Local favorite. Very high quality meats, cheeses, and sausages. Knowledgeable and friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating. A bit pricing but this is well worth the quality of ingredients and taste. Offer locally produced products. Clerks ready to answer any question. They know their stock well. The Goose and the Gander sandwiches are particularly tasty.

Absolutely loved this place. The store has a large selection with some local finds and some non local. Their meat is the first thing to come for while their bread and alcohol is what to stay for. I like that there are sitting area for you to enjoy your sandwich or gelato. This is a market that allows you to come in for multiple reasons. I can’t wait to come back again for more things to try like their coffee/Gelato! I also appreciate that they have military discount, along with sales on items that are well displayed.

Excellent spot filled with delectable sandwiches, charcuterie, breads, and more. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about their products and services. The cost of a sandwich is moderately priced...not super cheap but not expensive either. The sandwiches are filled to an acceptable level on some excellent (crunchy) baguette...and the flavor is great as well.Seating is limited and there is additional parking in a gravel lot across the street. My only ding was they had one person working coffee, register, and phone orders...not the most efficient of arrangements. The meat case reminded me of a quality French shop.An alternate location in Carmel would be a welcome addition that could easily give Joe’s Butcher Shop a run for its money.

I’ve been here 15 or so times in the past year and I have yet to be treated with kindness. The staff is curt when you ask them questions about meat or for help with sandwiches. There is an air of arrogance in which they expect you to know how their store operates the second you walk in the door and you get scolded for not knowing their nuances. It’s a shame because I like their product (good meat selections, ok fish) but can’t get good enough service to feel comfortable stepping foot in the store. Their website for online ordering is laggy and counterintuitive. I just wish Goose would do better.

We had never been there before and bought the sandwiches based on food site reviews. We ordered the Batali and the Goose. Both excellent choices. The Batali had more flavor and a little more bite. It was probably our favorite. The bread is a harder, chewier bread. Had really good flavor and texture. We approve and recommend.

On successive weeks I used a gift certificate from work and got the Batali and Andretti sandwiches. The baguette they were served on was fantastic. Finally a crusty bread in the Midwest! As to the Batali, I ordered in the store since the phone was not being answered. I am glad I placed the bag on the floor mat or it would have ruined my car seat. Oil was actually dripping from it. Loaded with giardiniera, but seriously lacking the quality meats Goose is supposed to be known for. Let alone the variety of items listed for the sandwich. I tried again with the Andretti and was similarly disappointed. Although I was able to order by phone. Plenty of banana pepper, and a skim coating of the featured pork shoulder. No Monterey jack, oil, vinegar, or oregano that I could find. Not sure how the pork tasted since there was little of it. This gourmet sammie was dry as a popcorn fart. Maybe you need to be a regular to get the sandwiches seen in the review photos. Glad I did not have to spend my own cash on this fare.

A neat little neighborhood shop with coffee, gelato, gourmet meats, sandwiches and soup, local produce/packaged food and in the cellar theres wine and beer. Can I just say that if you must take anything from my review its this.... the Batali is hands down the best sandwich Ive ever eaten. If youve never had a Batali well then.... youve never had a real sandwich. It can be spicy though and messy... actually very messy to eat but oh so, so good. Their staple sandwiches are Goose and Batali then they offer special sandwiches which are fun to try. For a more local experience, head north of downtown near Fall Creek (an actual creek) to a neighborhood called Fall Creek Place. Theres a small strip of businesses including this local market. Heres whats to love:1) Space: Its an actual market known for its deli. You can also buy a few other locally made items and the theres a beer/wine cellar (with seating) in the basement that you cant miss. Upstairs, theres outdoor seating and window seating for guests. Theres a bathroom in the back.2) Food: It all is amazing, but I recommend the batali sandwich for lunch. Its packed with meats and cheeses and is a well down sandwich. Great place to try new things. I had them to cater my dogs first birthday at Metazoa. (yes, you heard that right). They did an amazing job and will go back to them again.Ease of ordering: I ordered a charcuterie board for about 12 people, and you can order either by calling in, going in person or online. Ive never been there so I went in to see what the place was like. Im glad I did because there were so many options and to be honest it was a little overwhelming because Ive never really ordered a charcuterie board somewhere and there was so many types of meats and cheeses Ive never heard of. However, the person who helped me made it very easy. She asked what kind of things I liked and if I wanted to get really adventurous with the choices. For my group, I wanted to keep it a little mild. But she basically handled everything and all I had to do was pick it up.Pick up: Pick went easy, on the day of the event all I had to do was show up. I didnt know what to expect but I wish a brought or asked for a box. Carrying all the parts was a little difficult. I got to choose an option of either bread or crackers, I picked both. I got a mix of their sesame crackers and two baguettes. Along with that I got 3 platters of cheese / meats with a couple of wax paper placemats that had all the names of what was on the platters. All I had to do was match the platter with the placement. Basically cheese by numbers, It was really easy.Cost: There are different plans they offer for catering, but from what I remember we got a tour which roughly came out to $11.00 a person. Thinking about the amount you got, quality and variety - I thought it was a great deal. Its obviously cheaper to do it yourself, but like I mentioned before, you get a variety of things to try that you probably wouldnt try on your own.Overall: I was very pleased with their selection. the cheese boards had some familiar things as well as things I probably would have never chosen on my own. The feedback from my friends were a positive one as well. One thing I wish I asked for were some fruit or vegetables, but I dont think they offer that. All in all, great food and will go back again.

Its a very nice place. Fresh meats, great selection of cheeses, quality produce, attentive sales guys, nice wine cellar. If you are thinking about whether to go or not - go. I just wanted to say why I deducted one star, maybe it will make a difference. The French bread used in sandwiches is supposed to have bite to it. Their French bread has so much bite it almost bites you back. IDK If its poorly baked or simply stale, but it takes a while to chew it. Secondly, what is wrong with the plates? They make a sandwich, wrap it in brown paper and hand it to you even if youre eating in. I like plates. Those are small things, hopefully they will fix them. The impression is overwhelmingly positive.

I went to Goose this past Friday, and had a bit of a hiccup - so minor it isn’t worth going to, but enough of an annoyance I brought it to the attention of the owner, Chris. I always think a great business isn’t defined by its best day or best moment. Quite the contrary. Businesses are operated by people, so there are going to be mistakes. The question is: do you learn from them and take corrective action for the customer? Chris could not have been more thoughtful and hospitable. I’ll be going back to be sure. The steak and the service is top shelf.
