Great selection for home brew supplies. Staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. They offer in store shopping or in store pickup as well as shipping. We recently had an issue with a part and the staff offered advice and directed us to the right person to solve the issue and now it’s working great! So glad this place is in Indy!

Ordered an extract beer kit from great fermentations about a week ago. It was delivered promptly in about 3 to 4 days. I look forward to making the beer kit soon.

This shop has all of your fermenting needs. They have wine making supplies, beer brewing supplies, soda making supplies, and cheese making supplies. They also have a refrigerator with Taps on it with samples of beer! My dad makes wine that is why he goes but I go there for the bread making classes and cheese making classes.

I am an absolute beginner as far as wine/beer making are concerned. The staff were very considerate and helpful. They did not try to hard sell any items to me in the store. The store itself was very neat and organized. It is a little expensive, but I went ahead and purchased some items. We need to support small business in these times. Its a nice place you should stop by if you get the chance.

So easy to deal with and same day pickup is excellent! Ive called a few times with non-product questions (would a cider base, juices, or extracts be better for my cider, etc.) and theyve always been happy to talk. Ordered a beer kit on Saturday. I received a confirmation of my order being placed. I never got a shipping confirmation. After contacting customer service, they stated they were experiencing heavy orders and could take five business days. This was not explained during the ordering process. I’ve ordered from other brew shops in the same time period and had no delays

I love this place. Ive been shopping here since the early days when it was in Broad Ripple and was a lot smaller. Homebrewing has blown up since those days, and how lucky Indianapolis has been to have Great Fermentations to grow right along with the hobby! My involvement in brewing has waxed and waned over the years, and Ive watched some of the employees of the store from the old days move on to other things, including starting breweries of their own. The shop has grown and changed with the times. What has never changed is the level of friendly, knowledgeable service that you will get when you come through the doors. Whether its sorting out a problem with a project, coming up with a recipe, finding some particular ingredient, or even just chatting with someone else who shares some interests, they will make sure you get what you need. The prices are very competitive as well, so it usually makes more sense for me to pop in than to order on Amazon (I live just 2 or 3 minutes away). I was really excited when I saw that they had opened up additional stores. A place this great deserves to experience that kind of success. Thanks for always being just what this hobby needs!

The staff was very knowledgeable. One thing to note if youre getting a beer kit you must get yeast AND primer sugar. I was not made aware that the primer sugar was not included just was told I need to purchase the yeast.

My go to place for all of my brewing needs. They have a vast selection of items for brewing, wine making, and distilling. Whether you need grains, yeast, or supplies great fermentations is bound to have them. They also have a very helpful staff that will assist you with any of your needs. Its a little bit out of your way if you live in downtown but the short drive is well worth it!

Ive been using Great Fermentations as my primary online supplier for my homebrewing (mead not beer) for a couple of months. Everything Ive received from them has arrived in great condition, and was packed with care. Even with some shipping delays due to Covid warned about on their website, all my orders have arrived in a very timely fashion. Im am very pleased with their service.

Walked in first time. Greeted within browsing selection and asked if Id been before. No, so was offered a tour of the facility, which man oh man, they have everything youll need. Wine, beer, mead, cheese, hot sauce, etc vessels and containers and enzymes and yeasts and hops and grains and man. Absolutely friendly bunch and very good stock of supplies.

Ordered some supplies online and they accidentally sent me the grain kit instead of extract. Called and Wes got me taken care of in minutes.

This is an awesome place to go get brewing supplies for beer, wine, and even cheese. The staff are very helpful to both experienced and novice Brewers. If youre looking to create something specific you can ask for a recipe for a brew and they will print out instructions. You can also sign up for beer brewing classes, wine brewing classes, and cheese making classes, which I found very helpful in my exploration of fermentation. The staff is very laid back, so dont be afraid to walk right in and say hi. They have fostered the local community of Brewers, and for that, I love them.

