I had a great experience. I came in to replace some parts on my 20,000-plus- mile Trek, an aluminum computer bike. Not only did they find parts I thought Id never find, they exchanged my saddle with a new one. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff!
The tech was awesome (sorry I didnt get his name because we were in a rush). I brought 2 bikes in for Trek pedal recall, right before closing time. The tech not only took the service call, did a great job but also filled up air in the tires to the right pressure. Thats the kind of service which makes me come back to the store and recommend it to my friends.
Skilled and friendly staff. Mgr David went out of his way to make sure my posture on my Rail was just the way I wanted. A new handle bar was installed and now my elbow does not hurt and my hand does not get numb . Really appreciated the effort . Thank you
The service is simply best in class. Every single associate is not only very knowledgeable and professional, but also very kind and customer friendly. They were able to give me honest assessments on what was needed to service my bikes. There was no upselling. Just honest assessments. The service was completed in a very timely manner, and when we went to pick up our bikes, the entire staff was very friendly, asked us if we had any questions, and even offered to help us load our bikes. Jax Irvine made the entire experience very pleasant and I will definitely be going back to take care of all of my biking needs.
One of the only shops I’m aware of that still requires masks and makes you sit outside and wait to be let into the store to be helped. Not sure if this is COVID related or they don’t trust shoppers without an escort but it’s a very cold approach to customer service. It makes customers feel unappreciated. Waiting outside with 4 or 5 other customers for 10-15 minutes is pretty inconvenient and frustrating. I’ve tried to be loyal to this shop but if I total up all my visits, I have wasted hours sitting outside and the staff is very unapologetic. At least they have a canopy and chairs… I’ll be choosing a new bike shop that cares more about its customers and our busy schedules too.
Awesome customer service! Not only helped me with a flat but the mechanic also spent time showing me local trails and races to join! Definitely coming back here for all my bike service needs
Nice guys. Quickly found replacement for broken part. Appreciated work with them
Loved it here. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very thorough.
I am extremely pleased with Jax bicycles service and delivery of my first ever newly purchased bike. I have recently put in an order with Jax about 2 or so months ago. Unfortunately, there were some issues with the delivery and availability of my original order which I believe was out of the hands of the guys at this place. The availability issue was due to Trek Bicycle not making that specific color anymore since they were rolling out 2021 models, therefore my order had to be cancelled with Jax. Im not gonna lie I was quite frustrated and contacted Jax customer service and was able to get in contact via phone and email with the CEO, super nice and friendly guy. Dave Hanson, the CEO, empathized with my frustration and was willing to offer a $50 Jax accessories credit as well as an order for a new bike with zero deposit. I would say, there are not that many CEOs that I know of that would easily get in contact in a very timely fashion with their customers and make sure their issues and frustrations are resolved, specially during these unprecedented times. I put in an order with Dave for the 2021 model with a color that was even better than the 2020 model that I liked and even had a mixture of the 2020 model Marlin 5 green color in it. I just took delivery of my bike two days 4 days ago, and I have to say it was definitely worth the long wait! I love the color of this bike and the attention to detail on the paint job of this Marline 5 as well as the VIP customer service and delivery I received from the guys at Jax Bicycle.I highly recommend these guys and the hard work they do everyday to make sure their customers are satisfied with their purchase and service.
David the GM is an amazing guy. He really knows his business. COVID19 safety protocols are really impressive.
This place has the inventory. Go see Luke. Very knowledgeable. Jax’s is my go to shop when I’m in California.
Great service..but that parking lot...what a cluster
The team at this location was very friendly, courteous and helpful.
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. A well -stocked store providing repair services and quality products.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Efficient service.
I’ve now purchased 5 bikes from Jax Bicycle Center in the last 3 years, Yesterday I picked up a bike to use as a dedicated trainer with my Wahoo Kickr and also got a Trek Verve+ 2 for my wife. She absolutely loves her new bike.Chris was the store associate that assisted us yesterday and he provided outstanding service which included calling me to let me know the trainer bike I was looking for was now available due to another customer canceling their order. My experience at both the Long Beach store and now 3 times at the Irvine store has been exceptional. I wouldn’t consider going to any other bike shop because Jax is the best.
