I like it here the only problem I do have and always have is the the gentleman that works in the deli never wants to do his job n is always complain about everything. I ask for my cold cuts cut thin n he always say it doesnt do that but then wen I call management she does it perfect. I shouldnt have to go through that if Im shopping there.
Clean, fish counter-no smell, meat counter neat w/ a butcher. I love this place. Its a hidden gem off of Mill Rd. in Irvington, NJ.Did I mention the produce department with its fresh hetbs! Fresh!!
I love city market always playing our Haitian compas!!
The location is great & convenient, for picking up little things.
They have a variety of food items. The items are decently priced and the supermarket isnt that busy.
I love city market, but they dont carry a lot of variety of fruit or meats. It is convenient to buy eggs, milk etc. Customer service is ok the cashiers dont greet you or talk to you at all.
The prices for meat is affordable, but they didnt really have what I was looking for. Bought a loaf of bread, and the expiration date hadnt passed yet. The bread was moldy. I just threw the whole loaf in the trash. Will never buy bread from there again.
Basic supermarket dont expect to get anything unique
Great place, clean and fresh produce
Wide selection. I was super excited to find a particular brand from Jamaica that I was searching for.
Wide arrangement and variety of products at reasonable prices.
Produce is pathetic and they do not carry scotch bonnet peppers
This place is good to buy nation and international foods water, diaper, paper toilet and towel, etc I love to shop there
Very good, easy to get around.
This store is always well stocked and clean.
I can almost always find it. Whatever is not common for me to cook.
Great international supermarket. It can be expensive if u dont pay attention
Always polite and very helpful the customer service is Pleasant but they need to come down off of those prices again there just as high as the other Supermarkets thats the reason why I saw the shopping there because their prices are lower not anymore
To be in a lower income area the Prices where higher then stop and shop.
City supermarket good to shop meat clean place clean good supermarket i love to go inside wonderful place to shop just love it
Its a good fresh food and tropical fruits and others, the varieties are rich and decent priceGood super market
If your looking for ingredients for your party jollof rice, or your pernil . Yams of all varieties, cow foot, and seafood you will find it here. I always stop in for products that are hard to find. Clean and nice cashiers.
The store could use a good deep cleaning. Shopping carts were dirty. They still have self-service bakery items!! I thought that was a thing of the past. Overall, prices were reasonable, and produce was fresh.
Great for Afro Caribbean latin needs
Its a great place to shop. Especially Africa Spanish and Haitian food item.
First time shopping there. Got to shop there more often because they got what I need and look for
Good shopping experience. Good, not great.
Good variety of food.
Not good but not bad.
Every time we buy fresh chicken it was spoiled. Had 2 keep returning the chicken 3 times in 1 day. Ending up getting a refund and going to Stop ans Shop.
Across-the-board excellent grocery store, the prices are reasonable.
Very good
Easy place to shop
City Supermarket its a very good place to all shopping specialy spanish n caribean ppl
I find a lot of my Caribbean products there
Very expensive compared to other stores.
I was passing by this town and spotted a local latin american supermarket... They got good manager special deals. Overall a good store but bad location.
I used to stay in the area Now Im about an hour away I still Drive to this supermarket
This place has good deals on several items but, mainly overpriced. Good for quick stops and plenty of Caribbean and S. American goods. They have great deals on fresh rolls and cold cuts.
All the old fashioned food needs
Excellent service
Admittedly I am not the person in our family that usually does the grocery shopping but I stopped in for a few fresh fruits and vegetables. The quality of the produce I purchased was definitely better than average. However, correct pricing at the register seems to ALWAYS be an issue with this grocery store chain. There are two in my area and each time I go to either one there is a discrepancy in advertised price versus what they actually attempt to charge at the checkout counter. I felt bad for my cashier because I could not make my complaint clear to her due to language barrier. And the young lady with the override key, who spoke both English and Spanish, yelled at her as if it was her fault that the computers never seem to have the appropriate sale price, especially on the first day of the sale. The whole experience has me pondering on what it may be like for the large demographic of customers who use these two markets and may be new to the US. If I couldnt read or speak English that well would I be aware that the prices were not correct for my particular products? My feeling is that this is an ethical glitch City Market should address. While City Market provides employment opportunity and cultural food choices for diverse populations someone needs to ensure that computer registers are programed appropriately, correctly, and in a timely manner. And no employee should publicly berate another in any language. Teaching a large Spanish speaking population has made me keenly aware of the insults even when I cant directly translate what was said, besides the cashiers body language said it all. I almost wish I had just paid the error price rather than witness her being mistreated and disrespected about a computer error that was beyond her control. I sincerely hope the remainder of her shift goes better.
