We shopped around for several months and were disappointed with the service at other boat dealerships. The experience at MarineMax far exceeded our expectations. It began with the outstanding sales support fromTy Miller who did so much more than help us choose the right boat for our needs. In fact most of his work came after our purchase as he helped with everything from coordinating boating classes, area familiarization, and even helping us find permanent storage in the area. It was evident he takes great pride in his profession and personally invested in his customers. We were also very appreciative of Captain Joes fantastic instruction with learning to handle our new boat as well as the docking and trailering instruction provided. He was patient and gave us the confidence we needed as new boaters. Finally, thank you Justin for all the time spent helping us understand how to properly maintain and troubleshoot any issues. We will definitely be back to purchase our next boat.

Just bought a new Boston Whaler and the whole experience was both enjoyable and easy. Ty Miller, my salesman, did an excellent job of helping me select a boat, coordinating the purchase process and installation of add-ons by the parts department and even came in on his day off for final delivery. Ty went above and beyond when he FedExd overnight the hearing aid my Dad lost during one of our visits. Captain Joe was very knowledgeable about the operation and features of the boat during the test ride. Johna made financing and finding insurance a breeze. I highly recommend Ty and his colleagues when purchasing a new boat!

When you spend the kind of money that is necessary to buy a brand new boat you expect everything to just work. Unfortunately when it comes to boats its just not that simple. Thankfully the service department at Marinemax Jacksonville is sympathetic to this phenomenon and goes above and beyond to make up for it. Morris and his team truly are top notch and Jacksonville is lucky to have them.Marcus, I can not thank you enough for consistent display of patience and resolve. You have single-handily made what should have been a miserable situation a fairly decent one. Your customer service is commendable and it would be wrong for me to not take this opportunity to recognize it. Edgar, thank you so much for making the trip to resolve my issue, it is greatly appreciated. I dont know what they are paying you guys but I am certain it isnt enough.Lastly, if you find yourself in the market for a boat you need to stop in and ask to speak to Grant. He will likely be out on a sea trial selling a boat but there is good reason for that. His service doesnt end with the sale, it really just begins. As a result he has managed to sell us 2 boats and will likely sell us another before he retires. :)

Hands down the best experience Ive ever had with a purchase. Ryan Landaal was great, from the time I first stopped in to inquire about a new Boston Whaler until the day he waived me goodbye as I was pulling out of the parking lot with our new boat behind us. Nothing at all like going to buy a car thats for sure.No games, no tricks, no excuses, just honest answers that where followed up by actions.If your thinking about buying a boat either new or used, give MarineMax Jacksonville a try.Not only was the whole sitting down and finding exactly what we wanted a very easy experience, the finance department was fast and helpful as well.Then when our new boat was ready for us to take home, they had a captain on hand to go out on the sea trial and go through the entire boat to explain everything and show me how it works as well as some tips on what not do LoL.Even though this wasnt my first boat, it was my first brand new boat so having a captain there to show me all my new electronics, trolling motor and other options we added was a real help. No down boating time means a lot to me. Friendly, Patient, Knowledgeable, Affordable, not sure what else I could say about the folks in the parts department at Marinemax! Carl, Larry and Captain Joe were some of the best people that we have ever dealt with. Weve bought a few boats in the last few years, and this was by far the best customer service we have ever received. We traveled to Jacksonville from Alabama, and it was worth the trip! They answered all of my questions, returned all my phone calls and gave us more than we expected to make our boating experience a great one. I would also suggest allowing Eddie to get you an insurance quote. He saved us a couple hundred dollars from the quote we got. Thanks again for everything and we hope to see you again!

My wife and I just purchased our first boat. After weeks of looking we decided to go with sea ray, with that being said we meet Jeff Wilson. Jeff hands down created one of the best sales experiences I have ever had. He was very helpful and up front with everything and has even called after the sale to make sure everything was still going good. I would highly recommend marine max and Jeff Wilson to anyone looking for a boat. On a side note the new beach location is really nice.

