Im so very sad that my kids wont grow up with a big box toy store.... end of an era

Going out of business sale. Great prices. Nice people working. The cashier went out of her way to help and accommodate the young man I brought there to shop. They also had free gift wrapping which he used.

Lots of inventory left, and deep price cuts. However, when you get to the register, they will no longer allow you to use Toys R Us gift cards...that were previously purchased with cash, receipt attached. Instead, youre handed a small square of paper to be listed as a debt with the bankruptcy court. Pretty sure thats $75 never to be seen again. I think this sucks... They accepted the cash to issue the gift card, but wont honor it in their own store.

Employees were friendly and helpful and available when needed. The line was not long at all, but they opened a second one to speed up the checkout process. Great experience.

The last of the great toy store chains. Some might argue that Amazon killed this big box retail toy outlet. But, the reality is it was destroyed by greedy speculative capitalists forfeiting the dreams of the American youth consumer demographic with shady investment deals and losing. In the end the real losers are the poor content souls, resigned to retail, that no longer have jobs. Good luck noble workers of ToysRUs, in all your future endeavors.

Took my 2 granddaughters to Toys R Us to spend there gift cards from Christmas. Had enough floor people store was clean well stocked. Cashier was very helpful too.

Oh oh I’m going to miss this place! Why they are closing down the only toy store within a 50 mile radius is beyond me!!!! This is where I bought ALL my daughters Christmas gifts.... I guess I have no choice but to go with Amazon now

I bought a keyboard for my daughter got it home and it didnt work! I called the store some douchebag answered and told me I was pretty much out of luck and hung up in my face TWICE so i went to the store that day and of course the punk ran straight to the office. Ended up getting a brand new keyboard (from the manager) and a new pack of batteries. Even though the store is closing there still something you have to maintain called customer satisfaction!!

This place was mostly cleared out. Wen I was there. But staff was nice. Even know they are going to be without there job soon. Hope for the best for all the staff.

Had to make a return, called BEFORE I went to make sure about the details of my return, drove 45 minutes to make the return just to be told my email wasnt enough & that I also needed the shipping paperwork... I was told that I ONLY needed my email for proof of purchase. I suggested that employees that dont know what theyre talking about NOT ANSWER THE PHONE or at least ask someone else if theyre not sure. But the employee that I spoke with ASSURED me I only needed the email purchase confirmation.

Store is now closed here in Independence. When they were open they had a decent selection of toys.

This place is pretty run down and messy, from the parking lot to inside the store. I’m surprised TRU is closing the nicer Overland Park location over this one. My guess is that this one doesn’t have the competition the other one has and this one is more visible (the OP location is kind of hidden behind other stores and is across from Oak Park Mall, whereas this one is right on 40 hwy and there are very few businesses left in the immediate area to compete with). The only person who interacted with me was the cashier and she was friendly. There were several staff on the floor and not one fo them said hi or asked if I needed help finding anything.

By far the worst Toys R Us we have been to. Breezy who claims to be a manager is ignorant. What kind of manager tells the customer they are lying and then walks away. Thanks for making my daughter cry by putting limits on stuff that have no signs on specifying limits!!!! Im glad were from out of state and never have to deal with these people again. I suggest Breezy gets retrained or youll lose more than just my business. With luck this location will close with the bankruptcy proceedings.

Closing for good on June 27th so trying to get rid of inventory. Prices are still too high. Wont miss it. But theyre hiring

Its a pretty expensive place but its got a nice arrangement of toys for children as well as Toddlers and older kids Im very sad to see this one is closing but Im loving the cheaper prices I will be sad to see it go but Im happy that I can shop there because my daughter birthday is coming up so this is really convenient

I like Toys R Us but theyre about to close forever and then they might come we open and I think theyre going to have more new name

Its a toy store so not much to say. I did get formula for 10 cents because it was 60 days from expiring! When they have sales, they blow out the prices for sure! It is fairly clean but they do NOT have a large babies section.

Sale says 30% off in big letters but it is Up to Everything is really 10% off. Even closing down thats not enough to make me shop there. Prices still dont seem fair comparatively.Only saw one staff member when I was there.

