This place can do it all. Trust me. Anything and everything you get here will be good. Owners are really good people. The breakfasts are out of this world. The burgers are delicious.Ordered a regular cheeseburger deluxe with disco fries( mozzarella and gravy). Burger came out perfect. The onion rings that come with the burger are a nice little prize with your burger. Disco fries were super tasty and crispy with loads of gravy.The meat quality on the burger man. YouJust try it.Also tried the grilled chicken bean salad with veggies. Wow. Super Keto meal. Super tasty.Try the desserts here you will not be disappointed with their huge portions. A+++

The food is delicious, and the staff is friendly. Our waitress was very attentive when we visited, and the food always tastes fresh when we order takeout.
I came here just to get a slice of the cheesecake. One of the best cheesecakes that I have tried in NYC. The only thing was the coffee wasnt very good. It was warm and kinda tasted low budget. Service was great. Try the cheesecake if you go. I got the original.
We called to ask if they had gluten-free foods and they said yes so we went and waited 10 mins for a table. Once sat the waiter told us that no, their only options that are gluten-free are salads or eggs. They obviously told us they had gluten-free things just to get us in the door. So ridiculous. How hard is it to buy a loaf of gluten-free bread to make toast, sandwiches, or french toast? Will not be back.
As far as diners go… This is probably the best one I’ve ever been to. Very conveniently located near the LIE, great spot to get away from traffic for a quick delicious meal.

Used to be our favorite diner, but since covid this place has changed. They have limited their menu, and stopped serving a free dinner salad with entrees. We had 3 dinner specials and they all had no seasoning or flavor. The vibe is muted there now and it is not a welcoming experience. Plus, the prices are equal to any fine dining restaurant in town. I will say that the portions are still large though. Will miss going there.
I normally go for breakfast during a week day. I dont order anything crazy, just the normal stuff, like pancakes, French toast, turkey bacon, decaf coffee things like that. But this past Saturday I order cornbeef hash and home fries. Didnt like it at all, it didnt even look good. I feel like the chef is different on the weekend, so I will continue going on the week day. Everyone is pleasant, its clean and they have paper towels that you can open the bathroom doors with, with a receptacle outside the door, which I appreciate so very much🙂. So dont go on Saturday or dont oder the cornbeef hash, other than that you should go 🥰
Food is standard diner food. Its pretty good depending on your expectations. Staff is usually very nice and friendly too, esp the older gentleman behind the bar/counter. The owner is nice too, but his wife is a piece of work. Try to avoid her if you can. I feel bad for the young waitress/hostess that work here. Pretty much the reason I wont be coming back.
The best hamburger I ever ate! This is the way it was in the 60’s! Fresh, Juicy, and cooked to order. The fries were crisp and delicious! Very safe to dine in all staff wear masks and seats are 6 ft apart. The waiter was very nice too. During the pandemic, it’s a perfect place to dine and take the kids.
I tend to go in with preconceived notions of what diners provide (too many items, greasy, and low on quality). But I was pleasantly surprised with Dix Hills Diner as they truly cater to and really understand the demographics of their clientele. Everything was fresh, plentiful, and nicely assembled. Their salads were huge loaded up with toppings (see photo). Upon scanning neighboring tables, items ordered were enjoyed by all, one enormous plate at a time. Late afternoon, after the lunch rush, the place was still crowded. Make sure to check out the lunch specials flyer for it was THE Deal! Soup, main, & ANY dessert, very reasonable at around $12/$13, depending on whats ordered. AND About desserts...make sure you canvas the selections, some look outrageous, & most are a cheesecake base. Take note of the rainbow cookie cheesecake, it was the bomb. The waitstaff were all very pleasant, tons of booths, and upon paying at the front cashier, snag a treat, another generous offering!

Food is good but nickel and dime you. Never said there was an up charge for substitute baked potato for fries. Asked about this. The answer was “we went bankrupt and tell our waitstaff not to say anything”. Nasty and rude. Never go there
Its a regular standard diner that forgot its a diner and not high end restaurant. The prices are higher then average and the food is average. I ordered the veggie burger with avacoda . the onion rings were cold and the french fries over cooked . The burger was ok. Other diners have a better deal on there veggie burger deluxe

Lovely little diner with an amazing staff! The place is also very clean and cozy. This is my go-to spot and the food never fails to disappoint. I really suggest getting the French toast because it is absolutely delicious!

Used to enjoy this diner, however after covid theyve understandably made some changes but not for the good. Theyve reduced their selection which is not an issue but theyve eliminated the special menu, which no longer includes salad and dessert... Again not an issue but the prices are higher. They are making up for lost revenue but quite obvious at the customers expense. The food is ok... But spending $100 without tip for 3 meals is excessive for a diner ( one salad dish, salmon with spinach and fish/chips) and the coffee in Starbucks is cheaper. You can eat in any nice restaurant fur same $ and get higher quality with better atmosphere. The owners could be a little friendlier too... All business here.