We went to Purchase our 1st boat at MarineMax and was very excited, After finding the boat that we were looking for our Salesman then Assured us that this would be the best experience ever However it turned out to be one of the worst in our lives their lack of communication in standards of operation are awful at best, After we secure our own financing through our bank they left out a wealth of information pertaining to the purchase past the sell-off person-to-person including the sales manager, We show up to buy the boat they tell us itll be two weeks and that they havent even started any of the paperwork or even order the trailer mind you this is 3 days after the fact then our sales person decides to take the day off which is fine but didnt let us know thank you MarineMax for the worst first experience and buying a boat.

Mr. Morris Hackett very helpful and knowledgeable on my 2017 Triton 21TRX .😎👌👍. My boat had a problem With tilt trimming constantly running downwards. Also installing my Lowrance Link-8 vhf Radio and hook it up to my HDS. Mr. Morris never gave up on the problem with trim problem because he had to check switches in the back of the motor by the captains chair And in the front by troll motor to check all the wires connections make sure running and connected properly. If the average person look at the wiring system on these boats they will start pulling their hairs handful at a time very nerve-racking situation. One thing I could tell about Mr. Morris the man does not know how to give up doesn’t matter how complicated the task in front of him would be very amazing man.Previous I done my service on my boat as far as oil change. changing thermostat. Pudding water and fuel separator secondary because the outboard motors they have a small fuel filter almost by the motor but I want to make sureIn case bad fuel water would not reach my outboard motor That will destroy the motor. Most of these marine technicians I seen at the MarineMax they are very professional and knowledgeable. Enough said Time to make your own decision how are you want to float in the water.

Purchased a brokered boat from a Mike at MarineMax on Beach Blvd. After using his suggested marine inspector ( my fault ) and after the closing on the boat, I hired a captain for review and training and multiple safety features were not functioning and multiple additional repairs were required. Be cautious, and hire your own person.Update: MarineMax did reach out to me concerned about this review. Mentioned that they will no longer suggest their favorite marine surveyors to potential customers.

Last Wednesday evening my wife and I looked at a used boat being offered for sale. I explained to our salesperson, Zack, that our preference was to sell the boat we had for sale; however, if the right boat came along we would consider making the purchase. I spoke with Zack on Friday and told him we would make our decision over the weekend and if we decided to purchase the boat it would have to depend on a survey, sea trial and haul out. Zack said that would be no problem, however he would need a signed purchase agreement and deposit to hold the boat while we made arrangements and assured us that any deposit made would be entirely refunded if we chose any time before the sale. I requested a copy of the purchase agreement on Friday so we could review it.In essence, the purchase agreement stated that once a deposit was made and the purchase agreement signed, we had 5 days to close on the purchase.I was surprised and just assumed that we had received the wrong document. When I texted Zack today I was told there was no error and again he reassured me that our deposit would be returned. We like Zack, which was one of the reasons we were moving forward, but as nice a guy as he is, his word does not hold up against a legally binding agreement.I texted Thank you anyway. I immediately received a call from Jeff the sales manager, almost as if it were expected. He also stated we would receive a refund if requested and I again pointed out the contradiction in the purchase agreement. He told me I could write in anything I liked and to initial it. I have neither the time or the inclination to rewrite their purchase agreement. When Jeff stated he was only a representative of the company and didnt make policy I knew further conversation was pointless.I was very insulted that they sent us the document without any comment and thought we would be naive enough not to notice. Frankly this casts a shadow over everything we have been told up to this point. I understand this is not a large sale and probably not worth their time; however, it is important to us.I gave two points instead of one because they were attentive and returned phone calls and texts quickly.

I have been buying new boats since 2001 and this has been the best experience I have ever had! Ryan was my salesman and he went over and beyond the call of duty to take care of my needs. His I can take care of that attitude was amazing. Everyone at the dealership was pleasant and cordial from the receptionist to the GM. This is the 1st boat Ive purchased from MarineMax but it definitely will not be my last. If you want a truely exceptional experience check them out..(ask for Ryan)!