I came in to buy a bike for my kid during the busy holiday season, with only days until Christmas. Jax had the bike I wanted in stock & somehow managed to build it it time for me to pick up Christmas eve. The wonderful sales rep, David even helped me load it into my truck in the pouring rain. These guys are awesome & definitely go the extra mile for their customers! Great experience all in all
We’ve been trying really hard to do a fair share of our shopping in store over the past year and not online. It’s becoming clear that online shopping is likely the only way for us going forward. We bought a Townie for our daughter about 4 weeks ago and David at the Irvine store couldn’t have been more helpful. He came through when Jax HB and Fullerton couldn’t and had our daughter riding her new bike the same day.Fast forward. We brought said Townie in for the complementary service to fix a few minor issues. Check in and drop off went great, then the “new guy” was assigned to us since we wanted to buy another Townie for my wife.We knew which model, color and even had a back up color but the “new guy” was determined to not sell us a bike today. Spoiler, he succeeded. It started with “new guy” telling us that he didn’t know much about Townie bikes and had us walk over to the computer to find it. He promptly showed us a Raleigh bike to which I stated, we’re looking for a Townie. “New Guys” frustration was apparent as he turned the screen to try and find the right bike. Both my wife and I showed him the bike on the Jax website on our phones and he questioned whether we were on the Jax website. After finally finding the bike on the website, it was determined they didn’t have the color we wanted in stock, so we were able to choose a different color, which after asking another employee, was still in a box not yet assembled.Since we already had a bike being serviced not ready for pickup until end of business the next day, we asked if it would be possible to buy the bike and pick up both together the next day. “New Guy” promptly responded in a frustrated tone that no bikes will be assembled until the following week and sensing he was done with us, we decided why try to give business to Jax if they clearly don’t need a small scale bike sale with the tremendous demand they’re getting with sales of existing assembled inventory. On the way out now fuming from our interaction with “New Guy” we were able to speak to David who stopped what he was doing and offered to get our daughter’s bike serviced immediately and also have the bike we wanted to buy assembled ASAP. Overall, David was a real pro but the “New Guy” had us so turned off, we passed on the opportunity. Also, we’re not ones to pitch a fit to get things our way.For what it’s worth IMO, which means nothing to Dave Hanson’s bicycle retailer chain empire, employees like “New Guy” shouldn’t be exposed to paying customers until he gets at least some product line training and for sure a crash course of what should be common sense customer service. This lack of even the bare minimum level of customer service has been personally experienced at both HB and Irvine stores. As somebody who’s shopped at Jax LB way before they became the super store bike chain, it’s sad.
I purchased a Trek bike in another location but my seat was very uncomfortable. I stopped by to just get a seat cover but Im glad I didnt do that. The manager helped me out and had great recommendations. He help me find a great seat replacement and he was friendly and super informative. Im glad I stopped by! I now really enjoy riding my bike. Thank you!!
Super selection and I think better than Lombardi! The shoes guys were extremely helpful in helping me pick out the right shoe for my running. Spent quality time with me while really listening to me and then answering all questions and concerns I had.
Best service in Town...or any town for that matter!
I enjoyed and appreciate using your online contact us form. This gave me the ability to determine which locations had the bike, size, and color I was interested in seamlessly. Arriving to the store I was greeted by an employee while waiting in line. The employee was helpful and nice. Once I entered the store the employee that helped me was very knowledgeable and helped me find the exact bike I was looking for. The bike was not built yet and the turn around time to get it built for me was exceptional. The employee also had other recommendations for my bike during my purchase and after when I went to pick it up. I added an adjustable water cage, mountain bike bell, new pedals, and went tubeless. Overall I had a great experience and will plan to continue bringing my bike back to Jax. Thank you!
