Ordered siding first I must say the staff was helpful .anyway I ordered siding they said 6 weeks tops after 9 weeks it still didnt arrive I ask all the time where the siding was and they couldnt tell me ...what kind of logistics program are they running? So I called another company on Thursday and that company delivered the same siding the next day on Friday! As I stated I dont blame the staff but as for going to 84 lumber again that is never gonna happen also the company that delivered all my siding materials the next day was also 1,000.00 dollars cheaper good luck 84 but you will never see me again
We purchased a variety of materials from here for our house build: lumber, OSB, exterior doors, Hardie board siding, and roof trusses. The salesmen we spoke to were all cordial and patient as they helped us with quotes and orders. Their prices are very fair. The lumber and OSB were of excellent quality. Our doors came undamaged and were exactly as we ordered them.My issue with this location stems from a SEVERE lack of communication. The trusses we ordered were larger than what we’d asked for. Apparently they had taken the dimensions from our original quote rather than the final order my husband had put in.We were also over quoted for our siding by $1000 worth of material. We were given a quote that stated we needed $5000 worth of boards., and we only used $4000 worth of material. By the time we realized this we were well past the return date. Bruh...We were compensated for the trusses, and not compensated for the siding. Also, we would randomly be missing items in our shipments and would have to wait and remind them with multiple calls for those items to finally arrive. Overall, this place was a headache to deal with. Would not recommend buying anything other than lumber and raw materials.
It was nice to find 2x4s that were straight and level.
Friendly staff but unfortunately didnt have what I was looking for
Im building a deck.Need a lot of lumber, and a lot of joist hangers, thought Id order from 84 instead of Lowes because theyre smaller company. Basically the same prices, same delivery charge.I did my homework, gave part numbers for all the Simpson joist hangers I wanted, though I did specify or equal, they sent me Simpson but not the triple zinc I ordered, so theyre not equal, theyre lesser! Im not stupid here, I ordered what I wanted. And they didnt send me everything I ordered, but didnt bother to tell me what they didnt send, so thats not very helpful. They also sold me (3) 12 mm nuts instead of the half inch I ordered for the carriage bolts, sloppy error there that I had to go to Lowes to fix.But mostly, the lumber sucks. Lots of big knots. Lots of boards cut from the log edge with rounds on both edges, so theyre effectively useless. And I dont know if its true for all pressure-treated lumber these days, but none of the boards are actually correct dimensions, ranging 7.125 to 7.375 on a 2x8. How the hell am I supposed to work with this junk? Each piece requires unique mounting of the cheap joist hangers, what a pain! Im looking at probably 10% loss on 12 foot 2x8s, how depressing is this?I am feeling done with 84 lumber.
They always have what I need
Excellent quality, great customer service
