During Covid it has been difficult to find furniture for our new home that fit our family and budget. We decided we wanted to support a local business if we were going to have to wait anyway. We visited several local furniture shops in the KC metro. At first, I was skeptical of this one because the building is very small and in need of some repair. However, to our surprise, South City Furniture not only had a relatively great collection (in evened new condition), but we were able to purchase our sofa and have it delivered the next day! The woman that helped us decide on a sofa was not salesy and didnt pressure us at all. She made it an easy-going experience. The prices are more than affordable, and they deliver for a very reasonable fee! This is a family owned business and the cousins that do the delivery went above and beyond to not only keep our new sofa in great shape, but they also unloaded it, took our door off to get it inside and then replaced our door all with the best attitudes. I dont review often, but I cannot recommend this business enough! 10/10! Ill definitely be shopping here again in the future. My only regret is that I didnt get out cash to tip them. They deserved it!

I would definitely recommend them for anyone needing furniture, especially now when so many places don’t have stock items. I got my furniture within a day or two after purchase. Very happy!!

We just moved to area from Colorado, and had visited a couple furniture stores that told us we could be waiting up to 150 days for a couch, called this place and he was super helpful and forthcoming about his inventory and was willing to part with what he had. Being my first full day here, he was the second most friendly person Ive met and was willing to help us out. They are amazing. The lady was super nice and reassuring that the couch and love seat set would be a great fit I have 3 kids and a dog and my old couch was falling to peices was nervous about buying a new set with three toddlers. Great prices for beds the delivery was not costly either two to guys even took both beds and Frames up 4 flights of stairs for me and set put everything together sales man tyler I think was not pushy he helped me and my daughter pick out the perfect beds

At first when theyre selling you the product theyre amazing, but when it comes to fixing the product that they already sold you theyre extremely unprofessional. I called probably 20+ times within the last year about getting my couch fixed and when they actually decide to answer its covid makes it really hard to get parts, everyone is waiting. And the other times they dont answer but immediately answer when i have someone else call. I spent 3600 dollars on stuff with them and this is how they treat you. I dont think it takes a year to get a replacement part covid or not, ESPECIALLY when I told them about my issues before covid was even a issue.

Wow! I wish I had known about this place earlier. We found exactly what we were looking for at a price we could afford. Then we discovered that they also had the lowest delivery rates in the area, too! The delivery was on time and the people were courteous and professional. Overall a good experience.

Ive had my furniture from South City for almost a year and Im extremely happy with it. Its manufactured by Ashley but costs less when delivery fees are figured in. It looks like leather, its not vinyl, but its easily maintained. I have caught my cat vigorously scratching it several times, and he cant damage it. Its a polyester blend of some kind. It also has survived some iced tea, black coffee spills and oily accidents (salad dressing) without a trace. I wouldnt buy furniture anywhere else!

From the moment I walked through the door I felt respected. Travis was attentive without hovering. Even while helping someone else, he was sure to check on others. Everyone was knowledgeable about their products, but also ready to research for you. Their prices are reasonable and their delivery set up left no complaints. Everyone had a smile and appeared genuinely happy to help.

Bought new mattress and box springs from South city. Very comfortable and slept great. The guys brought it in and set it up took all plastic wrap. Fast and easy. Bought living room furniture from them in February and had same experience. Fast and friendly. Will be back for any furniture needs .

My husband and I were desperate for a new bed. We went to Nebraska Furniture Mart a couple months prior and boy is that place a ripoff. So we suffered some more until we decided to go to South City. I was super pleased with the customer service and we were able to get a super nice new bed for 400. They have lower priced ones but we decided to go a little bit nicer since the payments were affordable. Thanks South City! Our backs feel so much better! We will definitely go here when we get ready to get living room furniture.

