Had an early dinner last Saturday afternoon. It was a family get together and the restaurant had been contacted in advance of our arrival. The room wasnt ready when we got there, which really wasnt a problem. I had the roast beef, which sad to say, had no taste and plenty of fat. The stuffing and mashed potatoes were alright. Salad was fresh and crisp. The one thing I found very disappointing was from the time I got my food, went through checkout with no one in front of me and sat down, my food was cold. This leads me believe it wasnt very warm to begin with. Everyone that ordered the Strawberry dessert were very pleased. Our waitress Day was outstanding. Never had to call her over. It was like she was watching all of us to anticipate our next move!

MCL is not just for the elderly. They have better tasting foods than a lot of other restaurants. Check them out for yourself. You will taste the goodness !!!

Food was less than appetizing, it was cold, looked and tasted like it had been out all day, when asked how it worked because we hadnt been there before we were told to Grab a tray and add whatever you want to eat upon entering there were two separate menus, one that listed sides and prices next as if it meant for a la cart pricing and main dishes on the other menu with prices for the main dish which had meal next to some of the names, no sides were included in many but there was in some (which we ultimately didnt learn until looking at our receipt) which also showed we were rang up for an additional drink. We spoke with a fella about fixing it, I sis not get his name, he was kind and very helpful, also had a waiter who was very kind and heated our food as it was cold, he got refills and asked if there was anything we needed, he was great. So OVERALL the girl who greeted us could have been more helpful, the food was over priced, cold and sub par (however their chicken and their catfish were very good once they were warm) but the waiter and the people we asked for help were very helpful and kind.

Our group had a great time! Food was fantastic as usual. The server was very attentive -- getting us more water or soda or napkins, whatever we needed. I hope we return to this MCL for our regular gatherings.

Hey everybody check out my two-piece chicken dinner for $19 can you believe it I would have walked out right away except I was hungry and I had no clue and theres people behind me beware of this place and the reason why its so empty obviously is because of how they overcharge you. I didnt even purchase a drink so my meal would have been over $20 for a two piece chicken dinner at MCL terrible in this day and age with covid.

Best wholesome and comforting food! The staff is so wonderful. I come back every week.

Very good! Its been years since Ive been to an MCL but the roll and mashed potatoes are just the same! Very friendly servers and wait staff, quick service. We will definitely visit again!

Great staff, very helpful and courteous, making sure customers are seated comfortably (carrying trays to the tables for the older customers). And yes, the food is always delicious! 🤗

The customer service was HORRIBLE.... I had missed where the trays were and asked an employee to hand me one.....she looked at me as if I was krazy.....I ASKED THREE TIMES BEFORE SHE HANDED ME A TRAY....SECOND: MY ORDER WAS TO GO....THE YOUNG INEXPERIENCED CASHIER...ASKED IF I NEEDED SILVERWARE..... DUH.....OH BUT HERES THE CLINCHER.....SHE GAVE ME A SPOON AND KNIFE.....WHEN I CAME BACK IN THEY LOOKED ASTONISHED....I AT THIS POINT WAS VERY ANGRY.....GOT THE PROPER SILVERWARE AFTER SPENDING $40.....

Everything was great and they gave you a lot of food. The only thing I had a issue with was the chicken wasnt very fresh. If anyone goes be prepared to spend a lot of money.

You have such wonderful choices. The line through will help build your appetite. Be careful with the choices, for there is a daily special and other delicious choices. The Choices you make could add a higher price to your bill. If you have questions, dont be afraid to ask, for the employees there are beyond good help. They are helpful and truly excellent with helping you make good choices.An excellent place to go. TRY IT!!!

It was so good and delicious and the waitresses so polite and kind the only thing I wish was I didnt have any cash on me and when I was there to cash out there was nowhere to put a tip on the receipt but overall it was so good.😛😌😏

I ordered 2 cakes and they delivered as promised. They were ready when I asked for them much better than the other place I ordered from.

As a family we got the Mayflower plate, dessert, and drink. Two of the Fried Chicken with mac n cheese and broccoli, dessert was Blueberry Cheesecake and Strawberry Shortcake. Kids plate was Chicken and Mac n cheese with jello (fruit inside). It was good!

Food is over priced! A very small bowl of in season fruit was $2.79. The staf was outstanding and very nice.

The service was very good and there were many options to find something that you like. The pricing and menu were a bit confusing for someone who had never been there before, with it being cafeteria style, but options to purchase each item individually or a certain number of different items (sides, bread, etc). The food was decent, although nothing special that would leave me wanting to come back another time.

Delicious, fresh, and a plentiful selection. Had liver and onions. Liver was tasty and tender. Brussel sprouts and greens beans. I highly recommend this MCL location on 86th and Township.

Generally have great food and food selections. On 5/28 I ordered a beef manhattan to go. I was very disappointed due to the meat was tough with absolutely no flavor or seasoning on it and my mashed potatoes were of a runny, thin consistency. I just wasnt satisfied with the meal as I usually am

I live in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Was so excited to be dining at MCL off of 86th street just to be disappointed. On March 19th we dined at the restaurant. We order around$37 worth of food. The fried chicken was good and the catfish was okay. The garlic rolls were cold, the Green beans were cold, they tasted like they came straight out of a can with oil thrown on top of it, it had no flavor whatsoever! The macaroni and cheese was disgusting! The pecan pie and strawberry shortcake was pretty good.The server was polite we left him a good tip.