This place is a thing of beauty. Every employee is more than willing to go out of their way to make you smile. They have suggestions for your brewing needs and backup plans incase those dont work. You can even call them on the phone and they will help you however they can. The prices are a tad higher than most online stores but I dont mind because I get to talk to a human when spending my $$$. Go check them out, you wont be disappointed!

Most of the staff here is friendly, and knowledgeable. Ive had unpleasant service from the older fellow who works there. Not sure if intentional, but always seems to talk down to me in a way that the other guys/gals dont. Very good on tank swaps, and have just about any hardware you could want, on hand. So if I can avoid him, and dont mind paying a bit higher prices on ingredients than perhaps are otherwise available (the price of convenience) - its a nice shop.

If you want to get into a beverage related hobby, Great Fermentations has you covered --and probably has a class on how to get started in the hobby. They have great in-house kits that make a great batch of beer. A good selection of books to create your own beverages (beer, soda, wine) from. The selection of equipment is always top notch too... AND if you have a question (and Ive had more than my fair share over the years) theyll offer advice on how to get straightened back up and save your batch.

You can get virtually anything here to make anything fermented or anything beer or wine related. I went here looking for a kombucha starter kit and potentially some information about cheese making, they had all of those. the associates were very knowledgeable and very helpful on all the questions I had. The amount of equipment and information available for beer kits and wine kits was expansive. The prices from what I could see on most of the items was comparable to what you would find online.

Great people, variety of supplies and willingness to offer good advice. Fast shipping when you cant make it to the store. Makes me happy to just go in and browse. Wish I lived closer to take advantage of the classes they offer.

I have had a kegerator for a couple years and never knew much about caring for it and cleaning it until I visited Great Fermentations. The crew there is so helpful and willing to share best practices. They always thank me for coming in and take the time to help out!

Awesome brewing shop (beer, wine, cider, kombucha, vinegar). Reasonable prices to exchange CO2 tanks. Their kegerator fridge has free samples of local brews for the tasting.

Its a bummer they closed their Avon store as it is no longer nearly as convenient. That said, if you are in a pinch they are within an hour drive. Good staff, good products, and some really good kits.

These guys are always helpful, and will take all kinds of time to go over the ins and outs of the brewing experience. The equipment there isnt necessarily always top-of-the-line for most stuff, but they do a good job to try and pick affordable equipment that the average person is going to use. Some of the brewing kits that they make in house are often very similar to popular beers in the market, and they do a great job of explaining the flavor profiles and the ingredients and why they were chosen. Price seems to be about on par for what you would expect from a local shop. Its obviously not as cheap as Amazon or an online option, but the customer service more than makes up for the difference. I feel like I learn something new each time that I go here, and its always a really enjoyable experience.

They were very nice and happy to help me find what I needed. They are stocked with anything and everything you could need to brew at home. Their prices were reasonable as well.

Every time I visit Great Germentations, I leave happy. Today was no exception! The employees helped me put together a kegerator conversion kit part by part and also helped me put together a recipe for my next batch of beer. Although I paid more for the parts compared to online pricing, I am happy to support a brick and mortar store that employs so many knowledgeable people.

Great place to learn about home brewing and purchase all your supplies. They have a wide variety of fermentation kits. They also have a great knowledge of the brewing proceess, are very helpful and willing to answer all your questions. I took a beginners brewing class there that i thought was very good. Cant say enough good things about this store. Im a new brewer and the staff is knowledgeable, helpful and patient. Even though I dont live in the area this is my favorite, go-to brew shop. Plenty of ingredients, kits & supplies at pretty reasonable prices, plus beer samples and lots of expertise.

Im a first-time Brewer. I stopped in at great fermentations to purchase some products that I would need for my first attempt and the staff there was extremely friendly another customer there was even able to offer insights on their own experience in brewing the meat that I am actually looking at brewing for my first at attempt. overall although Im not sure how this is going to turn out I would definitely recommend great fermentations to any of my friends looking to do any brewing and I most certainly myself will be back.