We were looking for a Pontoon Boat yesterday. One of the dealers we went to was Marine Max. Mistake. Even though salesman Brandon told me the had 5-6 they didn’t. We asked for Brandon when we entered. Girl said she would get him.... well after about 10 minutes I asked if he was coming. That’s when she told us he was with a customer.... mind you we were right in front of her. Finally said she would get another salesman..... mistake!!! He sat in a desk right by the exit side door by the way. In no way was he friendly. Talking among ourselves we all noticed the treatment... like we were wasting his time... we we not as good as him... snobby. Anyway he did show us one boat ... but by the time we got to it we decided even if the boat was $20 we wouldn’t buy anything from Marine Max due to poor treatment. I’m going to go on and say he missed out on a sale!! We went back to Jacksonville Marine to the wonderful salesman who treated us great and purchased our dream Pontoon boat ... $42,000 cash! No not the most expensive boat but we deserved the same treatment as a big buyer!

I purchased this but approximately 8 months ago at the time I pointed out to the salesman in the maintenance manager the rust on the leaf springs and on the trailer they reassured me that it was only surface rust and nothing to worry about. A few months ago when loading my boat the leaf springs on one side gave way I had to have my boat towed home because it was not safe to be pulled. I replaced all the leaf springs hubs and wheels because they were so rusted. The lug nuts were so rusted I was not able to get them off even with the impact gun they broke off. MarineMax did contact me after they sent me a survey and they were not happy with the rating I gave them they were very smug while talking to me and said they would get back with me which never happened. There was a problem with the Kenwood radio from the beginning they said they fixed it still kept having problems so they sent me a Boss radio which is the cheapest on the market. At the time of the purchase of the boat I did offer to pay half of a new trailer they refused thing this trailer was in perfect condition. So my advice to you if youre going to buy a used boat for MarineMax dont double check the boat triple check the boat. Another thing we had set up a date and time for a test ride of the boat when we arrived our sales when was out to lunch and the boat was not even in the water ready to go. We live over 3 hours away. I use this but only in freshwater.This is only in my opinion just before you sign on the dotted line make sure you triple check to make sure you are completely satisfied.Thank youAndrew

We looked at several boats from several other dealers with mixed experiences. The reason we bought our boat at MarineMax was Tommy Kinchen. He’s a nice, easy going guy which is great, but what really stood out for us was his professionalism: he was thorough, knowledgeable, paid attention to the details and treated us very well. He’s a licensed captain and knows loads about boats, boating and fishing, which was super helpful. When we did a sea trial, he had taken the boat out the day before to ensure he knew all the details and pre-tested the features that were important to us. That was a nice touch. He also made sure the delivery was convenient for us.After the delivery, Rick in the service department was thorough and professional. We ordered some accessories and had a punch-list for service to complete. Rick and I walked through the lists on the phone to ensure they had everything covered. Rick is also very knowledgable, he’s retired Coast Guard and was very helpful with safety and laws on the water. We are very happy with the boat. Will post more about service as time goes on.Great experience. I’d buy another boat from Tommy and happily recommend him.

Service experience was all over the place. Never once did the staff call to update me on anything and I’m convinced that if I hadn’t called to check in, my boat would still be there 3 weeks later. When I went to pick up boat, it was dirty (towels and grass all in the boat), the Bimini Top was broken, and my 7point adapter was no where to be found. They still have not gotten back to me about how they are going to fix my Bimini top and when taking boat out this past weekend, I discovered they hadn’t fixed an issue I paid them over $150 to fix. Service prices were very steep, especially for what is provided. I would not recommend them due to the extreme lack of customer service.

Brought boat here for some engine work. Was greatly overcharged. Upon picking up the boat, it was full of water. They didn’t remove the plug while it sat there for a month in Florida rain, with batteries turned off. All five inverter house batteries are ruined.

Do not take your boat here for service. They did not hook the boat up to a computer like they said they would and then racked up a 500 dollar bill in diagnostics and estimated my repair at $7,000. My second opinion person hooked it up to the computer and can fix it for $2,000. They will lie, and price gouge you.

