Beautiful walk along grassy trails in magical countryside
A great selection of delicious foods.
Great tour!
Grass fed cows treated luxuriously, as all farm animals should be! Milk and cheese (made on site), and beef from the grass fed cattle.... And thats just at the farm store! Appleton has trails everywhere to explore, bluebird sanctuary, steeped in history, classes and events year round. One of the oldest farms in America! Come here alone with a book and sit under a tree, snow shoe the trails and fields in the winter, take the kids for a hike, or stock up on some awesome products at the farm store.... You cant miss, whatever you choose
Bought a gallon of whole milk with cream on top in glass container after returning an empty glass milk container. Worth the drive and dodging several muddy potholes from previous snow, ice, and rainy weather. Milk is delicious and wholesome, fresh. Definitely superior to traditional store bought supermarket brands. I hadnt had the Appleton milk for a few months. Missed it and was happy to bring it home to drink again. Price reasonable plus store has cheeses from their dairy cows and they also carry beef from their farm that excels in taste and freshness and without hormones, etc. Appleton Farms Dairy is a blessing!Unfortunately, Appleton Farm has discontinued their own milk service, but they carry another farms dairy. Also do not carry their own beef. Still have cheese made from Appleton dairy cows.
Great little store on a beautiful farm! When you enter make a left at the fork in the road and head to the front of the big barn, where the store entrance is. They have a good selection of locally made products. Try the Cape Ann honey!
Kate and Staci are amazing. I purchased some of their items at Boston Public market and loved them. I needed some assistance after the purchase and they were extremely responsive. Great products. Great service. Highly recommend.
A lot of fun for no charge. The cows were great. They milk them at 5pm and you can watch. 19 cows when we were up there.
Great farm fresh food in a beautiful setting.
Love my farm share. Its so nice to get fresh flavorful vegetables.
This place is beautiful and educational. I encourage every family to come here and explore. The shop is wonderful too.
Made homemade biscuits and gravy this morning using Appleton Farms pork sausage. Fed this to my two boys ages 8 and 4. Normally when they dont want to eat I tell them they have to eat at least have their plate, well this morning I am damn glad I decided to let them be done! I went to finish my 4 year olds plate only to bite into some meat and chip my tooth on a CHUNK OF GLASS. I will NEVER buy from this company again and I will be telling my family and friends the same! I have no idea how to upload my photos to this but I do have them and left a message with the manager!
Beautiful Farm with well taken care of animals and plants. Friendly people. Walking trails and activities year round.
The best CSA in New England! Members choose from an excellent variety of vegetables once a week, and also enjoy pick-your-own items such as strawberries, peas, and several herbs.
Love visiting this place! Its a mini vacation away from city life, which is always refreshing feeling.
A beautiful farm. Wonderful trails to walk on or go horseback riding. Great place to bring children and let them see farm animals. I love the way they make it very inviting for a family to come and see what they do. The barn that they keep carriages in really intrigued me. They have a teaching area for children. Thats the way to teach. Kids learn so much about life through farming principles. Read C. Spurgeons farming sermons, The Parable Of The Sower. This farm is a real beauty. And...they have Jersey cows which are so beautiful to gaze upon.
This was a great place to visit, make sure to visit the back of the farm!
A working farm that welcomes kids, great place for children to learn about animal care and growing vegetables.
Beautiful visit to Appleton Farms and the Farm Store. Fresh produce, delicious baked goods and the fields full of farm fresh produce are wonderful.
We happened upon this farm by luck. Were leaving Ipswich craft fair and went to the right looking for a place to turn around and saw the sign for Appleton Farms. We thought it might be an orchard and went in as we had some questions :) Turns out it is a working dairy farm, the oldest in Mass as a matter of fact. We ended up spending several hours here, took the house tour and walked around the grounds. Came across a group tour talking about the cows and found out it was milking time so we watched that. Very interesting! I would imagine it would be a nice place for a family outing as there are lots of trails for walking around. Even a grass/hay ride! The lady at the house was very pleasant and informative, but she told us to head to the carriage barn and check out the antique carriages......so we did...it was empty :) Oops :) Overall we had a very nice time here.
Very small, and quite expensive... but I guess it has good reason to be expensive since a lot of their things are from their own farm. Does make it rather hard to purchase things here though as they are over double the price of grocery stores and even other farms around here
Fresh products, come down here u will like it..
Great place to take a walk with the family. First I have to answer to Woofs review, there are PLENTY of signs on the premises that ask you not to bring a dog on the property, this is a working farm and they cannot have random animals running around, common sense and respect would have solved that part of your problem. Ok back to the review, this is a great place to take a nice walk with the family, it seems like it just goes on forever. There are cows, barns, woods, rolling meadows, it really is beautiful. They do offer a CSA program and from what I understand the waiting list is long, but for good reason. This is an excellent place for photographers also. From what I understand they recently opened up a farm stand store where they sell the milk from their cows, a great option for those who are environmentally friendly. Check it out, you will have a nice relaxing afternoon.
The precooked ribs and pulled are delicious. I would like to purchase on since I cant find them locally. Aldi doesnt carries them in summer time.
Gorgeous spot to take a walk or run. Great to bring to dogs along too.
Since 1636 providing Ipswich with local fresh farm goods. Come for the milk.C stay for the cheese.
All food products are local and fresh. Farm dinners here and regularly scheduled kids events.
