As an Indian student at Cornell who just wanted to find a nice neighborhood Indian store that felt like home, NO place has ever almost make me CRY after going like Nirvana. I left in tears. Walking in, the place had no customers and no prices. No one ever expects to need to look at all the prices online before coming to a new grocery store. I grabbed a few things that I have bought my whole life from other Indian stores in a college town that should be no more than $5 each. Except one serving of frozen curry was close to $11 each. After seeing the prices at the register, I asked the cashier if I could take off a few items before paying because I simply cant afford frozen food that expensive as a student. Instead, I was SCOLDED for wasting her time and that I shouldnt come back without looking at the website beforehand because labelling the items prices and taking them off my receipt (which was MY right to ask them to do) was wasting her time again. She said other things that were mean as well. If serving your customers is wasting your time then why have any customers at all. I felt attacked and was just trying to afford some groceries after feeling homesick. I ran out of the store trying not to cry. Seeing these other negative reviews, it looks like the owner doesnt respond well to feedback and instead attacks everyone that speaks up against him. So the owner will probably argue with me under this review and call me fake; but after going here in person, I dont expect anything better, and I dont expect to be respected by these people.

This place has amazing selections and great price! They have every Indian grocery item you can think of. I always come back to this place! They have fresh Indian curry leaves and fresh chillies, that you cant find anywhere in this city. I recommend! They also have the best spice collection in Ithaca!

I had one of the worst experience of my life. I think there is not much demand of Indian food in that area and guy sells stale refrigerated food after heating it. It smells and you might end up getting bad stomach. I ended up in store thinking to promote local business even though items were priced high. But after reporting the owner about food rather than admitting his mistake he started to fight and definitely very very rude person. Avoid his shop.

Store to cheat people in buying Indian grocery for double price than expected. If you spend 10 dollars in buying some Indian good then you will get them in corning for 5 dollars in other grocery store. Being south Asian myself I hate such money making cheaters from my country. The owner cunningly hides all prices as customers in Ithaca area have not visited another indian grocery store. . He is super rude.Just avoid being scammed

A lovely little store, lots of cold and frozen stuff, some raw ingredients- we go back frequently to restock on these items. But the best thing is their hot prepared food, which they make to order. Order 20 minutes ahead of time by phone or on their website and then go pick it up. *Really* great!! A nice couple owns and runs the place - it used to be up on College Town but they didnt have hot food up there.

A very small but clean shop which has lots of premade, boxed Indian foods in the freezer, mishti, dry goods, and Indian ice creams (Kulfy), plus some good stories of Indian culture from the owner, Sanjay. Easiest to park on Seneca close to Corn and walk the half block. Thanks for supplying Indian necessities!

If you can rate less than 1 star. The guy has opened this shop to cheat people with prices marked twice high than what you get in a South Asian grocery store. Rude shop owner who says its his shop and can price them twice or thrice the mrp and no one cares.

Very rude owners. Just Very rude owners was the first version of this review but now providing more details since the owner tried to come up with convenient false statements against me in the response instead of taking it as a customer feedback. When I and my friend entered the store, the owner asked us go back to the door (not automatic door) and close it ourselves (starting a lecture on manners). There was no sanitizing station nearby the door and I was genuinely concerned to touch door knobs in public places such as grocery stores (one of my family members recently suffered from COVID) and hence gently closed it with my foot (the owner is trying to portray it as kicking; it would be very clear if they have any cam footage). Then when we went for billing after shopping, the owner started arguing again and I tried to convey that I was genuinely concerned about touching the knob due to COVID. Then for some reason he got angry and said I should not have come to his store in the first place and started saying you come from India and behave in this way. I was appalled by his targeted remarks (I could also be from any other South Asian country too). Then I decided not to buy anything from there and was putting the things I picked back in their place (not throwing around). Then he got aggressive and shouted at me to leave immediately and I left. I should also mention that they yelled at my friend making the India remarks (who was not involved in any of the arguments) and did not let him buy anything from the store.

Was there recently for the second time here in I-town for my studies. I was surprised to find stuff that I would find back home conveniently in the same building that I reside in. Tons of spices, snacks and Indian grocery items, easy to cook ready made items. I was even able to find other convenience items such as pans and utensils there itself and didnt even have to leave the building to get the necessary item. Best of all, they are open till midnight most nights.

Definitely the best place to get Indian grocery in the Ithaca area. They carry all types of Indian grocery including spices, snacks, lentils...etc at a very reasonable price. Though the store may be small, they carry most thing that larger Indian grocery carry. The cashier are always willing to help and if you cant find something they will place a order for you. As a Cornell student its nice that the store is conveniently located in the heart of collegetown. I can walk down to the store and always be greeted with a nice welcome and its always nice talking with the women running the store. I love this store!!

It is wonderful how such a small store has a lot of stuff. Indian grocery is usually very costly but is the only place in the town that sells them. I usually use it as a convenience store as it is open till late hours.

The place is reasonably sourced, though slightly overpriced in comparison to indian stores in bigger cities, (possibly Wegmans/Walmart as well). It definitely has essential Indian spices, and goodies and the owners are helpful. Occasionally you find old dated stuff, just be wary.

If you are an Indian, you will find every grocery items that you need. If not, you can still find other convenient items and good selection of beer and cigarettes. Being a student, I do compare rates before I purchase items. Rates are little cheaper than other similar store in neighborhood. Came here to buy indian ethnic spice and some late night snacks. The selection here is decent and the owner is very kind, attentive, and thoughtful. The owner offered to assist me as soon as I came into the stores.Extremely convenient as it is in the same building as I reside in.Collegetown Minimart has soup mixes, chutneys, traditional Indian and South Asian snacks, American snacks, fresh produce, fruit juices, spice mixes, phone cards, and a great selection of frozen foods (curries and naans and sweets), beer, cigarettes and convenient item in general. Its a great store and I feel appreciated everytime I shop here.

Very expensive place almost 80% higher than actual price.Sells expired product in half priced. Please check the expiry date before buying. They are just taking the advantage as it is the only one Indian grocery in Ithaca, Terrible stuff. The lady maybe the owner does not how to behave with the customers. Try to avoid that terrible place.

I was charged twice for my order because the woman behind the counter didnt load the paper into the credit card machine properly and no receipt was printed. So, she ran the card a second time after saying no charge that time. Well, it was full charge both times. Id never do business here in anything but cash especially if youre loading up on a lot of spices.
