This is a popular place that relies solely on word of mouth to bring in customers. I tried their famous Elephant Ear Tenderloin and I found it to be very tasty and reasonably priced. It goes great with either mustard or pickle. Onion rings were good but that tenderloin really filled me up so I could not finish. Heard a lot of people raving about the pie. Didnt have room in my belly for any. Will try some next time.
Super fun, friendly staff who always provide the best service! Love their B&G and hasbrowns (get them smothered in their homemade gravy!) If youre a fried mushroom or country fried steak fanatic, you wont be disappointed! I dont know how they make them, but theyre the bomb BEST little mom and pop spot in Coles County!
Always Great Food, and we were in kind of hurry, Ill be if they didnt have our excellent food ready as fast or faster than any fast food joint, and affordable to boot!
Ive never had a bad meal here. Their chicken fried steak is so good and the fact they are one of the few joints that do from scratch food is great. Their prices are fair as well.
My first time dining at The Airport Steakhouse and I will DEFINITELY be going back. The food was delicious, the service was great, price was very good. Definitely a great place to eat.
Its not so much a steakhouse as it is a diner. The over-salted, over-cooked food-from-a-can was expected from this typical middle-of-the-road diner. I left with a full stomach. The view of the quiet airport was nice. The people were friendly and the service was quick even though it was busy. Judging by the excessive number of locals that packed the place, it must be a popular lunch stop. They even have restaurant-branded t-shirts for sale. Id try an evening meal the next time I pass through the area.

Food service reps telling cooks, They cant tell the difference is the worst thing thats happened to diners. And its too common.I was charged real-food money for a pre-breaded frozen processed-meat chicken fried steak next to instant mashed potatoes under powdered instant gravy mix next to canned green beans and a grocery store roll with a margarine cup.Lazy.The three stars are for the chocolate cream pie and fried mushrooms - both good.

The food was delicious and very affordable and the staff was friendly and attentive. We had a great meal topped off with delicious chocolate peanut butter pie! We’ll definitely stop again when we’re in the area.

Maybe I caught them at the wrong time. Staff was great, prices were good, and its a nice old restaurant in an old terminal. However, I found the food to be very bland.

Onion rings were ok. Mushrooms cut too thick and the pork tenderloin isnt close to being the same!! We were very disappointed
My daughter and I always enjoy going out to eat here!!! The servers are so friendly and patient!!! It may seem to be a little dated but I really dont notice. Sometimes you get to watch the small planes come in for a landing and thats cool! The food is ALWAYS tasty, fresh and plentiful!!!

Food was nice and the staff was helpful. Prices were reasonable. Think small, friendly family diner, and youve got it. Try the ribeye steak or the walleye fish (both specialties of the house) or the comically large pork tenderloin (I swear its bigger than a normal adult human head). The mushroom and onion chicken on rice looked delicious; Im ordering that next time.

Food was good. I had pancakes eggs and bacon. My wife had the biscuits and gravy with fried potatoes. Coffee was good and our very nice waitress made sure our cups stayed full.There is an extra charge for using a credit card, so keep that in mind. You might want to bring cash.

Fried mushrooms- best Ive EVER had. Elephant ear sandwich looked amazing, and the walleye dinner was SO GOOD. Big portions, good prices, friendly service. Ive moved away from the area years ago, and these are the foods I miss.

Slightly arrogant response. I rated based on the overall experience. Yet, you did not ask why I rate or how you could assist in the experience. Let me explain the response. The grilled chicken was dry and the service was poor. Regardless, I will not be coming to your restaurant. This is sole based on the arrogant response.
If you like fried foods, this is the place to go. Great fried catfish, mushrooms and onions strings. Not much ambiance, but hey, youre at a little airport!
I had the elephant ear tenderloin and a small order of the fried mushrooms. First let me say that the mushrooms are dynamite! And the small order is more than enough for two people. The pork tenderloin is huge, the reason I only gave them 4 stars is because everything was bland. At minimum I wish everything had salt on it. I will try them again, I had a pick up order so I dont know how the service is.

Excellent food. People come from miles around have their specialties, but standard fare is just what youd expect - really good food at really good prices. Best patty melt ground and the fries are amazing!

They have really good homestyle food here. The walleye special on Thursdays is one of my favorites. There elephant ear tenderloin and fried mushrooms are also on my favorites list. You get alot of food for the money and I always leave stuffed.

Normally the food is good been going there since the early 70s,maybe because it was Sunday at 5pm I had fish fries cottage cheese. Fish was ok but the fries were room temp,not HOT not warm room temp, the person I was with had all white Chicken it didnt taste bad but wasnt right. Had to use a knife and fork to get off the bone, then chew an chew. Was not good. Waitress asked if we needed box, said no explained the problem, paid the bill
