It’s difficult to find a place that makes a good dry cappuccino. La Vanilla Bean has nailed it both times I’ve been in. 🤩🤩🤩Their pastries are also the real deal - fresh, delicious.I’m so proud of this establishment. It’s a super fine coffee shop and French bakery.

Personable service, a delightful assortment of fresh bakery, a diverse beverage menu (this is the Mexican mocha), and a cozy atmosphere. Great place to stop for coffee in downtown Idaho Falls. Based on the number of regulars coming in, Im not the only one who knows that.

Stopped in on a drive through town and had wonderful breakfast burritos and coffee to go. Get both sauces! Great combination! The burritos are big! I had the cold brew coffee and it was smooth and delicious. I should have bought one of the pastries for later! We are from out of town and had no trouble finding it even with the road construction so not sure how that was an issue for another poster.

I ordered a decaf latte and asked for him to make it a strong coffee flavor. Any batista knows that means MORE SHOTS. The drink tasted like steamed milk.I also purchased a piece of seasonal bread which he said is zucchini. I took it and left, eating as I drove away, the guy didnt mention it had chocolate chips in it. Not only that... it was hard and stale.No way will I waste my money there again.

Their croissant-based breakfasts are aiming the best morning experiences Ive had.

Husband and I stopped in on a whim and were so glad we did. The staff was warm and helpful. The quiche was delicious and my husband is still raving about the mango/peach scone! Our drinks were expertly made! We cant wait to visit again.

I know coffee isnt the same from state to state, and Im certain this place has plenty of people who enjoy it. But coming from WA, even the drive up shacks had better coffee than here. Overpriced for what they sell and they didnt even warm up my bread. I could tell it had been frozen because the center was still solid. At least offer fresh food, you have the room for it being such a big cafe

Service was great. Very cozy place. The food and coffee were amazing. We had the breakfast burrito(massive btw!) And a breakfast panini as well as a scone. Everything was outstanding!

Bought a sandwich platter from the Villa downtown. The bread was good flavored and soft. Loaded with meat plus bacon . I would definitely buy from them again.

If your looking for something simple and delicious I highly recommend La Vanilla Bean, I live in Utah and have traveled twice just to come eat here! Love the location the service and mainly their food it is delicious 5 stars for sure you need to try it!

Exquisite European pastries and Lattes! My favorite breakfast is a hot almond flavored latte and a delectable ham and cheese baked croissant. For breakfast dessert, a lemon bar. Go there in the mornings the sunlight downtown is gorgeous!

Quality place. Amazing coffee (I say this as a former barista), friendly service and the breakfast burrito was HUGE! I regret I didn’t get to try their sweets. Very cozy and good internet connection. Quiet on an early Monday morning but with a regular rotation of folks coming/going.

Used to really enjoy this bakery and coffee shop. In the past few years, Ive noticed the Almond Horns in particular are not a chewy as they used be. Much harder and crunchier, which I do not prefer. Two family members commented this is as hard a biscotti. The staff in general is not as friendly as the original owner, but I do enjoy the croissants. By choosing your pastry wisely, you can have a good experience here.

Being from Seattle originally I enjoy a good cup of coffee, and La Vanilla Bean delivers (figuratively) I will be back

One of the best Chais Ive ever had, if you like sweet chai lattes. Really enjoyed the baked potato soup and grilled cheese. Perfect combo for a chilly fall day.

Pastry staff was on vacation so no pastry options when we went in.We ordered two coffee, and the lady was not very friendly. She just put our coffee on the counter and did not say anything. I had to get her attention and asked her whether that was ours. She did not even remember what she just made. The Latte and Mocha we ordered were so-so.I do noticed she was much nicer with the regulars and locals. A disappointing experience while stopping by Idaho falls.

Do you yourself a favor and order the breakfast Panini with avocado bacon tomato cheese etc. Their eggs are the fluffiest yummiest I’ve ever had. The bread is made there and I love it. My only complaint would be with the help they could really be friendlier and and maybe act like they remember you. . Also it could be a little warmer in there in terms of decor. It is not a place that I would want to Stay and eat I always take my food to go. Let me say this though it is absolutely the best place to go for a breakfast sandwich

La Vanilla Bean Patisserie was a fantastic start to our trip back home! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The chocolate croissants were fantastic. We also got the almond horn, ganache topped brownies and cinnamon twist. The cinnamon twist reminded me of a Kouign-amann. Definitely go! You’ll thank me.

This is my favorite coffee shop in town. They are the only place that has consistently served awesome cappuccinos. Their food menu is simple and very good. And the pastries are the best! The owners are foodies and take a lot of pride in making everything perfect. They are also big supporters of other small local businesses. Im very happy to call Vanilla Bean my new favorite spot.

I walked in with my mask on, and was shocked to see the lady at the counter maskless. She didnt even put one on when I went to order, or when preparing my order. An overweight employee (also maskless) sat in the corner with another person and was glaring at me the whole time I was there, as if he was judging me for wearing mask. I felt extremely creeped out by the whole experience. Absolutely no respect for the safety of their customers. I will NEVER go into this coffee shop again, even after COVID.

