One of the few places I’ll go for Hispanic food. The tacos are amazing, and the staff is really great. I’ve bought a few things from the store attached to it, and there’s a nice variety of things there I can’t get anywhere else.

Amazing little market! They have a wonderful range of products. Both American and Hispanic foods, Spices, fresh produce an covenant store items. Extremely nice staff. Plus a great Hispanic restaurant conveniently attached threw a small hallway. That serves some of the best Authentic Mexican food if not the best in Independence that I have had! Im go there 3 to 5 times a week for one thing or another. Most all there prices just cant be beat either.

Great neighborhood market. Dont be fooled by the size, they have a large selection here. I always come here for corn husks and lard. Wonderful bread too. Nice staff.

Taco Tuesday -----Awesomeness

The best baleadas I have had in a long time!! Only giving it a 4 because the sopa marinera con coco was not good at all since they add some other cream stuff to it el pollo dorado was very crispy but really dry inside other than that the salsa is to die for. The staff is so humble and kind. I definitely would recommend eating here if you like different types of Hispanic food!

Hi, I only ever order the tacos at the café which are excellent in my opinion, better than any Mexican restaurant in this area. And the chips and sauce are great as well! The market is a verycool little store, all kinds of stuff nobody else has! And also I am still a smoker at the time, trying to quit but when I do want cigarettes, they still have some of the lowest prices in the area. So overall market and restraunt very good. Oh and I also recently tried the tamales, very good! I ordered the pork ones!!

The restaurant is next door attached. Pretty tasty and quick food. Takeout here is relatively fast also.

Favorite stop for Mexican Caldo! Wonderful homemade brothy soup with huge chunks of veggie and meat. Ask for homemade corn tortillas. They are thick and soft and utterly fantastic! The red salsa has a wonderful roasted flavor and is not too spicy.

Good people. Good food. I like the chorizo burrito. Dollar Mexican tacos on Tuesdays and Wednesdays go with all pastor.

Horrible service! They treat non-Hispanics with bad service. Me and my family go there separately and each of us get bad service. Food isn’t cooked fully and horchata is just okay... they don’t clean the tables fully.

This is another goto place that is always consistent and ready to serve with Mexican food that is almost healthy. Lots of comfort food but some healthy choices

There is a Mexican restaurant on the left-hand side of the store. Taco Tuesdays ($1 street tacos: cilantro, onions, lime, and meat of choice) are awesome. Chips and salsa are free, but not that great.

Never had a bad meal here. Very home cooked flavors. Tamales are wonderful.

Everything was pretty easy to find and a decent selection. Staff is friendly. Only had a bit of what I was looking for but told me where I could go to find it.

This review is for the store, not the restaurant. My husband went there to buy an item we cant get in a regular grocery store. When he brought it home I checked the expiration date. It was four and a half years ago! How hard is it to check your products even once a year?? I would never eat at the restaurant since the freshness of ingredients is apparently a matter of indifference to them.

Love this place... They have great calo and menudo. Salsa is good... they make great home made corn tortilla.

I went to their restaurant and the market is next store. Their food was really good!

They brought us the wrong food and wouldnt fix it then wanted to charge for them to bring the correct food. Food has no flavor and they have very bad attitudes to customers and are very stingy with chips sauce is watered down.

Very disappointed in ATM machine, charges $3.10 just to get $20 which is the maximum amount to withdraw. The only ATM machine there in Englewood, and many of the merchants, take only cash. Rip off, taking advantage of people that live close in the neighborhood which is definitely low base income. Very rude cashier also.

Good food but my bf didnt like their tacos lol said it was like a tequito (spell ✔ lol) also said it had cabbage in it. Threw him off

Looks like a restaurant slash convenience store. They crammed a lot in there though its difficult to get around on the store side because the aisles just arent that big.

Ordered a vegetarian (bean) burrito that basically lacked any beans, and was lukewarm. The chips were stale, the salsa mediocre. And did I mention the flies hovering around?

Good food but getting more expensive. 2$ for chips! The markets has some good things as well but it always running low on things.

Good Taco Tuesday (and Wednesdays).

The food is pretty good. I really enjoyed the carne asada tacos and the chorizo tacos. The horchata was not the best but the SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE!!! A to-go order was started and rung up and sent out AFTER I placed my order. The guy walked in after me! I ate my chips and salsa and drank my horchata and the waitress never checked on me until she brought the food 30 min later. Aside from the to-go order, no one else was there!!! She talked to him the entire time then sent him on his way then 15 min later I got my meal and asked for more salsa and a refill and she told me the salsa is SELF SERVE (does the waitress wasnt a tip???) I had a baby and was eating solo so I asked her to get it. She told me the horchata refill was not free and my order was wrong. Wow

There is a saying that goes a little something like this, If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it all. But there is also another saying that says, the truth hurts.This is the worst place you could ever go for lunch. First of all, nothing on their menu is made without some kind of meat item.I ordered fried plantains and some corn torta thing cheese. I had to return them because they were fried in lard. This was annoying as the guy taking my order asked me if I was a vegetarian when I asked if there was lard in the refried beans. Only an idiot proceeds to take an order knowing that their food is fried in pig fat.I order the torta with cheese and spinach and got a torta with cheese and a fleck of spinach. Seriously???I was already annoyed as it took 30, YES 30 minutes to get these two piddly items. Id understand this if they had been busy. There was one table with four people and two girls who were waiting in the take out line for their food as well. Plus the restaurant was so filthy as in none of the tables had been cleaned.Oh and they are incredibly wasteful. I order two items and ended up with 5 separate containers. One for the plantains, one for the sauce for the plantains, one for the torta, one for the salsa, and one for some salad that comes with the torta.By the time everything was said and done, I flat out said to them... you guys are wasteful and you are ridiculously priced. I spent $10 on two items.WTF??? And then I had to go back to return it all.Do not go to this place.

It is a bad place with poor attention as most Latin sites seem to ask you as a gift, by the way, take care of the food many times in poor condition and hygiene shines because of its absence, a poko place recommended if you really knew how your product is cooked .