Best experience I could have asked for! First time boat purchase, and had to deal with numerous dealers until we found the right one... while I was worried about this being similar to buying a vehicle, I couldn’t have been more wrong. The staff, and overall experience, at MarineMax was exceptional to say the least... and were the reasons we chose our new boat over multiple competing dealers.First, our sales representative Larry was/is one of the most knowledgeable/ friendliest captains I’ve ever come across in my 12 years of being on the water with others. He went above and beyond from the start of the process thru the end. He never pushed his agenda and matched us with exactly what we were looking for without hesitation. He immediately found the “what I’M looking for, rather than what He’s looking to sell.” I truly know he was acting in the best interest of me and the seller to broker a truly fair deal. Very rare to find in sales! Upon closing the financing, Larry spent hours with us on the water to show us every detail of the “how to” on this vessel. Tips, Tricks, and Pearls of wisdom he offered without hesitation or asking. He made us feel comfortable from the second we walked into the front door. Then, after he really LISTENED to us...for a while...he was truly excited to carry us throughout the process. From the initial viewing, to the sea trial, negotiating, into financing, and even thru our vessel naming ceremony - Larry was with us all the way! He still checks in on us weekly... again I say, above and beyond!Lastly, the financing portion can always be a burden to go thru for major purchase as we all know, but Eddie was ABSOLUTELY a rockstar for us. Eddie literally found us the best rate options from multiple banks, found us the best insurance policy from multiple providers, and made the process absolutely seamless and painless.... he even offers up great stories that carry valuable life lessons that are truly entertaining. He even called me multiple times keeping me updated that he found even better rates with refunds coming my way!!! I’ve dealt with dozens of finance managers in my years and Eddie ranks #1 by a long shot.If you’re in the market for a new boat, then do yourself a favor.... find Larry and Eddie ASAP. This is the most horrible service department i have ever dealt with. They have never fixed my brand new sea pro right and it has been back there atleast 6 times. Sea pro fired them for a good reason. They will act all nice to your face but the guys working on your boat dont care about your boat. I bought my boat from the boat show in 2018 and i lost steering the first time out and my motor would trim up and down on its own while i was running. They promised me that they fixed it after the 5th time. false! I contacted sea pro and they said that marine max has never called or emailed to try and figure out the issues wrong with the boat. I had family on the water 3 times and had to get towed in due to negligence on marine max. I called sea pro and fixed 2 of the issues myself with a 5 minute phone call. I was so fed up with the service team at marine max, i told sea pro they could have the boat back unless they would fix my boat right. I then took my boat to a certified marine mechanic approved by sea pro and mercury marine and within 2 days they had my boat 100%. I set up marine max with a tactic on my own with removing some screws from another part of the boat to another place to accomodate me while i was broke down in order to get back to the ramp. Guess what, marine max said the problem was fixed. FALSE AGAIN! They never even look at the broken piece under my console and ASSUMED it was whatever they thought was broken which did not fix my boat. We are also having issues with another boat that we have gotten from them the same year from the same boat show that they have lied about also boston whaler. I would never buy another boat from marine max in jacksonville, or any other marine max in the world. Worst boat dealer on the planet and i will never in my life step foot back on that landfill they call mrine max.

This place is a joke. We went to buy our first boat. Got the buyers order, went to the bank, got our boat loan and was denied by Marinemax because it wasnt cash. They dont accept a draft check from the bank. They want you to do a personal loan, pay more interest to buy from them. The draft check is just as good but they dont want to put in any effort to make a sale or to deal with the boat loan. They want their customers to pay more. They are all about the $$$$ not the customer. We even offered money down and still got no where. Dont go here unless you have cash or willing to pay 10xs the amount the boat is worth. Oh by the way we paid full year insurance coverage for 300k and nothing.

We bought our boat, Sea Ray Sundancer, from Marine Max in Clearwater by referral from a friend. Marine Max Clearwater really was awful, delivered our boat brand new 2016 dirty, damaged with way more than their claimed only test hours on boat & generator. I wont elaborate more (that would take all day). Lets just say LOADS of warranty work. Jeff Wilson made it all right, wished we would have bought from him! He has been, and continues to be AMAZING! We will buy our next boat from Jeff for sure. Marcus in service is also tip top. I dont know why anyone would go anywhere else. Thanks Jeff & Marcus from Elise & Bob

Charged me more than they quoted. Took a month longer than expected. I was told they did a sea trial after fixing it; however, the boat was mis wired and did not even start. I was stranded an hour and a half before they sent someone out to fix the problem that had already fixed.