A little crowded but at least they have the stote stocked well
This place is ok no biggie
To expensive there, but everything looked very nice and clean.
I found everything that I want it was a good experience there.
Very nice place
Had a lot of great sales today
Ok first time in a while not bad at all some things a little pricey but overall good
Doesnt smell pleasant.
Multi cutural ( carribbean/latin american) supermarket. If you are looking for certain spices or product from these countries you will usually find it here. Can be a bit pricey. WEAR MASK.
Every can good i picked up in there was expired on the shelf. Store always smells. Prices are very high. I dont eat any of the meat out of there because of the rank smell of the store. The vegetables look ok and reasonably priced. Its a place to pick up a quick item, not to do your full grocery shopping.
Superb
Always the best produce available in town
A decent place to get Caribbean and Spanish foods. Its pretty clean. The store serves its purpose!
Geared toward African, Caribbean and Spanish with a little Asian, so overpriced. Always crowded. Cramped space. Limited quality selections. Rude cashiers. Dont greet you, let you bag your groceries and dont say thank you, come again. Whoever says they have great customer service probably works there or never been to a quality supermarket. Prefer Seabras and Stop and Shop. Some things may be a little more expensive but worth it for a better shopping experience!
They focus more on security watching you shop, than cashiers helping you to ring up.
A great fish counter and butcher shop. An extensive produce section specializing in multi ethnic products (Africa, Caribbean islands, Latin speaking countries, Poland, Ukraine, Middle East) This particular store was extremely packed on the day we visited all check out lanes were full and the lines moved fast.
Let me just say I only come here on occasion to pick up things like juice, cereal, bread, frozen chicken patties. Produce like meat and veggies Ill pass. Things never look fresh and the lines normally long no matter when you go. Again I only go on occasion when convenient
They have latin food and more...
Nice place, frosty interior, many items, and fast checkout.
Unnecessarily expensive...I did a comparison with shoprite on 22 and their name brand stuff costs much more than store brand.... however they do have the Caribbean stuff that I need so thats a plus. I wish they had jamaican scotch bonnet peppers. I will only go there for Caribbean items but my primary go to place is shoprite.
Very good low price excellence keep it up
The store is relatively small, but clean. Customers inside practice social DISTANCING
A little expensive, need to low their prizes
Good price, see foods department with good costumer service...
I find it to be reasonable
Looking for PPES WELL look no more. Right things right price. Tell them Anderson from Premiere Car Wash send you...
An amazing store! Not only are the products fresh that but the prices are moderate. Please keep up the standard.!
I love to shop in this grocery store. They always have something on sale
Never have enough cashier at registers, long lines, needs better management
This is a grocery store for a quick pick up. Prices could be steep at times and prices could be better at time hey this place is just for a quick grocery you need at that time.
I used to shop here all the time for the reasonable prices and fresh produce. Within the past 3 months every time I go there their produce is very outdated and a step from being tossed away. Very unsanitary
I hope I can work with everyone.
I like this supermarket..not crowded yet the stuff is good and the price is right.. They have polite and helpful associates
West indian/ african/ south american market! What you cant find in shoprite or the regular american supermarkets, you may find here.
The prices arent that great.
Exelent
Good place to shop for your grocery Ground provision can foods and much more . Go chick it out for your self .
Good !
The best city supermarket good prices and they will drive u home if u buy the right amout of food
Very nice store
The cashier throws the grocery in the bags like a piece of garbage they dont even smile they always look up set
This market sells everything you could possibly think of! The lines were full, but the cashiers were really quick in servicing you and getting you out the door
Good place for Caribbean food producrs
Despite the weather condition the Supermarket was well stocked and speedy lines.
Its okay its not really that big but its good enough
All the cashiers have disgusting attitudes and the items are overpriced. This place is worst than a bodega. Save yourself the aggravation and go to Stop and Shop n Stuyvesant Ave in Union.
Great shopping site! Fresh groceries fresh meats too!!
Cashier r slow like turtles
This store is perfect for any ingredients for ethnic cuisine but the staff is slow as molasses
Reasonable prices This store has everything one may need Clean and always busy
Food are not fresh but super expensive
The best selections are fresh fruit, spices, and tv dinners. They have foods that cannot be found in other supermarkets, such as goat meat and chicha, purple corn juice.
Can find what I am looking for. Also, not bad for a quick shopping trip
Great price, fresh products, excellent Customer service.
