I took my lawnmower to A&L Lawn Equipment to have lawn mower serviced and to fix an issue wherein the gas continuously evaporated from the tank. I was told that the tank needed to be replaced because it was older and was no longer sealing properly. I agreed to have the tank replaced at apx $60.00. After I got the mower back and filled it with gas, it started with one pull and cut the lawn well. However, the next day the tank was empty, all the gas had evaporated, again! So, the issue was not with the tank, as it had been replaced. My thinking is that since I was told it was the tank, the technician must have run some sort of test to determine that to be true, maybe not. I called A&L and asked them if they would give me a refund for at least the cost of the new tank ($60.00 out of the $180.00 I had spent) I was told ‘No’, and that I should bring it back in so that they could determine if the tank was defective. I declined. My argument is this - I would expect that since it was suggested that the issue was the tank, some sort of testing would have been done to confirm if that were the case or not, AND when the new tank was installed some sort of testing would have been done to determine if it was functioning properly. I dont feel that it is incumbent upon me to load up my lawn mower, again to have them now test what should have been properly tested the first time. For that reason I will NOT recommend A&L to my acquaintances, nor will I patronize them again. Lastly, I would also have expected that since I had my lawn mower serviced (Blade sharpened, Oil Change, ‘made ready season’) A&L would have at least wiped it down and cleaned it, nope. It looked just as dirty as when I dropped it off.Chris H.

Im sure they are fine if you are fine with them calling the shots and you are a dude. Too bad for me though: I sent this company a generator and gave specific maintenance instructions to them. They went ahead and did their own thing and called me back to tell me that they fixed it and the price will now be 400% more. Since that was nearly more than the value of the equipment my boss told me to let them have it. They called him back and tried to negotiate him at a little less money but he didnt budge. The test was all to figure out who he could count on and trust and did not really care about the small unit. He wanted to see if he could depend on these guys for the big generators that costs thousands of dollars. Too bad for them though because my company ended up signing a contract with another small engine repair company that honors their customers maintenance requests.