Ok, Im just going by a phone call. I have read reviews about how rude the people in this store are, but judging by my call, I disagree. I called about Hatchimals (KNOWING that they likely didnt have them, and I was going to get blown off), and the girl/lady was Wonderful! Very sweet, and very helpful (and sympathetic :-D ). The only reason I gave it 4 stars, was because they didnt have any. I really appreciated her kindness.

Amazing place prices are higher then other places I love their exclusive stuff a lot.

I have always bought bicycles from Toysrus and liked them. However, I just picked up two mountain bicycles for my wife and I paying for assembly and pieces were left loose and the gears dont shift properly.I took them bought back to be adjusted/repaired a week later received a call that they were ready. Well you guessed it pieces still loose and it still doesnt shift correctly.Their kid bikes are great but for adults just aggravation!

I going to miss it when its gone. Go now get good deals before its closed

This was a great store. My wife and I would still go to search for gifts and Legos for ourselves.

I love ToysRUs, but this store is not clean at all. It looks like they have not done a refurb on the store since the 80s. I know times are tough but they would sell so much more if they updated the store. Most of the staff is pretty rude too.

Love going to Toys R Us with my grandkids for their birthdays. They love it too.

This place is a joke and shady. On Dec 3rd, we ordered the Toys R Us Exclusive pink Escalade for in store pick up. Got the email confirmation stating that the order was received and that it would take 7-10 days for it to arrive to the store. One the 10th business day which was Dec 15th, I called the customer service line and they said they saw that the product was processed, but could not see where it was yet and told me that I needed to call the store. Called the store and they said they would look into it, waited on hold for 20 minutes and then I could here the girl talking in the background and she hung up on me. Called back, waited on hold for another 10 minutes because apparently 20 minutes the first time wasnt enough. Then Ray came on the phone and told me he was going to look into it. I never got a call back on Friday night. Saturday morning (Dec 16) Ray did call me and left me a voicemail stating that he did receive it and that as a courtesy for my hassle that he had his assembler put it together for us, which I appreciated. We also received the email stating that our order had arrived at the store for pickup. Fast forward to today (Dec 18th), we went to pick it up and the store associates told us that it was not there even with proof of the email and voicemail that we had. They basically told us sorry about your luck but we dont have it and we are sold out (including online which they are). My husband actually went into the warehouse and found our escalade all put together and 5 additional escalades in their back stock. Needless to say, it was extremely disappointing that a gift we were getting for our girls was such a pain to try and get. Thank you Ray for your help, the rest of you that worked with us are clearly doing something shady there. Hopefully whoever else ordered those cars dont get duped right before the holidays.

Their sales are ridiculous. Bought a saftey gate. Took it out of the box and the lock was broken rendering the gate unusable. They would not take it back. Im out $65 and have no gate to put infront of my stairs.

I can see why Toys R Us are going out of business. The last time I was there the employees were extremely rude and could care less about helping a customer.

Store is disgusting and we paid $70 for a little toddler car which broke but since we didnt have a reciept they would not do an even exchange for the exact same thing. Will only give the last sale price towards something else...which was not enough to get even a cheaper version. Manager was extremely rude. WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN!

Second time I had to get them to price match what they have listed online on their website, met with extreme eye rolling and rude attitude. Ill go to the ones in Overland Park for now on.

The staff are super friendly, the store is peaceful and clean. The visit was for the children mostly until Hubby came with stuff lol

We bid you adieu, TRU, as your time draws to a close. Nothing special about this location, the staff was still pleasant even given the demise of the business that employs them, and it was a bit of a mess as can be expected of a store going through the liquidation process.

The employees at this location are rude, and no help. I will drive 40 minutes out of my way so that I never have to step foot in this location again. You would think with the whole shopping center closing they may care a little about the foot traffic they do see, think again. This location is just a joke.

I had a hard time getting help from an associate with finding the item(s) I needed. The restroom was trashed and they were out of paper towels. Then I had to wait for the manager to open the drawer for the cashier. The only person in the store and they asked me for my receipt on my way out the door.