The food here was not the best mashed potatoes was kind of blan didnt get the gravy on it because it was kind of watery I was told this place would good but was disappointed in the end would try it again just this place wasnt the best the employees were nice but just needs work with the food

Have been going to MCL since I was a kid with my grandparents. They have one of the best beef Manhattan sandwiches Ive ever had in my life and the strawberry shortcake is always the perfect desert.

I love MCL. Especially the wonderful cloverleaf rolls. The only problem is that I want to have everything I see. Their vegetable soup is also very good.

Not good. Completely over priced. Spent 40 on two people for an entree two sides, drink and dessert. This would be a good price if the food was worth it but this food is the same quality you would get from a hospital.

You HAVE to get the Chicken Pot Pie!!! Delicious!

I went the other day and bought stuffed chicken 🐔 the stuffing was doughy and the bottom of that was burnt. I had a piece of cake and it was not moist it was dry. The only thing good on cake was the icing.

Love the chicken n noodles that they serve on Sundays. Reminds me of my grandmas. All wonderful home cookin food. You can go through the buffet line to eat there, or go to the take out counter for take out. At lunch, youll usually spend under $10 per person with a meal. They have a great bakery and deserts section, which is extra $, but recommended. The people are very nice, and theyll even help carry your tray to your seat if you need it. Its a very comfortable environment for everyone. They have different specials every day of the week, and you can check those out on their website. I dont think they serve beer, wine, or alcohol, but Im not positive of that. If youre craving your grandmas great home cooked food, MCL is the place to go. Enjoy! 😁👍

Very disappointing...cold food...unable to eat salad because of all the dressing...line staff unorganized and not friendly...server never came to our table a single time. Not what we usually expect when we go to MCL.

The selection is fabulous! Each day is a different menu. To cut down on price, look eating the daily special or use their Senior Discount offered at 2pm, for people 60 and older. Bon Apetite!

Usually, I really like MCL for the most part. But this location cannot get their portions correct. I spent 18 dollars on food that did not fill me up all the way and the food itself was below average. I would describe my roast beef as a used up leather shoe that just got spit out of a vacuum cleaner. It was very dry and for 7 dollars I got one piece of it. The mac and cheese was a very strange consistency and was not creamy whatsoever. The best part of the meal was store bought bread. The workers were not very friendly and when I asked for something they didnt even try to find the solution. I will not be coming back to this location.

Restaurant closed at 9....we entered at 8. It is an a la carte establishment. The workers had yet to start closing for the evening. Food was fresh and tasty. The chicken livers were on point! Our server, who is essentially someone who wanders around checking on folks, was very helpful and fulfilled all our needs!

I love MCL. I love their food. However my husband and I ate lunch there today and it cost us $36.69. Neither of us are big eaters...soo you decide.

Unfortunately the quality has gone way down at this location. Decor and cleanliness need an upgrade. Too expensive for what it is. The egg custard was not set all the way so I couldnt finish the bottom portion. Employees on the line were arguing and swearing at each other. Although it seemed to be overly loud playful banter it was still inappropriate. Server was focused on a regular customer. Others had to keep getting her attention for their needs. I wont go back to this location but rather visit the one in Avon

Fried chicken superb as always. Nice cafeteria with lots of windows. Wish they had good mashed potatoes and gravy. Tasteless potatoes and no white gravy. Twice baked potatoes tasted much better than they looked. Broccoli salad very good.Coconut cream pie good. Crust ok but not like grandmas.Quick comfort food on the run.

Food is always good and dependable today I think I had the largest piece of Swiss steak Ive ever had and the vegetable topping must have had at least a serving of carrots in it. I go there most every Sunday for the Swiss steak. I eat lots of vegetables and there are always more vegetables that I like then I can choose but its nice to have a large selection to choose from the dining room help are normally friendly and prompt in anticipating what you might need or want or getting it when you ask for it which was again the case today.

Fried chicken is tasty and crunchy the way its supposed to be. Customer service is fantastic! Jasmine was my waitress--a real sweet young lady! There was actual excitement in the staffs voices as they greeted and served--so delightful! It made me want to eat more. I dont visit often because I end up spending too much, but on the occasion when Im hungry for a hot cafeteria style meal, Im glad to drop in. Giving a 4 because I tried the bread pudding and was sadly disappointed. It tasted like old bread attempting to be disguised as bread pudding.

I have eaten at MCL in the past several times. Was satisfied. But today I had boiled potatoes which were almost crunchy. When notified they replaced them with macaroni and cheese. The macaroni tasted like craft macaroni and cheese. Pecan pie is still the best in town. Service was great.

Very high prices for for middle of the road food. Talapia filet was very small and $7.50 for one filet, chicken breast medium sized was $5.00. There is much better places to eat if paying this kind of prices.
