Heroic Knight Games is an accessible and friendly game/hobby store. The establishment is well balanced between retail floor and play space, with plenty of room for both. Many popular miniature games feature regularly scheduled pickup play nights. As of the writing of this review, groups can be found playing X-Wing, Warhammer 40K (of various formats/point levels), Aeronautica Imperialis, and FNM (Friday Night Magic). My favorite characteristic of this store is that they have many games/models/minis pre-assembled and painted for new players to learn to play with. The owner-operator is both knowledgeable and approachable. I have visited several times over the years and never had a poor experience. On several occasions, he has provided advice about games that may interest me - even if he doesnt actively stock them any longer (example: Star Wars: Armada). On site parking is a breeze, with easy road access - including a traffic light located on an adjacent roadway. Heroic Knight Games also features light refreshments - such as chips, pop, and beer - at reasonable prices. There is a unisex bathroom on site that is clean and private.Do note that Heroic Knight Games is closed on Sunday and has weekday hours of 1PM to 10PM. Saturday they are open Noon to 6PM.Attached photos are from a special Apocalypse event for Warhammer 40K, featuring 5 Titan-class superheavies along with several Knight variants and multiple Ork superheavies.

An absolutely wonderful shop with some of the nicest people running it. The play area is large and even on busy nights isnt overwhelming with that gamer aroma. The actual game selection is somewhat limited compared to some other stores, but its more than made up by how easy it is to pre-order/order something in. Also a great selection of gaming supplies are always on hand.

Got a game of SAGA in over there, spent time talking to the owner. Great store. Clean, tons of space for gaming, lots of GOOD terrain, lots of stuff to buy, Beer and other refreshments to enjoy and support the store while using space. CLEAN. Great parking. Good group of gamers there. Couldnt recommend more.

Great staff, well stocked, and the community at this game store is also very friendly. Super helpful to new players, and comfortable seats! (Seats are one of the more important aspects game stores skimp on. It better be comfortable if your going to be spending hours in it!)

This is a great place to hang out and play games. Everyone is really nice and they have a decent selection of games. They mainly cater to the wargaming and Magic crowd, but they have plenty of other stuff as well. The one thing I love about this place is the staff. The nicest people youll ever meet.

The place is on the smaller side of game stores but the atmosphere is fun and casual. Their stock of board games again is limited but they have many table top games and supplies for said games. I do emphasize the casual atmosphere for most games.

A nice place to play games, but does poorly as a gaming store. Very limited selection in actual board games. They have more games set off to the side for people to play for free than they actually sell. They have many expansions but dont sell many base games.Friendly atmosphere, good place to hang out. Not a good place to go if you actually want to buy board games.

This place is a good example of how good a store can be and not have to break the bank. Its clean, well lit, and the staff is super friendly. They run events all week and have plenty of play space. They could probably be a bit deeper on product, but thats about it.Id highly recommend this place if youre looking for board or card games in the Issaquah area or simply want to try something new.

Great local gaming store. Owners are super nice and friendly. Clientele is less about hard core gamers and more about casual gaming although some super serious gamers also are present. Newbies are welcome.

I come here because its the closest place to play mtg. After going to other events in the area (Bellevue, Seattle, mostly) I find that I prefer the usual crowd at HKG as opposed to the type of people I tend to run into when I go to other events. Most players have casual attitudes along with some competitive skill, and there are rarely any neckbeard sperglords taking the game too seriously.Prize payouts generally operate as expected. If you feel like you were shortchanged, just find me because Im probably carrying prize packs and I dont value them very highly.

I played in the stores Friday Night Magic tournament, went 2-1 in the swiss pairings and did not receive a portion of the prize pool even though the other players that went 2-1 received prizes. The store owner explained that only the top 4 players receive prizes and told me that because one of my opponents dropped out of the tournament my 2-1 performance was not as good as the other 2-1 players based on my opponents match win percentage.Only paying out to the top 4 would be an alright system if they capped the event at 8 players or added a round to the tournament if it was 9+ players, but the store neglected to adjust to tournament structure to fit the number if players. Not only does adding the additional player make it impossible to cleanly cut to the top 4 players for prizes it means that there are more players putting money into the prize pool but the prize payout is not increasing. The store could afford to pay out all of the 2-1 players instead of just the top 4 because they had the extra players paying into the prize pool. The players in the tournament are entitled to their fair portion of the prize pool because they paid into it, the prizes are not just hand outs from the store. The players put that money into the prize pool and by not paying it out the store is committing an egregious misconduct. At best the store is incompetently running the tournament or misallocating the prizes and at worst the store is stealing some players portions of the prize pool, either way, its not something I would recommended participating in to another Magic player, especially with so many other places to play in the surrounding areas.

Guy at counter was really helpful with my dilemma of choosing between star wars x wing and Armada, even though they didnt have set I wanted. Because of this, Im getting all my expansions from this store, since their prices are also very fair with online stores. Gotta support your local stores!
