I want to thank the owners of the Ipswich Tavern! We needed to put together a Celebration of Life for my step-father on rather short notice while my mother was here from Florida. They came to the rescue with a comfortable space, great food, and quality service. They were right there serving drinks and food all night. I cant thank them enough for making a difficult time that much better:)! The Allie & Clasby Family

Great service from bartender Paul, very accommodating. Good pour. The hottest wings I ever had. (I challenge you) actual healthy options on menu. Baked haddock on white bread surprised at how good. Will be back

Good for a drink and keno. Better than it used to be as the sports bar. But not always the nicest crowed. Good bar and bartenders though.

Now called Ipswich Tavern, the interior has been upgraded to reflect more of a restaurant setting. Good food and drink.

Now the Ipswich Tavern. Really friendly waitress/bartender. Typically get the True North IPA for a drink and have enjoyed the chicken caesar wrap, thai sweet chili wings and mozzarella sticks. Have only dined on the patio, but theyve made some updates to the interior as well.

Local sports bar with a big bar, plenty of high tops, big TVs, and a pool table.Game 1 for the B’s playoffs and this place was packed. Ton of TVs and plenty of tables and chairs to squeeze in.Beers weren’t ice cold but they were cold...ish. Gotta upgrade those fridges. Wings came out warm but not hot. Bunch of good sauces, they were tasty. Grabbed some cheese bites that were real good. Again tho, need cold beer. All in all a decent spot for some bar grub, but I got a Sam Adams from the tap that again wasn’t that cold and then switched to a bud heavy bottle that was cold...ish.Service was quick, at least the beers came out quick (probably right outta a rack)....

We love this place. Its cheap, its fun, its casual. Its not *the best* but its the place to go when you want a burger or wings, a drink, and to just hang out. Manager is a good guy.

Ive been here a handful of times now in the evening after dinner for a couple drinks and it seems to get rowdy with some of the local crowd. The groups in there are usually split between younger folks around the 7ft coin operated pool table and older townspeople at the bar. Ive seen 2 altercations break out while here, but nothing serious. The drinks were reasonably priced, and the time I was there the bathrooms were in need of a bit of cleaning. This is a local watering hole and fits the bill for many.

The tall heavy set white haired Bartender was extremely rude. Hovering over me and a couple friends while we had a drink and chatted. My friends and I decided to go out side to have a cigarette As I had looked up I had noticed the bartender was staring out a side door at my friends and I we felt a little creeped out decided to go a different bar.I do not recommend super uncomfortable atmosphere.

They make potatoes like 6 different ways! They were very cool about us ordering a la carte as vegetarians, very family friendly during the day, even though it looks like a bar from the outside.

Classic Ipswich sports bar, you want a good cheap drink, or to hang with some colorful townies? Then this is the spot for you. Staff is great, theyve been there for years and know whos who and then going ons in town, its safe to say if you were in a RPG youd be able to get all the gossip here. Oddly enough this is also a great spot to watch a sports game at (shocker, I know). I cant attest to the food, Ive literally only ever been for drinks, so youre on your own for that dear reader. They have pool, touch tunes, and an outdoor patio opened year round (except during the cold months). Overall great place and part of the Ipswich experience.

I have only eaten here once, it was ok. However, few of my coworkers & friends who have been there all tell me the place is unfriendly only wanting to serve to locals. I reflected back on my time after I saw reviews posted. My experience wasnt exactly what I was hoping for either. I was treated kindly by the barkeep. However, I felt he didnt like my coworkers/friends I was with. We were an after work crowd, wanting a orders of clams and a few beers instead the barkeeper was obnoxious to my fellow friends- As a result I have no desire to venture back
