I usually dont review stores bc typically the experience will depend on the day, but I gotta say there has been a 100,000% improvement in this one over the last month or so. There was a time I would walk thru the door & be hit with the foulest odor it would make me wanna turn back around, plus ppl could barely pass each other to get to items with boxes everywhere. Now the floors are clean, the aisles are clear & organized, the smell is completely gone, and the employees are much friendlier. This is now my favorite quick stop on my way to work or home. Kudos to the new management! 👍🏽👏🏽 Please dont leave!! 😊

I love to go in Dollar General, its like a scavenger hunt you never now what good prices are hiding away from you. I really love looking on the dollar aisle. Great prices overall!

I love the staff they are always friendly, welcoming and very helpful in anything I might need help finding. I absolutely recommend shopping at this location! Even if I had to drive some miles I would just because of the excellent customer service and the atmosphere!!!!

I spent a good bit gathering items to when I get to the register the manager wouldn’t sell me my items due to “corporate not letting her sale the items” she obviously was taking it for herself. They need more eligible staff in the store, it was filthy and not organized at all.

It could be better, whenever I go in there they always have cart out in the isle in the way, hard to get what you want.

Every other week they have new people working. They NEVER have enough cashiers unless you are lucky enough to go in at a dead time. I have experienced rudeness out of atleast 3 of there employees.

The store was filthy I had to move boxes and carts to get through isles, customer service was terrible. Fire Marshall needs to investigate.

Got what you need if you cant make to Walmart to get your stuff

Worst customer service I have experienced in Alabama. Employees complaining and being ugly to customers. At least 4 employees were working and none of them were professional or helpful. I don’t recall the last time I asked a store employee a direct question only to be ignored and blown off. On top of that the store was filthy. Terrible establishment that I will not return to.

I was in the Irondale area and Googled pet supplies near me hoping I wouldnt have to drive to Trussville. (Looking for flea power) DGs ad popped up stating that they have an extensive pet supply department. They dont. I know a lot of places have limited deliveries because of COVID19. But really all they had was pet food and some treats. I didnt shop for anything else or look around and I didnt interact with any employees. So this review is based ONLY on pet supply availability and the accuracy of the ad. This really isnt a viable option for pet supplies

There were only two cashiers with a store full of people. Based on the Covid-19 guidelines, the store should have only been at 50% compacity. The store was not in compliance. Individuals in line werent 6 feet apart. I had to tell the gentleman behind me to back up. This Covid-19 pandemic is real. Very disappointed in the Irondale location.

You know? I dont know whats up with the employees attitudes at this location, but everytime Im at this location it feels like the employees despise their job. They are openly talking bad about other employees/customers or how they hate what theyre doing. News flash guys your customers can hear you, and it makes us feel like we shouldnt come back despite our dislike of Walmart.

Just generally love dollar general. The staff are always friendly and it beats going to Walmart any day.

Its always a long line and only one cashier. Takes way too long just to purchase two items. The workers are always pretty nice though.

The whole staff is very helpful and kind. They go above and beyond to make sure you are not only helped with anything you may need but they also make sure to make you feel welcome and like family!

Irondale DG is my go-to store for sundries, milk, and great buys on a variety of items. Not only is it convenient and the prices competitive, but the employees are friendly, helpful, and efficient. They make shopping there a pleasure, not a chore to be dreaded.

It was very dirty understaffed it it was no stock on the Shelf and the guy said that he was the only stock person

I came in Dollar General today and normally no problems at all but the man who checked me out today was very rude and tried to tell me how to shop. I shop in the order I want to shop not in the way he thinks I should!!! I will go back but if he is there I will leave!!!

They call it Americas General Store for a good reason! If you dont want to walk two football fields to get a gallon of milk or some cleaning supplies then DG is for you. I know it works for me!

Its always so unorganized there. Boxes are always in the middle of the isles and no one can ever get through. Its scary to walk anywhere in the store from fear that youll get crushed by the boxes. The prices are great and the employees are very nice but I dont want to risk my life trying to save on toilet tissue with a coupon.

I like it because its like a walmart compressed into this small store. They open early and close late. They have, when you least expect it, what you came in for. The emplyees are down to earth, good people( at least they act like they like their job).Thanks for helping me find the boiled peanuts..lol..

I can get what I need in minutes at a Great Price and out the door. I love that!

I liked the reasonable price for the item I bought. The atmosphere was cordial.

Thank God I dont have to treck through Walmart. This store has everything I need without the hassle of getting home to find out dated food products. Easy in and out for senior citizens who cannot walk far and prices are great. I stay more in budget shopping here.

Rudest, most aggressive employees ever!! They leave the register unattended to follow you around as if youre a thief. They were doing the same to another customer, who was so offended they left their buggy, offered to be patted down, and left. I was then checked out by the guy called out by the customer, and had to ask for my receipt, which he then thrust in my face.

Store was in good shape and enjoyable to shop.

When its really busy the line gets slow,they only have two registers and keep one open,other than that its a good place to shop cheap and quick.
