Love the atmosphere of this place. People go here to play board games (available to rent) and have some good doughnuts and beer. I’d come back again

My daughter and I were driving to Michigan and spent the night in Indianapolis and happened to see this doughnut shop when we realized panera was closed inside (she is a gamer )so we decided to get some doughnuts, so glad we did! We only bought one of the butterbeer doughnuts but we wished we had bought a dozen those were the best doughnuts EVER!!!! MMMM...YUMMY, If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stop in again 😋

Today was our very first visit. I had seen a post that was trending on Twitter & just had to visit! The doughnuts are like no other pastries Ive eaten before & have fallen in love. The art and staff are real nice too. They made us feel welcome & I hope to soon come back with my boyfriend for a date. Thanks for having us today. 🐺👍

Today was first time here. There are all kinds of gourmet or what might be described as upscale donut shops sprouting up all over the place. I like most of them. However D&D is a notch above everywhere I’ve been. I had the Hawaiian donut today. Ridiculous! The donut is light, not heavy, plenty of cream filling, icing and toasted coconut! Crazy good! The facility itself is really attractive. Staff, super nice! Enjoy your morning, enjoy their coffee and dine in! When you dine in you realize they have a reasonable beer selection and that the place is also where you can go and play board games!! Whaaaaaaat…..Definitely coming back for donuts, and maybe for some Battleship and beer!!

I came in just to check it out and ended up spending two glorious hours chatting with the staff (Ash is a delight) about games, tarot, life, and cats. The doughnuts and beer were choice - if you like coffee flavours, go for the Atwater. 🤟🏼 Ill mos def be back.

Tried another new donut place at 82nd and Dean.. donuts are rich in taste, are obviously not simple donuts. There is simple glazed yeast but thats as simple as it gets. If your looking for a simple jelly filled, or cream filled you may be out of luck.They have coffee.. but nothing fancy at all, cold or hot.Big beer selection and games you have to reserve to play.Every one is very kind. I enjoyed the sketching of characters.Donut prices 1.50- 4.50. Find a coupon in the neighborhood pack in the mail.. so the price tag doesnt hit so hard. They arent busy so simple in and out or sit and eat.

Cool little place. More for adults than toddlers. The nitro brew coffee is not an espresso cup of coffee but infused with nitro. My husband liked it. All workers were so sweet and helpful!!

I’m not normally a donut person but met up with friends here and had to get one. They’re so delicious! Also great service and a really nice place to play games. Plenty of room between tables and they even have some tables outside. Really reasonable prices for donuts and games. And it wasn’t too busy even on a Friday night. We will be back for sure.

Craft doughnuts mixed with D&D atmosphere... Yup they nailed it. Great creations that seem well thought out and the gaming atmosphere pair well and make you want to sit and stay awhile... Perhaps even long enough for a game. Really enjoyed our stop here.

This place....so damn good. It is the best gourmet donut shop in Indianapolis overall, if you like donuts with filling. Ive been blown away each time Ive had something. The Pineapple one is next on my hit list.

If you havent tried it yet, you need to! They have delicious flavors and they vary their menu so its always a fun surprise to see what you might get. Some of the flavors that Ive LOVED so far are cookies n cream, butter beer, peach, blackberry cheesecake, strawberry chocolate, salted caramel. Theres more but thats all I remember from recent visits. The atmosphere on site is also perfect for gaming, but I have to admit Ive only made it there for the food so far.

The donuts were fantastic and very well priced. We got 6 donuts for $13. We didnt try the beer since we were there early. We were bummed that the games were closed off but now we know we will just bring our own. Its a nice big place with plenty of room for bigger groups too.

Got to stop in with my son again coming back from vacation. The donuts are delicious! Son was kind of bummed because (hopefully this is right) Cricket wasn’t in. He had a blast talking with him about his drawings and loved the picture he had given him. Heck, I liked talking about beer with him. The options there are insane and definitely won’t find a mixture anywhere else.

