MMR is packed with plenty to put a smile on any model railroaders face! I would write a list and stick to it so you dont break the bank! Seeing the item in person is so much better than a picture. Their selection is very good too! Go!

This is a catalog store meaning it is essentially a warehouse with a cash register in front and you can walk through and look at everything. The only Negative (but not worth deducting a star) is that to get a price on anything you have to look up the item number on your is on your phone at their Web page. To their benefit everybody who works there is a model railroader. Many of them have worked for the railroad or related industries. Nice folks over all in a great location.

While they have a great selection, even hard to find things, and lots of people seem to have a good experience with them I had just the opposite. I ordered some items and received a box with a packing slip for someone else and their order not mine. I called and emailed but no response. I had to open a PayPal case to get anywhere. They have very poor follow up customer service, so be warned if they make a mistake it won’t be resolved. I’m sorry to say that makes them a very poor company to deal with. Mistakes will happen and I can live with that, I can’t live with not fixing an error. Do not recommend them at all because of my experience.

FAST and GREAT PRICESI just placed my first order with Midwest Model RR for a N scale Diorama im making... after comparing their prices to the same stuff on Amazon and Ebay.. I was surprised to find almost everything was way less at Midwest. At least 20% to 40% less for the same static turf, scenery stuff etc.. Even with a $10 shipping charge on my $45 order, it was still less than Amazon Prime..Also,.. I ordered at noon on Thursday.. had a UPS tracking number in less than 2 hours.. Order arrived Saturday Morning (to Texas).. Cant be happier to have ordered from them.. and help support a real Model Railroad enthusiast company.. Already figuring out what will be on my next order...

Loads of in stock inventory for both HO and N scale products as well as a great selection of scenery items, tools, paints and other. The order online and pickup in store is a great option that they have if you are local to their shop or to shop around in store then buy is great as well. This is my favorite store for HO products. I live in Indianapolis but am from Overland Park. I was in the store April 2 and its well organized and he and Julie were great hosts. Ordered a paint online and never received any information via email regarding my order. I reach out to get information and never heard anything. After 8 days my order was just refunded with no information regarding why it was refunded.

I was very happy to learn of this business which specializes in all aspects of the model railroading hobby. A huge proportion of customers contact online or by phone, and until the pandemic, locals were very welcome to walk-in. Temporarily, orders for the local market may be picked up at the door.

Great people to work with. I have always been able to find what Im looking for. When I buy rolling stock I want multiple cars with different road numbers not just one car like many of the other vendors do. Orders are always shiped in a timely maner. Will remain a customer for a long time.

I tend not to order new products online as I generally like to actually see the product before I buy. I ordered 4 MTH HO boxcars and a scenery manual from Woodland Scenics. Ive only been a customer for about a year or so with MMR and Ive been happy with them on all accounts. I watched them transition to a new location some time ago and during that time when I had an order in I thought theyd slow down or the orders might be picked wrong by accident. Well, never missing a beat, they did a great job with that order during their transition, truly excelling with their customer service. MMR has been my go to model railroad store ever since, as I know from that transition/move event it speaks to me how organized and dedicated they are in running their business. I usually try to save up on the items to order rather than order one or two at a time, so my orders typically are not frequent, but rather in larger quantities or more items. It is also really beneficial to know they usually have many of the items I am looking for without having to go to another store or website, while maintaining competitive prices. Kudos to MMR!