Gotta say i really like the food here, its always delicious. Definitely on the pricey side but usually worth it. Unfortunately today i found a very small piece of metal i assume came from a brillo pad on my onion ring. Very scary to think that i consumed small pieces of metal. Gotta be more careful i would expect better from this spot.
I have been going to this diner for many years. The food is plentiful and delicious, the staff is so friendly and accommodating, and they are following current COVID safety rules. They gave a great menu for eat in and take out. I highly recommend thus diner!
I like to go to diners on Long Island and try their French dips. Theres was pretty good I like the roll it came on and the au jus was good brown and cloudy (not salty at all). The fries were hot and fresh and a proper size portion. Baked potato soup and chicken noodle soup for both good very hot

Never had a bad meal here. Great nightly dinner specials. Easy to see right off of Jericho Turnpike servicing Northport and Dix Hills and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. Clean facilities with a wheelchair accessible entrance. Public Restrooms. Reasonably priced. For dessert I recommend the Flan or The Baklava Cheesecake. Not open 24 hours like most diners. Credit cards accepted. We will definitely be going back....
My man and I both got a milkshake-highly recommend- and an appetizer and two sandwiches. We made several substitutions with no hesitation from the staff. Extremely friendly, well sanitized and cheerful environment. Next time we go we have to save room for the deserts they keep on display in the cooler, they look amazing!

The placed smelled like wet dog. Had flies flying around. The menu was streamlined to basically burgers and wraps for lunch/dinner and the prices were crazy high. Were talking cheesecake factory high but without the great atmosphere or portions. Before covid this was a great place to go but now its just a matter of time before they lock the doors for good.

I wish I could give this place a better review. I used to go here all the time with my dad, but over the years, the prices have gone up by a huge margin while it seems like the food quantity and quality have plummeted. The cheesecake used to be nearly unmatched, but now, its nothing special. I dont know what the owner is doing, but I wouldnt spend my money here again with the turn this diner has taken. Service has still been decent, but everything else about the place is going more and more into the hole. I can spend less money on food that will actually be filling enough while be equal quality in taste elsewhere.

For what we got it was really good. Pizza burger with fries and onion rings, and grilled cheese and fries. Weve been here about 5 times and its always good. Its a bit of a drive for us as we have about 10 diners or more around us that are closer so for us to take a half hour drive there for comfort food it has to be good. I do wish they brought out a cup cake for my wife as it was her birthday and I told everyone in there so Im a little sour about that.

Food was good, but prices were extremely high for any meal.purchased thereMy plain burger was $14.99.it came with fries and coleslaw .Sandwiches were all.about 5- to 8 dollars more than before Covid-19..as were main entrees.In their defense, Ive noticed most restaurants have raised their costs in order to make up for thelosses the virus has caused.Safety shields between booths, but only behind and in front of booth. I must commend Acropolis another restaurant I visited last week located inIn Smithtown for using 6ft shields to enclose tables on ALL sides which really make customers feel safe.All restaurants should develop this policy.However, I must say our waitress was friendly and very helpful .we went at 5pm.People were distanced, BUT NOT SPACED EVERY OTHER TABLE by the time we left.

A great all around old school long island diner. Super service, clean, lots of choices in menu and excellent food. This visit we had bacon cheeseburger deluxe and omelet. Both perfectly cooked and delicious. Portions are large, plenty to share or take home.

We went for a late lunch around 3:30 pm. We were seated immediately. They had great lunch specials. It came with various soups but my husband and I are vegetarians so they substituted salads. I thought I would get a small side salad but it was a healthy portion. Our friends ordered burgers and fries. My husband and I had grilled cheese with sliced avocados and fries. I could only eat half. Then came dessert! We could order any dessert they had. I was in heaven! We will definitely be back!
Food was great! The waitress made sure to warn me about the meat that was added to the various pasta sauces as well as inform me that the vegetable soup was cooked in a chicken base. I was grateful as Im a vegetarian.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I was very disappointed with the way I got treated when they made a mistake and charged my Credit card not only with the wrong amount but charges me twice as well. I had to go back, and so convenient when I go back they couldn’t find the receipt that got charged (meanwhile I was there less than 10 min ago). They were really sketchy about it too, we had split the bill and they charged the other card and my card for the full thing all over again. Manager Peter made it seem like we were inconveniencing him and on top of that wouldn’t let us talk when we were trying to explain what the issue was. Managers are suppose to be friendly and understanding and apologetic towards a situation. He wasn’t either of those things. I would never go back there especially since I felt like Peter was being beyond rude and he didn’t see it. He charged and voided our card 7 times. If you like to get scammed I recommend this place 👍🏼.
We were here on Saturday and yesterday, Monday. Saturdays host: although the place was busy, this young man made us feel as he was exclusively taking care of our table. He was very polite and attentive. No need to ask for an extra napkin or more coffee. Great service.Yesterdays host: At past 3 PM, the place was rather empty. The host was not on the caring side. We had to call his attention. The entire meal was dealt with ONE NAPKIN. Little details make a huge difference.In general, food is good.

The great diners of the eighties are alive and well in the suburbs of Long Island. Dix Hills is a massive restaurant with all the classic dishes and a great small town vibe. On the Sunday morning I went the place was packed and neighbors of all ages were bouncing between tables and socializing. The food is solid - nothing spectacular but a cut above the usual diner fare. If Im in the neighborhood I would definitely go back.

Talk about standing room only. Waited a while to be seated. It was worth it. Kids ate everything, took desserts home. Food was good, Staff was quick and friendly. Thats why their so busy I guess.
