This is a great place to play Magic. The players are welcoming to new people, and the staff is very helpful.

Super cool store. Drove in from out of town pick up a couple dice sets and some Dungeons & Dragons game played pieces. The dude behind the counter was pretty cool, answered all my typical Noob questions. All in all pretty cool store. There were people playing games while we shopped, not a bother. We actually dug through all of the figurines they had on the Shelf and was there for quite a while. Nobody said a word or even gave us a second look as we picked through and dug through shelves and shelves of different figurines looking for that perfect figurine that we needed for our game. Dice sets were priced Fair. If anything could be improved, it would be to have more figurines and stock. But, they had so many and sock already that I cant possibly think they could really carry anymore. The dude was really helpful and even tried to order exactly what we were looking for. The dude at the counter instructed me as to how to remove the shield from the figurine I bought answer, answered all my questions about painting and about people that paint other figurines. Showed me some of the Blind Box contents they keep in the glass cage. Explain to me how the Blind Box contents worked. Really overall answered any questions I had it was really helpful, even though I was probably annoying the guy. Super cool store super chill. Didnt smell like bad Bo like a lot of these game playing places do. Really knowledgeable.

This place has a good selection of games, a cool atmosphere, and friendly staff. The prices are reasonable and they were running several specials on various items that were good deals. Lots of Magic the Gathering stuff, as well as board games, and RPG stuff. Super cool feature of a huge collection of action figures and 80s toys that made for a neat vibe. Will definitely be back.

A great store, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Theres a lot to like here for any gamer, be it boardgame, RPG, or CCG, and then some. Lots of minis and accessories, and well stocked with Magic:The Gathering stuff. We will be back again!

Its a nifty little shop. The service is acceptable but the staff isnt very knowledgeable about their products. I want to love this place, but it rarely has the cards I need. There is a lot of potential, but thus far it remains untapped.

Chance does such a good job with his shop. Even in this public health crisis, I was able to get all of the product I ordered weeks ago on the day of release. He runs a great operation with great staff! I cannot wait until we are allowed to get back in there for pre-releases! Cheers!

Great place the find a game of magic and D&D in house or on their bulletin board. New arcade is awesome. Will order you anything they dont have in house so a great local option to spend your money.

This was my first time back in the shop since new ownership and new location The owner Chance assisted me and was patient with me and my list and complete my order no issue. Very pleasant and also informed me about upcoming events. Will be returning again

A fantastic and friendly gaming store with a decent amount of space for open gaming. I primarily attend the 40k night on Thursdays but have stopped by on other days to pick up paints or get a game in. Staff is always friendly and they are able to quickly order items that they dont have in stock. They also have a ton of great board games, role-playing stuff, and of course a huge selection of Magic the Gathering.One piece of advice... if you are planning on setting up a game with a friend outside of the scheduled day, give the store a call to see if they have anything planned. They have a number of special events that take place like MTG tournaments, so sometimes the store is way more full than you might anticipate.

I am a cross country bicyclist that also has a root in the gaming community. I have been into a lot of shops around the country. Critical Hit in Iowa City is definitely one of the most Atmospheric! Also well stocked. The guy working while I was there was a very good multitasker helping everyone in the busy shop, and gave me a good conversation when I popped in. Great shop keep the d20 hitting criticals for me XD
