The Payne family & staff have been my source of hearing aids since the 1960s and I trust them to keep me hearing well til I leave this life someday.Experienced, dedicated, excellent knowledge of hearing losses and current hearing aid technology.Most of all, they are HONEST and do not try to sell you something you do not need. I have been a patient of Dr Payne Associates for over 37 years. The founder of the clinic, Dr Payne, was himself hard of hearing and quickly determined that the hearing aids I was fitted from L S Ayres were poorly fitted, of inferior quality and not correct for my hearing loss.There is a widespread misconception that hearing aids are simply volume amplifiers. WRONG!! This widespread belief has led most folks to think getting hearing aids is as easy as getting glasses.Hearing loss is unique to individuals. Think of deafness as a form of color blindness where color spectrum equates to deafness defined by sounds frequencies. Different hearing aids are better for different types and levels frequency losses.I have been very pleased with the continuation of excellent service Dr Paynes sons John, Robert and his grandson Carl. As a US Army retired civilian, they also are very knowledgeable aboutMilitary hearing issues and SPRINT testing.Because of their expertise, I was able to deploy overseas to Afghanistan in 2008 and again in 2017 with well fitted hearing aids. These aids enabled me to obtain wavier from CENTCOM after scoring well enough on the Army SPRINT test.This was no small feat.FYI, I was born hard of hearing and have over 40 percent deafness.Try them, please do not fall for quick and cheaper hearing aids advertised (eg Miracle Ears, etc).
