I received my new glasses in less than 10 days! Olga was great with helping me and has good customer service. Thxx
The Hyattsville staff have been really great and patient. I especially want to give the manager Shawn a shoutout. Every time I’ve had a problem with cracks in my rimless glasses, she’s been professional, direct, very knowledgeable and solution oriented. I’ve been a very loyal customer of MyEyeDr. for more than 10 years— first in Boston, then DC, and now in Hyattsville. Every time I go in, Shawn tells me something new about buying glasses. For example, I had no idea that different frames may have varying or limited sizes to select from. So, don’t get glasses too small for your head. This pandemic has been hard for everyone; and if there’s one thing I learned early on it was to be patient. I’ve had delays in getting my glasses— but it’s not the staff’s fault. It’s an assembly line issue. I highly recommend this MyEyeDr. location!
Even though, my experience wasn’t really good with my order. Some body from the patient relations call me apologizing about that. Trying to make right my experience with them. Jasmin was polite and helpful. Thanks !
They gave me the completely wrong prescription and when I went back for another check they lessened the prescription it was horrible
The office was immaculate, the staff was very professional and ready to help, the Dr. was fast, professional, and well mannered! Overall this was my VERY BEST experience with My Eye Doctor and I’ve been to a few of them namely Oxon Hill 🤮 they are the absolute WORST! Bonquesha and Sis work there! They are very aggressive, disregarding, and very unapologetic. My choice is the Hyattsville office and if I were you, even if you don’t live near there, it’s well worth the drive!
Staff are always kind and my wait is usually light to moderate (generally quick). My children are comfortable, as am I, with the eye dr we see. Most favorite aspect about this office is I don’t have to wait 5-8 weeks to get an appointment. I’ve always been able to make my appointments within the same week or the latest the next one.
The optometrist was great - friendly and knowledgeable. But the best part was the staff! They were fun, laughed easily, made sure I had what I wanted and what I could afford. The selection of glasses was pretty good, and I didnt have to wait long for someone to help me.I heartily recommend the insurance plan. I had not had the glasses for 4 months when my dogs chewed the leather case - with the glasses inside. I was able to replace them at no cost because I had the insurance. You just never know.....
I have been bringing my son here for 3 years and have had a mixed experience. The Good: The optometrist is very knowledgeable and thorough. He noticed that my sons prescription was increasing rapidly, and referred us to Treehouse Eyes who have specialized techniques for controlling the rate of increase, even though this means he will get our business less often. The not-so-good: When my son got his glasses they didnt make any attempt to fit them to his head. A good optician will do a careful fit to the shape of your head - unfortunately, it is hard to find anyone who does this nowadays. They just hand you the glasses and expect you to be satisfied. I had to take my son to my own optician to get a good fit so that the glasses dont slide around.
Staff is friendly and accommodating, definitely put a lot of effort into individualized customer service! Robert was really helpful in selecting a frame that matched my face and personal (picky) style, he clearly is passionate about making people see well and look good at the same time. I have been to the Columbia (MD) location in the past and this location is so much more professional and friendly.
Terrible experience! I came to My eye doctor because they said they took my insurance. All I wanted was a contact prescription and was told that it would cost 80$ because my insurance only covers glasses. The place is unsanitary unlike other eye doctors that I been to that wipe the machines or put covers on them. After the doctor finished my exams he gave me contacts that were not even my prescription because he said they dont carry my prescription. He told me to look for glasses which were not covered by my insurance so I didnt want to look for glasses I just wanted to get out of there! I asked the man if he could fix my glasses and he asks me if they are from my eye doctor and he cant fix them because he might break them. In the end my bill was $110. I will never go or recommend them! .
All the staff were great. I felt that everyone was extremely helpful and nice. I felt that they addressed all of my concerns! I would recommend.
Called two times to ask suite number first time I was put on hold and waited for 5 minutes, second time 3min. For those looking to enjoy this address be prepared for towing, crashes and traffic.
After buying an expensive pair of clear lenses at the MyEyeDr out in Virginia, I noticed that one of the little plastic discs that rests on your nose fell off. I was walking by this location and decided to stop by and see if they had a replacement. The young African-American man behind the counter was extremely helpful and professional. He went to the back and found replacements, replaced BOTH of them for me, cleaned my glasses and even tightened them. Needless to say, I will be returning to this location.
Terrible. Staff is slow, and doesnt respond quickly. They messed my glasses orders, and never called me when the order was done. Unbelievable, I highly donr recommend to shop here if your a beginner for getting glasses.
I went here yesterday and was only 3 minutes past their “grace” period and the receptionist would not let me see the doctor. I was there for my father whom is wheelchair bound and she made no effort to accommodate me. I felt as if she was happy to say “no”. I just know that I will never go to this MyEyeDr again. I feel as if I wasted a whole day. I had to travel one hour to pick my father up from a nursing home, help him get into a car because he cannot walk. Find parking that is very difficult to find at this location only for the receptionist to say “no, you can’t be seen”; without consulting the MD.