This might be controversial, but these are the BEST donuts in Indy, hands down, no holds barred.The modern take on flavor combinations while maintaining classic style is truly awesome. I am always pleasantly surprised by the variety of options available and can never pick just one or two. They use quality ingredients, and so are very much worth the calories!The first time I bit into a chocolate cream stick, I was instantly transported back to a childhood memory of getting Sunday donuts with my grandparents. So, with that hit of nostalgia, they have a huge fan right here.The staff is incredibly kind and courteous every time I come in. The atmosphere is spacious, and the hospitality welcoming and inclusive!

I had a Chocolatey Cakey Donut that was super moist and delicious. It was melt in my mouth. I tried to eat half and save the rest for later but had no restraint. Now I am debating if I should eat my Husbands too!

Came in Saturday evening with my family. What have we been missing??? The donuts were delicious, the board games endless and the beer was fantastic! The bartender, didn’t catch his name, helped me out and nailed it. Our only complaint was the smell. Someone had brought there dinner in and it permeated onion. Our son hates the smell so we cut the evening short. We hope to come back soon.

Truly one of the more unique spots in Indy. Not only do they have a good beer selection and great craft donuts, but being able to try such a wide variety of games for only $10/hour as of the time of writing this is an absolute steal. Whether you want to get the family together and play a classic or have an adults night and play a board game that would cost $100- to purchase it, theres something here for everyone.

Every single doughnut was amazing!!!! Best doughnuts we have had in Indy!!!! Harvest peach, blueberry lemon basil, Hawaiian, cookie n’cream, Hibiscus ginger and coffee twist are AMAZING!!! The flavors and the bake of them are spot on. Plus the coffee is good, too. Perfection! The staff is friendly, helpful and so easy to talk to, please go there!

Where else can you get fresh gourmet doughnuts and dragons, right? Have a board game, bring a board game or play (rent) the house games, its your choice and it will be a good time. Besides a dozen style of doughnuts they have 20+ draught beer selections in addition to coffee, soda and other soft beverages. We spent several hours there playing games we brought and it was all very casual and had a good time. Staff was available as we needed them and were very unobtrusive and friendly. Planning future trips with coworkers and friends.

I didnt expect good doughnuts but they were great. Airy and fluffy with great taste. They have a wide wine and beer selection and a great game selection. Games are $1 a person which is a great price because they have to maintain games and buy new ones.The atmosphere was wonderful. It was crowded but not noisy or over stimulating just a happy background noise. It was great to see people of all ages playing games of all types.There is a call button on the table to get service or get the bill. Which felt awkward at first but it works great.I only wish this was closer to my house.Thanks for the great visit.

Fantastic place, amazing and unique donuts with incredibly friendly staff. We had fun ordering secret beer flights for each other while playing board games outside in the warm weather. Plan on coming here again soon.

All the staff is so kind and courteous. They are so welcoming. I can’t recommend this place enough. You can bring in your own games or reserve a table for a party. Our family really enjoys our time here.

Had a great time here with a group of friends. The donuts are good and not terribly overpriced... they have some staples but also some unique flavors, like the Guinness mint chocolate cake donut. They serve beer but they also have a decent selection of non-alcoholic beverages... gamers especislly will appreciate the Mountain Dew Code Red available.They also have an extensive library of games but people can also bring their own. Service was friendly and the place just looks nice and inviting. Overall great experience!

Friendly counter person. Seems like a fun place. Way better than the Mongolian BBQ that sullied this location for years, thats for sure. Could use a bigger game library and sound muffling panels, but over all its a good place.

Hawaiian dole whip donut.!!Best office anyone could ask for. Lots of natural lot, cool industrial feel, big tables, couches and chairs if you want something softer. Doughnuts are great. Some how crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Wish they served more breakfast foods but other thant that. I love it.

Stopped in this weekend with my son after his games. Hidden paradise! The donuts were delicious and there is beer! The bartender, Cricket, is the real deal. He helped me pick from there choices and he nailed it! He made it super easy and fun. We do wish we could have played some games but get it. Definitely coming back when we have another tournament.