I needed a new bed and didnt want to spend a million dollars. I visited 3 separate places and laid on bout 20 beds. Every place i went to was gonna charge me 50.00 to deliver except South city furniture. The bed i bought was comparable to a 900.00 i laid on for less than half of that. I love that it is not a big bix store or a chain store ran by a husband and wife. Very very nice people to do business with. Always getting new stuff in. And they will do layaway. That is something almost unheard of. Outstanding customer service which is getting to be almost a thing of the past. Delivery kids were amazing as well. Kudos to Justin. I felt like my business was truly appreciated and there was no high pressure to purchase there. I highly recommend South city furniture. I will be back when Im ready to purchase a sectional. Called South City in January to ask for assistance. I was told a replacement spring would take 2 weeks maybe longer but now its mid April. When I called to check on it in March I was told basically dont call us we will call you.Update 6/17/2020: Still waiting for my chair to be repaired! I changed my 5 stars to 2. Timely repair/replacement is also part of customer service! Beware!!

Thanks to the store manager for assisting me on my furniture order during this COVID time as there were delays on my order but you worked with me and I was able to get my loveseat placed in my home. The two delivery guys were wonderful and very respectful in my home as they moved in my order. I am happy that you do offer layaways within your store which is so helpful to those who want to upgrade their homes with great price furniture sets and not have to worry about coming up with all the money upfront as most furniture stores require you to do.

If you have been shopping for furniture, you know how cheaply built most of the stuff is. They make the deals sound great and the high pressure sales staff can really make you crazy. I went to authority. My Ashley furniture is wonderful and the staff is great. I spent less for quality furniture and delivery was only $30.

I recently moved here from California after the Camp fire where I lost everything . I purchased my living room, kitchen and bedroom furniture from South City Furniture located off of N. Noland in Independence. Their prices are competitive, but their customer service is outstanding. They were knowledgeable about the Ashley furniture I was interested in. They went the extra mile by even putting the mattress cover on my bed after setting up all my other furniture. No boxes or packing materials were left at my home It was a seamless process from the buying, delivery and set up of my furniture. Please buy local and know this company deserves your business. Small place but reasonably priced furniture

South City Furniture is my favorite place to buy any furniture. Travis and his wife are always extremely helpful. I have purchased two living room sets, end tables, three mattresses, and two easy chairs from them. I believe in shopping at family owned stores, and find that usually the service I get is so much better than a chain. This is the case at South City Furniture. I will be back for any other furniture needs I have.

Wish I had the same experience as most of these reviews but we talked to a lady that works there, can’t remember her name and we told her we would buy a piece of furniture here instead of another outlet if she could price match which was a 40 dollar difference, and instead of making the sale and us taking the table home that day, she proceeded to tell us we can go to the other outlet and buy it. I didn’t know 40 dollars was worth losing a future customer. But in this case it is. Btw it was the same exact table. For the reply that was just posted

I have bought multiple dressers, nightstands, couches, and beds from this store over the last 19 years. Over the years as Ive changed furniture Ive also bought from other stores like NFM and Mattress Firm. All my items from South City Furniture have held up longer and stayed in better condition than furniture Ive bought from anywhere else. And not to mention the price is exceptionally cheaper at South City Furniture for the exact same products youd buy at any other furniture store. Im proud to say Ive been a repeat customer at South City Furniture over the last 19 years. I love that its a small family owned business and the service Ive received has always been phenomenal. While the outside of the store may look small and the name of the store may not be one you recognize just know that this is the best furniture store with the best customer service. We bought a king bed years ago and it was a great bed. Lasted long time. After losing our sruff in a fire we went right back to South City. Got 3 queen beds and man was Travis right. This was the easiest time i have had buying something. The person who helped me was FANTASTIC.

I bought a full size firm basic mattress only from here. Paid $106 w/tax. Ive had the bed for about 2 months now and its still great. Very comfortable and no issues at all. Service was quick and pleasant. They answered all my questions. One of the guys loaded the bed up for me so that was nice.Plan to go back here and buy a queen set soon. Prices are very reasonable.

I stopped at the store and found a recliner I liked. I made the purchase. It was 2:40 in the afternoon. I requested delivery. I was sitting in my new chair in my living room at 3:45 the same day.