My experience:I purchased a cruiser Electra for my wifes birthday. What I did not like:1) They do not accept change or return (to keep you safe!)2) The bike came with a lot of scratches and dents and they did not even offer me a discount to compensate.Sorry to say that but I cannot recommend. Stay away! There are many other places in Orange County you can purchase a bike...Dave: I DID wait for 50 minutes in store to get another bike. But I was told by your store manager that the new one they were trying to assemble got worse dents and scratches. They then wanted me to choose one of them; the bad or the worst.
Old Dave, I guess there are 2 Dave’s, is phenomenal! We went there and I was getting frustrated with y wife sending him back and forth with requests . He was patient and very knowledgeable. He not only found a bike it’s better than what she picked initially that was sold ..Great place to go highly recommended
Ive been buying and servicing my bikes here since 2008. Enjoy the staff and their commitment to what ever is required. Any issues are always professionally handled.
The store appeared really well-staffed and with very knowledgeable team members.
I liked how easy it was do business with you guys. The team was extremely helpful and caring for my situation. Everyone worked very fast above and beyond. Nathan was very helpful and I actually ended wanting to buy more than I came in for. He answered questions that I would/should have and told me things I should know for next time. Brent (or Brett?) the bike tech worked quickly but throughly. THANK YOU!!
Fast friendly service, only complaint is that the inner tube had a small slice by the valve, which in turn had to replace an inner tube.
The bike rack we purchased is nice. I planned on going to a rack place that sells multiple brands after seeing what you have to offer. But the young nan who helped us was so good at his job, that we happily made the purchase
Service and experience so bad.Always long line. Employees are so slow and mean, Price is higher than other places
Competitive prices, great selection and outstanding service. Very pleased with Jax!
Friendly, courteous staff. Excellent products with good prices.
They want you to wait in the outside long time. I dont want to spend money in this shop.
Super friendly service. I went in for a pair of cycling shoes and was met with attentive service and a polite personality. Found exactly what I was looking for and eyed some good looking bikes. They limit nimber of the people allowed inside so it was a very chill experience. I will be back again!
Luke is always nice and helpful.I recommend him if you want to buy any bike or accessories.
Classy place that has personal human touch
The shop requires mask to enter the premises. I chose not to support them.
Beware of mechanics.. They are CROOKS... They made me to replace everything on my bike instead of fix the problem for sat extra money dawg Im from da hood.
The worst place to work with, very dishonest and irresponsible. I have ordered a bike here back in 7/7/2020. It was supposed to arrive in 2-8 DAYS, we went there to follow up several times, we called them several times and every time they just asked us to order an alternative and promised us that it will arrive in a month or so... . Today is 12/9/20 and I finally canceled the order! they even didnt apologize!!! how rude is that! Dont get fool by their promises!
Dave gave me excellent advice! THANK YOU.
The service department is really great and the have really knowledge on servicing the bikes. The customer service though is by far the worst. Covid19 times are challenging for all of us but they don’t know how to keep a line to get into the store and they rarely answer the phone. Too bad I hope to reconsider to a better rating if they figure this out.
Quick reliable service. thanks!
The young man who helped me was not only polite, but also patient and knowledgeable. I came to buy tires and tubes and I learned more from him about my options in a span of 5 minutes, than I would if I did online research in 5 hours. Thank you for making my experience not only pleasant, but pleasurable and educational.
Dave was so knowledgable and helpful! Not only does Jax actually have bikes in inventory right now, unlike everywhere else, but they took the time to understand what we needed - and then they were perfectionists about getting everything fitted right. Really great experience. Dont intend to shop anywhere else for bike stuff!
Knowledgeable staff and solid selection. I like their service deal on new bikes. They have different bikes for different price points, even older models on clearance, and the latest and greatest. E-bikes looked amazing too. I’d recommend them to a friend for bikes and accessories as well as bike maintenance!