Doughnuts were great! Surprisingly their Hawaiian doughnut was my favorite and I usually dont like pineapple/coconut things. Cant play the games unless you reserve a room due to covid, but Im happy they are putting health and safety first.

This place is truly unique. I love their concept of a place to play games, eat doughnuts, and drink beer if thats your thing. They have a great selection of beer, ciders and wine. Their game selection is massive with in house explanations of the rules at every table.The doughnuts were not the best Ive had but they were unique. Very impressed with the donut selection and they were as tasty as they looked. The lemon basil and white chocolate raspberry donut were most excellent, but all were very good. Would definitely like to return post covid for family fun gaming and donuts, and a pint. Staff was very friendly. Highly recommend grabbing a dozen and a bullet of your favorite beer to support these guys during the pandemic. Very much looking forward to the return trip! Maybe next time, they will have a less pedestrian Tripel on tap and it will be a five star experience. 😉

The doughnuts are definitely worth the price, the filled ones are bursting and the dough is pillowy soft. The counter staff was stand out, friendly and welcoming and chatted about the Junior Gold bowling tournament when they noticed my kid wearing a jersey. If I find myself back in Indy this will be a must stop!

I come here to work on D&D and write. Usually get 2-3 cups of coffee and a doughnut or two over a couple hours. I mostly keep earbuds in but theres something about the atmosphere that makes it a good creative place.Also all their doughnuts are great, take a dozen home at 10% off its worth it.

Excellent selection of unique doughnuts and Indiana beers. Staff was helpful, kind, and uplifting. The interior is comfortable, clean, and set up for socialization. They have a game library that will hopefully be open again soon (COVID-19 restrictions). I will definitely be coming back.

Donuts were alright, and the drink selection was fantastic. After the 45min drive though I was disappointed to see the game library wasnt available due to Covid. They might consider selling dice or cards until it reopens for people who cant drive home to grab a game. Will try again though

Update August 2020: Doughnuts & Dragons is open for doughnut take-out! Board-game playing is not yet allowed, as a precaution against COVID-19. The legendary Turtle Cheesecake doughnut has been discontinued for a while, but the Hawaiian is a worthy successor. Also, D&D has become a Pokestop!I stopped by this new place earlier today, intrigued by the name. Post-entry, I was further intrigued by the spaciousness of the place - perhaps the most spacious doughnut shop Ive ever seen. Plenty of tables and comfortable seating, and two walls thickly stocked with board games of all sorts. (Customers are welcome to play the games, as described already in other reviews.) Two customers were already enjoying a mid-day game of chess. I purchased two doughnuts, and after they were gone, two more to go. My favorite: the Blueberry-stuffed Lemon-Basil glazed. Very tasty and flavorful, sweet without being overbearing. D&D has a very nice ambience, and very good doughnuts! Also, it was *clean.*There are many good places to eat in this part of Indianapolis, and each has its own niche. For doughnuts, 3838 E. 82nd St. is the place to go!

Good doughnuts but I wish there was more of a selection of non-over the top with frosting choices. The ones we got were good but I wouldnt go back and try other ones. I like creative, I like different flavors, but dont want to bite through an inch of frosting before I get to the doughnut :-)

This place is great. There are a lot of large tables and is a great place to hang out with friends. I went on opening day. It will be exciting to see how they grow.Update: I did not love the donuts opening day. They were less sweet than I was expecting. I came again in November and they had added to their selection. We had the Classic Glazed and White Chocolate Cranberry and loved them!

What a wonderful doughnut shop!The Butter Beer cake doughnut was on splendid, with just enough glaze to let the cake shine through. The Cookie Butter yeast doughnut was satisfying. The flavor is not something that I really prefer but the yeast doughnut itself was marvelous! It was fluffy yet dense, with a wonderful texture that you can only find in a doughnut made with care.Doughnuts & Dragons has a wonderful selection of beer and wine. In an area like Castleton where the norm is for restaurants to have 30+ beers on tap, I was glad to see them not only follow suit but to have a decent variety of unique beers. To top all of this off, they have huge selection of board games! They have 50+ games for you to play and multiple copies of each.