I am not even a customer yet but, I am having couple concerns that have to be addressed:Google said something but the reality is something else. I was in the store at 6:00 pm and the door was closed and the staff were ignoring me because of the sign that was posted on the door saying Doctor are not there today and blablabla.... which is okay. But, I made it down here knowing that it will close at 8:00 pm and the staff didnt even have bother to talk to me because that note said that the store is closing at 6:09 pm today. This lack of communication is not good.I am a new customer with my prescription and I am looking for assistance to get my eye glasses.Could anyone help? Thanks* The customer service in this store needs some energy...
Unbelievable how rude they treat there customers. Very hard to contact them by phone. When I did get someone on the phone seems like I got the bait and switch. They said my insurance covered the exam. But then claimed i owed more when I got there. I paid my bill and they did not offer me what they promised. They spoke about my personal info in front of the store didnt even pull me to the side to discuss my information in a friendly respectful manner. I felt horrible when i left this place. Worst experience ever. The doctor was pleasant but unaware of how things got handled on the front end.
Poor customer service really rude front desk as well
It is unfortunate that issues have to get addressed through the internet rather than in person. I am a local to the area and decided to give MyEyeDr. a try because my previous experience at a competitor was horrendous. My visit consisted of an eye exam and selection of new glasses. I loved the Optometrist since she is very friendly and walked me through the appointment in no time flat. The staff were friendly and patient when fitting me with new glasses and pricing. Though, the selection at this location was very limited, I was able to not only request a new pair, but recycle the current ones I own with new lenses. Now, here is where the one star comes to fruition. The promise date for my purchase came and gone and no one told me. I called for a status check and was informed THEN that the date passed. There were no clear notes as to why, but was told that they were still showing in process. I waited another week, and had to call again. The second call proved to give no new information and the staff member advised that the manager would call me the next day with an update. That did not happen and a few days later i had to call AGAIN. Well apparently, the system updated with a note for staff to call me about a week prior and they apologized. So I was thinking, Im getting my glasses? Apparently no, I was not! The frame I had selected was on back order, my lenses still in process and thats it. I am suppose to deal with it. I am sitting five weeks out from my appointment, payed quite a bit of money, for something I dont even know when I will get? How is this a business model? Where is my incentive to keep waiting?Overall, I do not recommend MyEyeDr. Hyattsville as a primary choice for glasses. In hindsight, I should have just gone online and gave them my business instead. This step would have given me value for my time, money, and patronage.
I typically go here to get my eye tests. I was recently asked to reschedule an appointment because I was late (11 mins) and they have a 10 minute grace period. I was nice about it however every time I go here they make me wait 10 mins, always. I will try to find a different location that is closer and a little more cooperative.
I have been waiting for an hour and the worker is just making small talk with a customer. Had an appointment at 11:15 and the doctor did not see me until 11:40. Then the frames that I had ordered were not there yet. They had forgotten to send them. I did not get out until 12:43. And I missed my bus.
I have came here for my 5 year old daughters glasses. The prescription was correct but I had to keep coming in the get them adjusted, which did not work. I eventually ended up adjusting them myself. Also her prescription changed VIA her ophthalmologist although she had just gotten some earlier this year, her vision changed and requires the new medicine. Now instead of consulting with the insurance company for a authorization, they want to charge me for a pair. OR have my 5 year wear contacts... 5 YEARS OLD IN CONTACTS!?!?!I will keep trying, but this does need to be resolved, ASAP
I came to this place with my sister and we got glasses together. The doctor poured out glasses from a bag. I got designer glasses and my sister got tap out glasses. I made sure that the doctor had the prescriptions right before we ordered the glasses. Then when me and my sisters glasses finally came the prescriptions were wrong. My glasses had the prescriptions that my sister had and my sisters glasses had my prescription. So I have to wear my sisters glasses and my sister has to wear my glasses.
I went here for an eye exam for contacts and left with contacts that did not work for my eyes. After realizing this I went back in and instead of checking my eyes again I was given a lower prescription for the eye that did not focus in clearly enough. This is all after I ordered a year supply of contacts which I am still struggling with seeing with. Now I find myself back at square one needing to go to an eye dr to get my correct prescription and new contacts.
I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with MyEyeDr. in Hyattsville. I have known Dr. Reynolds-Temple for 10 years, and her consistent, thorough care has kept my eyes in check! I recently had to be prescribed with a pair of computer glasses, and the staff was more than helpful guiding me to the pair that met my needs best. Youll be in good care at MyEyeDr. in Hyattsville.
Wait to see doctor is too long...staff is friendly...they need to stream line queing process. Dr Russell is great
When I call them up, it takes around 10-20 minutes to be able to speak properly to a representative. In between, I keep getting transferred from one operator to another (5 to be exact) and had to give the same information to each of them over and over again. Some of them kept putting me on hold abruptly. In summary, the staff is very inefficient. They also forced me to miss an appointment because they could not provide me some information in time. I was shocked by their lack of responsibility and attitude. After visiting the optometrist, they tried to withhold the prescription so that I am forced to buy a pair of eyeglasses from them.