Sandwiches are generous and yummy! Coffee is the best and atmosphere is relaxed. Baked goods are a nice treat too. My favorite are the creme puffs.

Id have given this place even more stars if I could! I stopped by for a birthday treat tonight and was treated like royalty. My brother had called ahead and told them it was my birthday, so they had the cake waiting for us, which was excellent. As we were eating, we were each offered a cup of hot cocoa on the house, and they again wished me a happy birthday. As we wrapped up the cake and cocoa, we were again each offered a pastry of our choice on the house and I was wished a happy birthday again! Absolutely outstanding customer service and top notch pastries and cocoa!

THE best coffee out here. THE BEST pastries ANYWHERE! Plus!!!!...Eric makes THE best clam chowder EVER. (But so far-I’ve only seen it once on the menu—hint hint Eric). And the best plus of all, is that everyone there ROCKS. And it’s a pretty chill atmosphere too.

Great coffee. The people that work there are great people. The beer is awesome. Ive literally shut that place down and they didnt even tell us. We were just hanging out drinking beer and coffee and they just let us do our thing way past closing. Super cool. We hang out here a lot and love it. Highly recommended

I am a repeat customer. I knew from the start this place would be top-notch. This is the only business the owners run, the owners are always present, the food has an incredible visual appearance that speaks to attention to detail, and pastries are always prepared the same day they are sold. The result: the best ganache, Napolean torte, and breakfast burritos I have ever had, with other pastries tied for second and third best I have ever had. I have never had anything here that I did not like. Indeed, the place lives up to its advertisement as being a European Bakery.

Tried to come an visit and they were closed during scheduled business hours and no reason why.Im not mad, I just saw this place drove there and was sad that I didnt get to try your amazing food. Next time I guess.

I absolutely love their coffee (favorite is Mexican Mocha), and their food is always best tasting. I love their bfast burritos and lemon bars.I also appreciate they are very well-staffed (quality and quantity). Everyone there is super helpful and care about what theyre doing. I really enjoyed my stop into this small but cute coffee shop. I wanted to try their pastries, but had just finished breakfast elsewhere. I can say that everything in the pastry case looked fantastic, and the people around me were enjoying their treats. I had a delicious chai latte that was well prepared. It was served hot, and the froth was the perfect temperature and consistency. Service was fast and efficient and the decor is quite lovely and creates a relaxing environment.My friend ordered a chocolate croissant and said it was as good as ones she has had in France. The next time I go, I will be trying their quiche as it looked absolutely decadent.I would highly recommend a visit to la vanilla bean if you are a connoisseur of coffee and/or pastries!

I stumbled in here by accident. Had a miscommunication meeting up for coffee. I like this snug little place. Plenty of room but still that comfortable snug feel. I had standard coffee which was decent. Most appreciated the good-natured staff who patiently pointed me to another coffee shop where a friend waited.

Good coffee and excellent pastries. Once again Google scored a home run recommendation. Would have never found this place without Google directions. The service was friendly and the pastry is outstanding. Really recommend stopping by.

The croissants at La Vanilla Bean are some of the best I’ve had - light, flaky, and tasty. The folks, who run the place, are kind, outgoing, and efficient. Plus, they make a good espresso!

I love the wonderful atmosphere and feel of this place, comfortable place to sit chill have a cup of herb tea, coffee, a steamer or coffees. The employees are helpful and kind and the clientele shows that as well. Wish i could come every morning. Come and enjoy!

The food is delicious here (I personally recommend the house chai with cinnamon) and you can taste the quality.Beyond that the atmosphere is wonderful, a great place to sit and read or get some work done!

Their tomato soup is amazing. We also havent tried any of their baked goods that we didnt love. If you are downtown Idaho Falls this is a great place for breakfast, lunch, or a treat.

Stopped in while playing Pokemon Go and grabbed a coffee while asking for directions. Excellent service and very good coffee. Very friendly staff and was a clean location. Downtown parking is what it is though.

Seems like a decent coffee shop/bakery, but I do have one bone to pick with them about their Kolache offering. As a recent transplant I was excited to see one of my favorite Czech breakfast foods available. I had to visit on 3 separate occasions before being able to sample their take on this (normally) delicious treat, but what I received, I would never have called a kolache in my wildest dreams. Instead of a sweet, yeast risen dough with a pool of fresh fruit puree or cream cheese in the middle, I was served some sort of puff pastry/croissant roll with the edges curled and pink strawberry icing (like on a doughnut for goodness sakes) slapped on the top. Vanilla Bean, please correct this severe bakery misnomer by either taking this abomination off of your menu or changing the name.

Very disappointing! The americano and iced tea were extremely watery and flavorless. The employees appeared lackadaisical. The sandwich was pretty good, however. Overpriced.
