The owner and staff here are friendly and knowledgeable. They have some of the most unique guinea pigs that you’ll ever find in a store. It’s actually quite an experience going in there and seeing the wide variety of fish, reptiles and amphibians. There are not many pet store left like The Pet Station.

My brother bought a small turtle for his son from this store. It was a overpriced ($100) pink belly sideneck turtle and it died within two weeks of taking it home. My brother has taken care of turtles before and made sure to research its specific needs. After calling and telling Pet Station Jackson what had happened, they told him that it wasnt their problem. Were under the assumption that this turtle was the runt and/or sick and was sold to us regardless. If youre serious about taking care of animals then youll want to go somewhere else to get them.

If I could rate this pet store a zero I would! The treatment of the small animals was shoddy to say the least. Guinea pigs cramped in a small cage with little to no hay and no place to hide. This is why people get Guinea pigs and have no idea how to care for their needs. Seeing the place you get it from treat the animals in this way, means they the new owners will think thats the way to do it. SHAME ON YOU PET STATION.

Love this place. If you have fish or exotic pets in Jackson county, you must come here. Selection is amazing, animals are well kept, staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

Really friendly service here, the pets are well taken care of and the prices are reasonable, though the space is kind of small for all their products making it feel quite quite claustrophobic and the register area usually crowds quite quickly. If you dont mind that kind of thing this will be a great place for you to find a new furry friend or care for the ones you already have.

This place is the most real pet store I have ever been to, very knowledgeable staff, huge selection of everything and reasonable prices! Oh yeah also a massive selection of animals, fish, and reptiles. Check out out for sure!

Nice ppl, shop is very crowded and a bit cluttered, my kiddo enjoyed looking at the fish and other critters, he learned a lot.We bought 6 fish, one died 2 days later, but my partner tends to over feed so he could have caused a small ph swing.Not a huge deal, but 3.99 for a platy seems a bit much.

Place was packed for some reason & kids running all over the place. Not really the businesses fault, but the employees let it happen & someone could get hurt eith all those were floors. Also not a very good collection of fish to choose from considering all the boxes outside & their usual selection available. & the employee that helped us with our purchase needs some moreeducation, I asked questions I already knew the answer to & she disappointed me with her lack of knowledge & how misleading she would have been if I didnt know any better than to listen to her

I came here for fish and cherry shrimp. I love supporting local businesses and they had an amazing selection. I paid way less than I was expecting and less than with other pet stores or online fish stores. I was asked many times if I needed any help or assistance (I didnt at the time and I told them that each time since I was looking at everything and calculating things). When I did need assistance, it was friendly and efficient. They are incredibly knowledgeable and nice. I was even told that they would help me set up a saltwater tank and/or a brackish tank. Ive NEVER had any other pet store offer that. 100% going back every time and they have my business for life. No more big box stores for me. 100% happy with them and would ABSOLUTELY recommend to anyone.

Staff seemed like it was a bother to help me and my son. I was very disappointed at the prices and the guinea pig we got didnt seem like it had been socialized a day in its life. I will never go here again. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Im pretty upset. I got a hampster from there and it died two days later. However I believe it got my original hampster sick and he died tonight. That little guy wasted my 7year olds birthday present he is crushed. They died two days apart. And the original hampster was fine before introducing the new one to the cage. Im sure they did not intend on crushing our harts. The facility is clean and u did get a bird from there and it seems to be doing just fine.

Ive been going to the pet station for the past at least 20 years, I remember going there as a child even! Today I had my first issue with them, I bought a tarantula spiderling, and didnt really see it before I took it home. I got the container out and couldnt locate the spiderling, Im not sure what happened? But one phone call later, they immediately made it right and supplied me with another spiderling! Ive been going here for years without issue, and I understand that things happen, but the way they immediately handled the issue I did have deserves recognition! Thank you for being my go to pet store for my entire life and Ill continue to frequent your store and recommend it to everyone else I know!

A friend of mine bought tropical fish for his kids & they all died from Ick. The small bearded dragons are too many per enclosure & the one larger juvenile they have has too small an enclosure. They are overpriced as well. The staff were talking to eachother the entire time I was there and not one person asked me if I needed help. The place is kind of dirty as well.

I got my new friend at Pet Station and he is amazing! Very health and had help from the staff!

Always have what i need when i need it

They have hundreds of exotic fish from betta fish to seahorses. Lots of reptiles, feeder rats and mice, rodents, puppies, and even tarantulas! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are gentle when transporting pets (when you are buying them). They have good quality everything and you can buy everything here from fish to parrots.

If this was a fish store 5 stars. Store was crowded and hard to navigate. I was also concerned about the age of the puppies for sale. They had inventory and if youre looking for a unique item they probably have it. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.

This store is cluttered and lies on their website. NO EXOTIC BIRDS whatsoever!!! I drove 2 hours to this whole in a wall just to get treated rudely and poorly!! I’m going to try my best to get this place shut down!!

Always have great hometown help when going here. If they dont have what you need they will either order it or suggest another place that has it.

They have all kinds of inventory for every kind of pet but everything was covered in dust. A little over priced and smelled horribly and the floors felt like they where about to give in. Staff doesnt ever usually acknowledge customers.

Bought a 50 dollar fish just for it to die in 12 hours. Was told it could be replaced or to use on fish supplies but not anything else in the store. Horrible customer service and horrible communication. Will not be shopping here again.

Love this place for all my pet needs. (I have several pets like dogs, cats, reptiles, fish and bunnies) they have everything I need. Only problem is I wish you guys were open till 8pm instead of 7pm... i work an 8 - 5 job and sometimes later, usually in Ann Arbor which makes it nearly impossible for me to run to the store to pick up what I need like rabbit pellets.. once again though, great place, animals always look healthy and well takem care of and I love the new reptile tanks. Though Im a bit concerned with the housing of multiple bearded dragons in one tank thing...

Dont let the size of the building fool you. They have a lot of stuff in there. They have a huge selection of tropical and salt water fish. The tanks looked all clean and healthy. Very helpful and friendly staff.

I went there with my boyfriend. We heard two employees who did NOT wear a mask talk about getting tested for covid. Not fun experience because then i took it upon myself to get tested because i was around them. 1/10 experience . don’t recommend

I love this place,the workers are always super nice and very knowledgeable about their animals. I bought two African white Albino frogs from them and they lived for almost ten years, until my two year old put something in the tank.Great pets great people!

They dont honor coupons and clearly are loosing alot of buisness due to their wmployee who has made such a rude comment on someones community post representing you guys. Someone even reported it, ive deopped alot and jever had bad customer service but i cant stand by a buisness who employees are rude off the clock and repping the company. So sorry and im sorry for the buisness it seems thats about to quit coming there i hope yall fix the problem! Then ratings will change

Worst place I’ve ever been to. They are very uneducated and sold me a bunch of sick fish. I’d save your money and NEVER go to a terrible like this. They have ended up costing me a lot of money because I had to treat my tank and lost many other fish. Do yourself a big favor and avoid this place and all cost! Go to PetSmart. They’re way better priced and their tanks and fish are larger and healthier. I know, I’m shocked a chain is doing better than a personally owned store. But this store is awful. Good luck if you choose to give this awful place your money.

Descent selection of fish, the women that helped me was less than happy to be helping me. I watched while another girl was much happier. Clearly I was a bothering her. I had messaged and got a reply, that said to list fish I was intrested in and theyd let me know if those particular fish I was most interested in where available as I was coming from outta town.. well still waiting. 3 stars for a nice selection of fish, both salt and fresh. But the customer service let much to be desired.