I visited this stop twice today looking for a new bike. Both times, everyone I spoke with was super friendly and knowledgeable, and I felt like they were genuinely interested in helping me find a good fit. I was very impressed. I havent yet decided on my new bike, but I am tempted to get the Trek because of the excellent experience I had at this shop. Thanks so much!
Great service and helped me find the proper bike for me I am super happy with thank you!
We went in yesterday and spent about 2 hours trying to decide what I wanted. Ive never bought a bike from a bike shop. Always done the Walmart bikes... I didnt realize all the choices and the differences. Dave was super helpful. Customer service was great!!
I was pretty shocked that I woulda had to leave my 7-speed road bike here for a week plus just to have the derailleur adjusted. Accessories here are somewhat overpriced. I bought a U-lock here that cost me $53! When I gotta leave my bike in the shop for a week plus for something that’ll take under an hour, I’d rather do that at the bike shop nearest my employer.
Excellent service and knowledge providers. The service technician answered all of my questions and serviced my bike very quickly. He had my bike back in perfect riding condition and got me back on my bike in a very short time. I also like that he did not upsell or try to sell me any items or services that I did not need.
This place is amazing! Whenever I visit, once a month or so, the employees here are always so helpful and go above and beyond to assist me! I really appreciated the recommendations they gave me on my most recent visit as I was trying to find a christmas present, and I settled on something that I knew would bring a smile to my fiances face! I know well in the market for a mountain bike soon, and well be coming back here for some more tips!
Jax is my favorite bike shop. I bought my cruiser there about 6 years ago and now I’m ready to pick up my Electra Townie 8D! It’s polished silver & I can’t wait until they open tomorrow so I can hurry and get it! Vvrroomm....🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴
Very disappointed. I stayed more than 1 hour in the line and when it was my time to step in, they refused to do change of wheels set. Went to another bicycle shop and they did without hesitation.
Unbelievably great experience all around. Helpful, knowledgable, respectful, polite staff. Great service. Store is clean and bright, well-stocked and neat as a pin. I highly recommend this store over any other bike shop.
Dave greeted us upon entry and talked us through everything we needed to know about the items we were hoping to buy. He was VERY sociable and well educated regaurding safety. We were in and out of there REAL quick with only the items we needed and all of our questions answered 😊
I came in looking at two different bike. Zac was a great help with any questions I had on the two choices as well as testing out the rides. Great help through and through. Everyone in this shop has great knowledge and experience with cycling. Ive rode almost everyday since and have been enjoying my time outside!
Sept 2020 - Covid seems to be an excuse for poor service these days - 5000+ sq/ft store is locked. One guy waiting outside. I’m waiting in my truck - lady walks up and prys open the door. A dad and son left from waiting earlier. There’s literally a couple of customers inside. So, what’s the rule 4 bodies per 5,000 sq/ft?UPDATE!! May 26th 2021 - I stopped back by this JAX to see what all has changed since my Spec 2020 visit. I recently purchased a $7,500 bike from your competitor and needed a bike rack - since JAX is the only local Saris dealer, I stopped by to check them out. I walked up to a time machine...EZups up, even more signs on the door and the door was shut. 2 guys were waiting outside with a bike for service and myself. I waited about 10 minutes. I saw one salesman exit a family out with a bike and another salesman exit a couple. But, no one was let in. I start reading the signage - and its ALL negative. No returns, No exchanges, All sales Final and Store hours greatly reduced. I was told Covid effected these, staffing issues effected these, staff returning to college effected these, robberies effected these, etc. Whats the excuse now? Youre missing many, many sales opportunities by hiding behind these excuses. Its June 2021 - quite hiding
The service was amazing! My teen spent many hours researching mountain bikes, pricing, brands, and features. As well as local bicycle retail store’s websites and found Jax to be the best. After our 4th trip to the store of looking, test-riding 3 different sizes, asking questions and getting answers to ones we didn’t know to ask. He loves his new MB!
