What a fun store to visit when youre at the Independence Square. Believe it or not, the Gilbert Whitney store has been at this location for over 190 years. It is honestly pretty neat to think about it being a building block for the city of Independence. Definitely worth checking out this piece of history :)

Such a wonderful selection of gourmet foods, drinks, and candies, bakeware, and cooking utensils. There is a strong focus on locally made products.

I just received the drumstick griller with the greatest thank you “handwritten” note. I love the product and truly appreciated the personal touch! I am now an ardent fan of Gilbert, Whitney & Co.

I love coming here for various things from bakeware that will fit into my air fryer, snacks, cards, and little gifts. They had masks I got for my kids in the beginning of the pandemic and are all around just a little gem on the square.

They have unique sauces that nobody else has and its nice to support a small business. I went to get apple and onion sauce to try but also grabbed hot pepper and bacon jam while I was here.

Very nice local store! Good selection of specialty kitchen products. Also a handful of local goods. Looks like there are changing seasonal products, like chocolates and candies. Very clean and friendly!

I went here looking for nothing, but I got a cooking/measuring spoon for 1$. The hospitality is great. If you catch a sale, you can get a deal. Of course there are things like coffee or Pollys Pop those guilty pleasures to keep you coming back. Ever tried the salt block? Neither have I, but its here.

Looking for a unique gift or a little something for your self. Possibly a special dinner idea, you will love Gilbert Whitney. I give their gift cards frequently.

I think this is the store I visited last year and found quite a few keto items. The best was the Paleo Seasoning. Please be you!! Im out and I want more!!!

Finally found the rose water and avocado oil I needed for cooking Keto recipes...I recently accidentally bought rose water extract/essential oil somewhere else and cant ingest that as it is poisonous!!!! That one makes a fine body spray only!Rose water for cooking can be used in recipes like candies, yogurts, etc and can be used in place of vanilla extract! Just make sure you get the safe digestable one from Gilberts!!!

I was looking for a type of sea salt and special pepper grinder. Found both at a fair price. Get compliments on both from all who use them at our house.