The front desk staff needs to be retrained ASAP!! The customer should never have to come in and do the staffs job!!!
To Whom It May Concern,Veera Patel and every doctor in this building is a hack!I first walked into My Eye Doctor at the Columbia, Maryland location on September, 16, 2014. I was given an eye exam for contacts. With the same insurance I had for the previous 4 years, I went through the process of paying for the visit. I was surprised to realize that while at my previous doctor in a different state I would normally walk out with a year’s supply of contacts in addition to the routine exam, here, the allowance only covered a 6 month supply. No matter, I chucked it up to a higher cost of living and paid the remainder of a less than $25 co-pay.This year I found another My Eye Dr location closer to my route to work. (Hyattsville location) As soon as I walked in the door there was a noticeable difference. The place felt disheveled and tired. The service was unusually quick, with the lady behind the counter pulling me into a room and starting my preliminary exam before I could even right my name on the clipboard; then shuffling me into another waiting area. I hadn’t sat down when the doctor called for me with an air of irritation in her voice, and a most annoyed look on her face. It was clear she was checked out for the day, and no longer invested in her job. (not the feeling you want to get from someone who will be poking around your eyes) As she drudged through what was obviously an endless exam for her, we came to the part where she was going to check the “air pressure” of my eyes. Now normally this involves a little puff of air in the eye, but since their machine was broken, she uses another archaic device. This contraption is like a probe that she is bringing toward my eye while telling me not to blink. (Seriously?) Since my eyelids work normally to prevent things from entering my eye, I could not stop blinking and her frustration became more and more clear. My eyes watering, she repeated impatiently for me to stop blinking. Since I could not, she pried my eyes open with her fingers and forced the machine toward my eyes. It was the WORST experience I’ve ever had in an exam. (And I get routine “female” checkups)At billing, though I had the exact same exam the year before and paid only the normal $25 co-pay, they told me I owed an extra $129. I had them check it multiple times and called their Customer Disservice line just to get the answering machine, and no returned calls. When I finally got through to them, they told me the store was correct, and that all the locations I went to before (for the last 5 years with no changes in my insurance coverage) had charged me incorrectly. Done.
Satisfied with the Dr and eye exam, but they put a lot of pressure on me to buy glasses that I didnt really like, at a high price, and didnt want to give me a copy of my prescription.
These folks messed up my day with their incompetence. They put a hold of my insurance and forgot take it off after I cancelled my appointment. Well, I set an appointment to go somewhere else and could not because these folks did not take off the hold. I had to take more time off work to get my glasses. Watch these folks; you have to check and double check their work if you do not want to get screwed! Sad, so sad!
This location: they dont seem to be knowledgeable. Also they procrastinated on letting go of my benifts. I cancelled my appointment and did not get an exam here. I went to lenscrafters. When I went to lenacrafters, it showed that I already had an exam because this location did not let go my benefits. I had to call my insurance company.
One of the best services I have received …I am a regular customer to this location, I get my glasses and my son’s glasses(Who breaks every 3-4 months) in this store. I have to mention you about the service I always get from here.Best leader:Margaret, the manager is always helpful and to the point. She has helped to pick the right glasses at right price for all our family. She has her team rolling and very courteous to their customer.Take ownership:When my Rockville location proceed my claim incorrectly, Margret and Estefany took ownership of the situation and called the Rockville location and corporate and assure me the refund( and They did).Warm & Welcoming:Yesterday I took one our family member there to get her glasses, she did not have insurance and we were on budget. Margaret saw me, recognized me and assigned her team member to get my information and she came over and personally helped us to pick up the glasses and stay within our budget.Difference Maker:Other stores or chains may offer better deals but the service makes the difference, this location staff make you feel home, welcoming and give you the best service. You guy are FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Prices are higher than most, but It was quick and the staff is very helpful.
I went to this eye doctor in 2014 and had the worse expirence ever, I was told my glasses would be ready in a week which was a lie I waited almost a month for my glasses I contacted them about my glasses and the lady told me that they were about to send them back because they had been sitting for so long and I explained that I was never contacted about the glasses because the number she had on file was the wrong number and when I recieved my glasses I was even more displeased the perscription thats in the glasses is not for me and I can barley see out the glasses I wouldnt recommend this location to anyone
Went in for a checkup. Was given a series of tests, none of which were explained to me, one of which wasnt covered by my insurance and they didnt ask if I wanted. They tried to upsell me $400 lenses without telling me the cost up-front. When I got the glasses a week later, they were the wrong prescription. Avoid at all costs.
Its was a pleasant visit.
It has very bad service in that locations I will never call that location to not waste mi time just to have information
My children had a very good experience there...
I took my two kids here last year and this year when I called to make a new appointment they hung up.
Great ppl.
Great service and care.
I went to this clinic with a prescription in hand and for a childs glasses without anything special they were charging me 500 dollars and they do not accept or complete it is sure I will never return
Very good service