Long story short: limited bike selection (both pre and during covid), mostly Traks. Shopping experience greatly varies on the sales person. The first person, who sold the bike, was welcoming and helpful, but it took them three attempts to find the bike we looked for in stock (otherwise weve been offered a 2-8 weeks pre-order). Then weve met a very nice and helpful assistant who looked like Spiderman/Holland, who entertained our son and was friendly and positive as well. The other sales person was not as helpful. We asked to adjust the handlebars and saddle, and received you can do it youself response (while the sales person who sold the bike asked us to come and try the bike, before taking it home). Bike itself ... Well front breaks squeaked even before the first ride (it took the shop ~4-5 days to assemble, and they should have checked it), which I had to adjust. All in all cannot give the place more than 3* at the moment. Will update if/when have a better experience in future, and I probably would, as there are not a lot of bike shops in the area.
This is an AWESOME Bike Shop. The staffs are very professional and friendly. The store is clean and has a variety of bike selections. Greg, Daniel and Phil are always helpful. I highly recommend Jax for anyone whose looking to purchase a new bike or upgrading their existing one. I have purchased 3 bikes from this store and am very happy with them.
The only place to buy your bikes. The Jax service team is second to none!
Davids customer service was amazing, and made my 9-year old son extremely happy! I had been searching for a 24 bike for my sons 10th birthday. To my dismay, bikes are very hard to find right now with bike shops being so busy as essential businesses during the pandemic. My son would find a bike he loved online, only to find out it was sold out. We finally found one at another Jaxs store and ordered it online. My son was counting the days until we could pick it up! A few days later, they called and apologized saying that they did not actually have the bike in stock any longer. (Please know that Jax store was also very helpful, checking all Jax stores and the manufacturer directly for the bike, offered to hold another color for me, and then refunded my online order with no problem.) After this, we immediately went online and found a bike that was supposedly in stock in Irvine. We ordered it online - and knowing there were no guarantees - then jumped in the car and drove to the Irvine store to ensure they still had the bike in stock. To our relief, they did! It was explained to us that they wouldnt actually receive my online order until the next day. Given the long line outside, it could easily be gone by then. That is when David stepped in and made my sons day! He said hed have the bike built right then and there (this was 15 minutes before closing time, mind you) and that hed take my info and just reconcile it with my online order whenever it came through to him. My son was ecstatic that not only did he finally find a bike he loved, but that he would unexpectedly get to take it home in a few minutes! He commented - referencing the slogan on Jaxs window sign, Mommy, they really do make people happy! So a huge thank you to David and all of the Jax staff that went out of their way during their very busy day to make a little boy happy!
I just purchased my third bicycle from Jax Bicycle in Irvine. The entire team was very helpful and knowledgeable, I sincerely appreciate their patience and selection. I might have saved some money from on-line store; however the customer service and learning the new technology from this outstanding team was and is priceless.Keep up the good job. Once again, I thank you all
Dave the GM is very knowledgeable and patient. Great service snd pricing. We will be back
I love this neighborhood bike shop. They are super helpful and friendly and do their best to do the job without having to replace more parts then needed. They are also very reasonably priced. I brought my bike in on a Saturday morning to upgrade my cassette and got my bike back in the afternoon. Great because it feels like part of me is missing when I dont have it!
Awesome to come in and have Dave share with me the details of tubes so I could make the right choice. The store was clean, well organized, and has a great environment.
These guys are incredibly welcoming, helpful, and run first class shops. They say everything happens for a reason. If thats true, then Performance Bicycle went out of business so I could find Jax!
This shop is like a candy store for riders! The service is epic and they always help you find what you need to have a good ride. The wrenches are the best in the game! Every time I have jacked up my bike it comes out of here better than it was brand new. Keep up the epic wok Jax crew!
The staff at Jax are knowledgeable and courteous . They made the process of purchasing a new bike easy.
Best bike shop I’ve ever worked with. These people know everything about bikes. And when you have trouble with a product, they pull out all the stops and make it right. Highly recommended!
