Staff was chill, knowledgeable and Jeff didn’t try to get me to over buy. Probably saved me several bad purchases to get my home audio where it’s at. These people are awesome. They did not try to sell me more than I needed, critical. They installed my new car audio equipment, tuned it to my vehicles interior and showed me how to properly use it all. Overall a great experience.

I called several audio place in KC area. Some didnt even pick up! One told me Id probably have to send my faulty speaker into B&W for repair. Another couldnt give me a straight answer but would look at my speaker for $60 before the actual repair! No one even asked me what kind of speaker I had or werent familiar with B&W!I talked with Jeff. First question? So, what do you have? He was very familiar with Mr speaker brand, asked a few more pointed questions. Then he had me send him a few photos of my speaker so he could give me a fair idea of what I might need. Within minutes he called me back and gave me the simple solution to fix my speaker myself!Saved me a trip from Overland Park to Independence! Saved me at least $60 or shipping to the manufacturer. And he gave me advice to make my next upgrade. You bet Ill purchase it from Independence Audio!

It is a family owned store thats been around since 1970s every staff in the store knows what theyre talking about when it comes to wanting a TV a car stereo a home theater system a record player or whatever it may be but if youre looking for a budget-friendly TV or a budget friendly stereo or record player it is best to shop around if youre looking for something cheaper you can shop at other places that could be cheaper but they do offer layaway they have a long lengthy layaway that you can use and take all the time you want to pay it off but if youre looking to buy it straight out I would advise that you would shop other places that could be cheaper as they are kind of expensive they sell higher in stuff. This is why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars as I wish I could give it five stars they do sell quality items TV stereos and etc... But as far as price wise if youre looking for something budget friendly theyre not the place to shop at but if youre looking for quality staffs that stands behind the products that they sell and guarantees them 100%, then this is the store for you.

I will never go to another store EVER again for audio needs. They put the most incredible system in my new truck. Did it RIGHT the first time and at a reasonable price. It makes such a difference when you have the pros install a top shelf system.

I was having trouble with my subs in my car. I went to audio/video in indep mo, and Justin was super helpful. He wasnt pushy at all, but I ended up buying what I needed to get me stereo bumping. Best place ever. I recently purchased a home theater sub from a different place and sounded like a squirrel was in it. I went by here and spoke with George. He was the best ever, first he gave me advice on what could be going on with my current sub and I already tried everything he suggested. He then showed me around at what set ups were there in the building. Yes, I did not realize at first how the prices were but you also get what you pay for. I ended up purchasing a couple of the Golden ear 8 subs. George helped me figure out what subs would go good with my current setup and even helped how best to set the speakers up in the settings of my current receiver. Financed a system for my truck and I’m a satisfied customer. It was expensive, but at least they allow financing. Initially I had some issues, but they fixed the issues and even did my wife’s car as well. Overall I would recommend them, but their prices are high. Great customer service.

In a nutshell, I love going there and talking with their sales staff because they are really knowledgeable and guide you to what you truly need. I am very slow to make my decisions and they have always been patient with me, no hurrying or high pressure tactics. I also like that they will write down detailed price estimates for you. Finally I like that they literally stock only high quality products, its really fun to look at all the awesome things they sell.

I helped my parents find a new entertainment center at this store. We were treated with respect and got all the attentions my technically uninitiated parents needed. We got exactly what we needed with out any up sale pressure to spend outside of their budget. The staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable about their products and the latest features. Was very honest about what would be and wouldnt be use full to my parents. Will buy from them often and again. The home install team was very flexible with scheduling and did a professional clean install, with a couple of return trips to work out the expected bugs. Everything still works great after our purchase and install in November of 2011.

Ive been going to Independence Audio for a long time. Maybe 30 years? I have purchased multiple items there over the years for car audio and love looking at all of their products. This is definitely a place to look if searching for auto audio products, home theater or even some 2 channel listening.

I went in to the store today to get a wiring harness interface for my truck. I went back home and installed it only to find it didnt work due to a manufactures mess up. I went back to the store and With the help of Justin It was fixed. I did not expect for Justin to do the work that he did. He is a top notch guy that went way above my expectations! Not only did he wire up both harnesses be also found and fixed another issue that he found. Im a very happy customer and would highly recommend Justin to do any repairs

Ive purchased various equipment from them for close to 40 years. I was in a little discussion with Sony regarding repairing an old projection set which was not repairable by them (Sony) so Sony offered a pretty good discount on a 4K direct. The guys helped me weigh the pros and cons on whether to take Sony up on their deal--which I ultimately took and no gain for them. GREAT customer service! I recommend them to anyone looking for audio/video equipment.

Remote start took almost 3 1/2 hours to be installed, after I walked in on a Saturday about noon two weeks before Christmas without an appointment and got same-day install service. Top notch service, good price and the last 3 vehicles with remote start installed here have not experienced issues. The oldest system put in was in 2006 and it works fine with one remote replacement after I stepped on the old one, twice.

I have been buying stereo equipment and video equipment from these folks for several years. However, the epitome of my experience with them was when they did the installation of my home automation system using Amazon Echo and Control4. I now have significant voice control over doors, lights, shades and more using the system, and it works flawlessly. The service after the sale is just as good as the service when youre doing the installation set up and calibration.

This store is not like a typical electronics chain store. It is an independent electronics dealer. They carry very nice higher end electronics at reasonable prices. I have recommended them to several people, and one of them just spent over $1000 in a new stereo system. I have to drive just over 1-1/2 hour to get to this store from where I live.

Needed to replace my exsisting sub with a shallow mounted edition for space in my jeep. I was pretty sure it was going to be hard to find something that sounded as good and fit in the small space i wanted it. Never really got out of the gate with these guys...had several interactions on a potential car install for a sound system upgrade,... they even recommended a sub box they didnt sell so I was left with the impression they would be happy to get my install business. At the end of the day I saved well over a $500.00 NOT buying the JL component system from them. They not only wouldnt install it after it was purchased, but went on to say no reputable dealer would. I was left in a bad spot but literally the first five businesses I called looking for help (some of which were JL Signature dealers/certified etc) said they would be happy to do it for me and the bids were all very reasonable. Ultimately I went with a shop that had a lot of experience with my upgrade and it sounds great. Tough to say what my total savings was but it was a ton!