They always have a great variety of fresh, custom flavored donuts, good coffee options and a decent beer selection on tap.Its also a fun atmosphere for tabletop gamers.

Disappointed, stopped on our way home to Ohio and they were out of doughnuts! Nice that they are open late, but maybe keep ample supply of the cakey goodness!

I cant wait to come back to this place and eat the foods and drink the drinks and play games.

Some top-notch donuts. Sad that the northside can’t seem to keep a gourmet donut place in business. Hopefully this one withstands the pandemic.The chocolate ganache on the plain ol’ chocolate with sprinkles was pretty amazing. We really liked all of the donuts except for the pumpkin spice latte one. The coffee flavor was just kind of off putting. But that’s just a matter of personal preference, of course.Any of the ones with the lemon glaze were just top-notch. Added a nice touch of sour to the other flavors involved.It was 9 AM on a Sunday when we went so I didn’t get a chance to experience the bar. But they seem to have a lot of beer on tap and a lot of games ready to be played when we eventually unlock. Staff was very friendly and enthusiastic.Go support this place so they can stay with us!

I’m glad this place survived, and since we are on the trailing side of the pandemic, let’s count this place as a best kept secret. BUT, As word gets out they are back and it’s one of the few places on the Northside of INDY that makes real donuts, it won’t stay this way long. Go now before they get real busy

Blake and Crickett run an awesome gaming establishment, the donuts are super fresh and the games are on point. Also carry one of my favorite Indiana craft breweries, Terre Haute Brewing Company. Check these dudes out.

Great doughnuts! No vegan or gluten free varieties yet but they are working on the recipes. A wide selection of beer and they also serve mead and cider. They sell to-go beer in single serve bottles. The staff are sweet and helpful and follow all county guidelines for covid. I will be coming back.

Ive been looking forward to this place opening and today did not disappoint. After trying some samples and chatting for a bit we bought a selection to take back to work. Everyone working was very friendly and all of the doughnuts were fantastic. Im really looking forward to coming back soon.

Came in with my friends Thursday and was extremely surprised! The donut was delicious and the drinks were great. The waitress was super attentive (Kayla I believe) and the bartender (Cricket??) was awesome and everywhere! We are definitely coming back

A wonderful concept, beautifully executed. They had a nice selection of doughnut flavors and they were all delish. They also had a large variety of games in the game library that were available to rent for a very small fee. The menu for the games gave a description, category, gameplay type, and difficulty rating to each of the games, which will help you decide which game might be for you. We will definitely be back and hope in time that they are able to expand on their concept by offering other food and drink selections.

I went there today with my three kids to grab donuts. They spoke very rudely to a family with a two year old who wasn’t wearing a mask. I can respect the mask part and I completely agree that all customers should wear a mask but the kid was two years old. The tone of voice, attitude, and way it was said by the employee was uncalled for. They made the family feel very uncomfortable and it was not a way to treat your customers. Their flavors of donuts are very good but not many options to choose from. I probably won’t go back again after my experience today.

I seriously love this place!! The doughnuts are amazing! This was my first time going and we got a dozen. We loved them so I sent my mom to get a dozen herself! Im in love with the oreo one and butterbeer. My husband loved the white chocolate raspberry and key lime. Whenever I want a doughnut, this is where Im headed!

Ive been wanting to check this place out! On Saturday since I was running some errands and I didn’t want a full breakfast I decided to pop in here.Located in what once was a benni Hana style place you can now find doughnuts and dragons, the staff is very friendly and prompt and the location is clean and welcoming.All the donuts are home made in the back and on display in the front so you can put a “face” to a name, I decided to go for the cannoli donut, it was pretty good! Cream filled with chocolate and covered in pistachios.D and D also has a coffee selection but I decided to go with the circle city kombucha ginger lemon.A whole wall is devoted to craft beers, instead of going local I tried the rheingist nitro stroberry, tasty place I’ll be back for more donuts and maybe some game play

Their key lime doughnut was magnificent, and their games were so much fun. We didnt have our DnD stuff, but their reservations for their games of 10.00 an hour are so cheap!
