would it be like $3,000 or maybe closer to a $1,000. This is his exact response word for word, “how much do you think my salary is a year, your question is almost as ridiculous as that.” I was flabbergasted. I couldn’t have been nicer to the guy on the phone. Before I got off I told him I was going to give him this review. I was ready to bring the boat down to him today too, so sad. Just to update this review 10 minutes later I called another store and they were super nice and gave me a rough estimate and I booked an appointment with them

Worst experience I have had with a professional in my life. The office staff was pleasant but incompetent. The owner came to my measure my boat then called back because he couldnt read his notes then made a top that didnt fit my boat. He came back out to see the boat and made changes none of which were correct or solved the problems. I finally took it to a local sail maker who straightened out the problem. I was impressed that the owner would come to measure my boat for a custom fit. But it obviously served no purpose. Such a shame. Nice heavy material, good zippers but the attention to getting it right just isnt there.

I tossed Steve a real challenge--put together a dodger that I saw on you tube for my Beneteau 46. He came through with flying colors--and improved the original design tremendously. On time and consistently available for fine tuning, I was very impressed. When I then wanted to zip in Solbian solar panels onto the top of my bimini--no problem and the install works flawlessly. We also used The Canvas Store for custom covers for our berths and redid the entire interior cushions with a totally different design than stock. Again, excellent work and the look is fantastic.

Excellent canvas shop. Theyve done full canvas (dodger, bimini, cockpit cushions, etc) on two of our boats - a Beneteau 411 and Jeanneau SO49. Theyve made our winter covers and do all the repairs we need. Just had them replace the dodger windows with Makrolon and they came out great. Crystal clear. They do quality work and stand behind it.