Employees exhibit good knowledge of products and how they are used. They also consistently display a high degree of professionalism and attentiveness to customer needs. Products and services provided exhibit good quality.
Outstanding Customer Service. Excellent product knowledge and quality workmanship.
Friendly staff who will go out of their way to ensure your questions are answered
Have purchased a bike and separately a bike trailer from Jax, and now my go to bike shop. Great staff. Knowledgeable and always friendly and helpful.
Great experience! Fabulous customer service, very family oriented business. They also have a shop in Fullerton that sells used bikes they get on trade-ins. I will go back when my girls need their next size bike!
Dave was the best very knowledgeable. We had a great experience and love our bikes!
When I bought my bike they behaved very nice. However, when I need to fix the problem of gear indicator unfortunately they weren’t friendly and helpful.
I have ordered my bike 2 months ago at the Irvine store and tried several times to ask about the shipping status via their homepage message system. They ignored my inquiries except the first time, when they said they dont know when. I finally went there in person, waited in line, just to talk to one of the staff, who was like, I dont know, what do you expect.. Very disappointed.
Friendly and great knowledge of products. Always helpful to get my bike up and running again!
Pretty rude and unfriendly staff. As an avid biker for many years who lived and biked in many different countries, this bike shop was without a doubt the worst I have ever seen. It felt like they have so many loyal customers that they really wouldn’t care about attracting new ones! That’s their business and they certainly have the right to be like that!!!
They have great prices and a very friendly staff.
Unhappy about how I got treated here. It took 45 minutes to put the service order I to computer and they couldnt keep their word about the time when they will finish working on my bike - in fact, twice. It is not a cheap shop and if respect is too much to ask for - why should I ever come back?
David is the best.
They offered me $100 in trade for my used bicycle despite being valued at approximately $500 by bicycle blue book and worth $330 in trade. Im not sure the deal they have with bicycle blue book, but you would think they should offer the price listed on the site. Buyers beware!Edit: I sold this on eBay for $580 (buyer paid shipping) for anyone who doubts the value of this bike.
Jax has always been there for me, with helpful techs and sales staff too. Best looking shop with the best products and knowledge, too.
Not impressed with their generosity and community spirit. I brought a used bike in today and ask them if they could give it a minor tune up in order to be donated to a Famlies Forward Auction and be given full credit for the donation. Their answer was no the cost ($135) of their time and a new chain was worth more than the bike.
Not exactly your mom n pop LBC, but great place with lots of selection and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Bought my first bike in over 20 years. Good deal and great service. I like going there just to check out the advancements in road cycling since my last bike and see what else I can get to trick out the new ride.
Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable! Made for a great experience getting my new bike!
Great service, friendliness, and availability of products -highly recommend!
A very good shop. I travel to OC a fair amount and the Path is my goto shop for bike rentals, both mountain and road. May not be the cheapest place around but that is not the point.
Great service and friendly staffs. they fix my son bicycle right away and i appreciate it.
Friendly and helpful staff. Assortment of products for any budget.
Very friendly staff and they had everything I needed. The store is organized and clean. Prices are standard and competitive for this area.I stayed for a while browsing and asking questions and the staff were very knowledgeable.
Absolutely the best! Jax always have gone out of their way to take great care of me over the years. Thank you!!!
The staff is very helpful and knows there stuff, highly recommend this bike shop for all your cycling needs.
I went in to the shop today to fix a flat on my Trek. I was greeted with several hellos and immediately received help from Zac. He was very helpful and speedy with repairing what was wrong with my bike. From the moment he started working on it, to the end at the check out process, he had a smile on his face. I would definitely recommend Jax to anyone who needs service done on their bike. Thank you Zac!
Great customer service with wonder smiles.
Went in to look at a road bike that could be used on light trails for a beginner. The sales staff was very knowledgeable and friendly without being pushy. I think Ive found my future bike! Thanks Dan for your help. Luis B.
