Great choice for fathers day meat supply. Had a great selections and knowledgeable staff, they gave great advice on beautiful cut of meat Ive never brought before. Hanger steak! Yumm amazing. Beware only one per side of beef so wait in line for this cut. Also purchased savory chop and bacon. Will definitely recommend and return

The Piggery is an old fashioned butcher shop in modern times. All the meat is from local farms and the cured meats are done using celery salt. The cuts are outstanding, and the meat is delicious. The shop is truly outstanding, the good folks who work there are craftsmen, (and women). They are very proud of the quality of products that they have and produce. This is my favorite place to shop for meat products. The chicken and fowl products are very good as well.

Made a order earlier in the week for a party and assured that they had what I needed available for pickup today... wouldnt answer their phone yesterday, or today and finally answered after numerous attempts. Telling me they cant fill my order.

Lots of selections from fresh meat to canned meat and sausages. We love the salami and pâté ! Staff are friendly and helpful.

Not good. Used to be. Used to have polar bear meat. But not now. But seriously from what I saw last two visits I dont think they are very COVID-safe.

Hight quality local meat and knowledgeable staff. Im sad the restaurant is not there anymore, but it can be hard to keep that kind of business open in a town full of locally sourced restaurants. Im glad that the butcher shop is still here. It is very convenient to the Ithaca farmers market so it is easy to stop in if you are already in the area for that.

I love this place! The meat is really delicious. I only buy meat from here. The prices are very reasonable considering everything is local and pasture-raised. The butchers are knowledgeable and friendly, and its just cool to get to know your butcher. It has kind of a old school vibe, but in a hip way. Definitely check it out!

I went to Piggery for a fresh Christmas ham. They didnt have one, but carved one for me while I waited. What a wonderful place! Like the butcher shop in my childhood neighborhood, a place full of fine food and community. In addition to the usual meats, there was a surprising collection of prepared edibles, veggies and dairy, and soaps and such things.

This is the best place Ive been in for pork. That is an understatement for how great it really is. Their pork chops are worth an hour trip drive. The bacon is incomparable to any other bacon. Its real and their pigs are actually fed a diet, not garbage.

I happily shop at The Piggery for my meat needs because the butchers are attentive, informative, helpful and handsome. Their steak, sausage and cured meats are always fresh, seasoned well and reasonably priced. Their pre-made pot pies are savory and total comfort food on a night you may not want to cook a full meal! Will come again and be spreading the word about this gem. Thank you for making me feel better about spending a tad more money on quality and supporting local, small business!

Everyone working at this store is so nice and helpful. Unfortunately their beef was not edible. Their rub was way over salted and the beef had so much connective tissue that it was impossible to chew. It was an absolute fail.

The Piggery is awesome. It is the storefront for a local pig farm, so everything is local and delicious. The people who run it are also incredibly nice. In addition to running a food joint, they also offer butchery services so you can get custom pork cuts and products. An absolute must check if you are in Ithaca.

Love, love, love this place. The meats are great, variety is great, staff is so friendly and helpful, and they keep expending their offerings. My family talks of moving but this place keeps coming up as a reason why I cannot move away!

Legitimate Butchery.The smell when you walk in is amazing, only real Butcher Shops have that smell. Clean. Fresh. Local.They have a wide aray of Local Beef, Pork, Lamb, Chicken and even Duck...Even Local Milk and Cheeses.As I was checking out, they had some realy fresh bread and treats from a local Baker.so glad I stopped in, this is now part of my weekly grocery.

I called The Piggery and asked for pork neck and was told that it was possible to buy it at them, I just had to order it first.When I went to there store and wanted to order I was told that they dont sell pork nect, so instead I ordered 4lb port breast. I was following a very specific traditional pork roast recipe and asked them to cut vertical with 0.5 inches between each cut through the rind but not into the meat and had the order confirmed twice to make sure they understood the specificity.What I got was 5+lb pork breast that was cut diagonally and ruined the rind because I couldnt make equal length crackling with the rind. At least they only cut 4 places and not with the 0.5 inches I had specified as well...

Hmm.. How many buzzwords can I add..? Well-intentioned fads aside, the products sold here are all very local, the animals offered as food for humans lived happy lives prior to their slaughter, the meats are prepared on site, the employees dont get paid slave wages, and not all but most of the food is organic or not GMO.

Able to find uncommon cuts of meat there in the high price range I will call it a an average value
