Knowledgeable staff, wonderful appearing shop with knitted showpieces and great yarn reasonably priced. Owner Edie tends to be a take-charge kind of person who can be overwhelming, but some beginners may like that.

Great selection. And I really appreciated the extra help both in finding what I needed for a few projects and getting some general questions answered. I left with more than I was coming there for, but in a good way! I cant wait to return and take a class or just sit and relax while working on something.

Wonderful to be back to the Knitting Shape! Moved away 5 years ago and stopped in while visiting family in Iowa City. Its warm and inviting, as always! Used to take knitting classes years back- and, as usual, there is always a familiar face sitting at the table, just knitting. Eadie, the owner, takes great care in finding just what you need and stocks so many varied yarns and accessories, a person need only make one stop here! Highly reccomended!!

The Knitting Shoppe was wonderful! They have a beautiful variety of colors and textures of yarns, tools, and patterns. The atmosphere is so welcoming and Eady will take the time to answer any questions including showing you how to do various stitches and techniques. The Knitting Shoppe is a gem!!
