Native Sun offers a healthy alternative in the beaches area, carries unique products, has friendly and helpful staff, and a food and Smoothie Bar that offers good quality healthy flavorful food and beverage options.

So good I take mayport ferry from fernandina to shop here. Love the prepared food and salads.I would literally invest if owner opened market in fernandina.It would do better than Jax beach store

I have been coming to native sun for years! Its a shame that they had to close their bay meadows location… That was always the best to stop in for lunch! Everyone needs to cut them some slack, COVID has really hit the grassroots industry hard & its only going to get better if we do part. Shop local, Buy local!

A hidden gem! Such a beautiful store filled with fresh fruits and veggies, great selection of supplements and vitamins and delicious prepared food from the kitchen! Beautiful store. Huge selection. This is a really well designed store with a great layout. Met the owner and he’s clearly a super passionate person about natural foods. Hoping to come back soon to check out their hot bar/restaurant setup. Great competitor to WF. Wish they’d open up shop in Gainesville - this would crush in the right location.

The cashier Diamond, woman with longer dark hair completely ignored customers even when we were talking to her. She was just plain rude. I miss the Baymeadows branch. They had the best hot bar and kind associates. Ill just go to the Jacksonville Beach Whole Foods.

A great place to shop for all your natural health food goodies, especially when they have sales. I also love their hot bar for brunch or lunch with their outdoor seating option. So glad they were able to re-open again. Hope to see them expand again with another store back in their old Baymeadows location.

Disappointed. Im new to the area so I figured I would try this market but Im not impressed. My daughter and I walked through the entire store and not one staff member greeted us....not even the cashier. I wont be back...I dont spend money where I dont feel welcomed.

As usual the produce quality was high. As a health-conscious person, Ill budget my trips there for now because 7 customers I passed by were without masks at the height of the pandemic. I understand these people are intimidating and look forward to returning for seasonal produce.

4-day camping vacation near town; stopped in twice. Great grocery store with good selection (wife/son are vegetarian w/allergies to work around). Multiple employees were helpful whenever we had questions. The hot bar was my favorite. I know for sure we will be back at this location. I wish I could drop a copy of this store in my College Park neighborhood back in Orlando.

Still has a great staff and excellent selection, but I used to drive out of my way because they were also affordable. Could be due to covid, but the spike in prices(especially their produce)forces me to go elsewhere.

Native Sun is the only place I shop for groceries in Jacksonville. For years I went to the one on bay meadows, it’s truly a shame that they had to close that location... I have high hopes that they will make a come back! Until then I’ll just keep making the trip out to the beaches.

They offer all organic, all the time. And local when available. Their produce, meat and seafood are always fresh! The staff is always super knowledgeable and friendly. And the prices dont use your Whole paycheck!Way better then Fresh Marked, Luckys and Whole Foods combined.

So disappointed in this location! $6.00 for a paper thin half cheese quesadilla. The side of tabouleh I got was bone dry and completely inauthentic.I was the biggest fan of the Native Son on Baymeadows and would frequent that spot several times a month, but this one might as well be a different store altogether. Can’t wait for the new Whole Foods.

Still a joy to go into. i was so sad when they closed (baymeadows) but got to get lunch there again today while out by the beach. their salmon is delicious.

I always receive excellent customer care, but today an associate named Karen went above the call of duty. I will forever be grateful for how she chose to assist me in my time of need. She makes me feel Pride as a Beaches Resident. We are a true community and she proved that today. Thank you Karen.

My favorite place ever! Great selection of organic products and produce! The staff is extremely helpful and nice. The on site food is super fresh and yummy! If you are vegetarian, theyve got a great selection which is hard to find around here.

Natural foods, mostly organic. A growing range of vegetarian and vegan foods including Quorn, Amys and Gardein in the freezer. Vitalife cheeses in the dairy section. There is also the herbs, vitamins and supplements section. A fairly substantial hot and cold eatery and take-out beer and wine.

Always a pleasure to come at this supermarket. Staff is friendly, helpful and the store is ever clean. Well stocked. Highly recommended.

Just wanted to say that I had the best service imaginable today from Layla at the salad counter in Jax Beach. Her attention to detail is exceptional. Keep up the good work everyone at Native Sun. You guys are awesome. I find myself here all the time because the service is consistently great.

Rude, clerk asking customers cash or card I said not sure I will be back after I pick up a couple items. Back with items and said “cash” not paying attention talking to others rang me up. I handed $50 he began to tell me I was a problem because I gave him wrong information. I said no you weren’t paying attention I told you “cash” when I placed my items down. Presided Telling me no your wrong you did not say that. I said you should pay attention to your customer, he continued telling me “no your wrong”. Stephen you are misfitted at your job. His dishing out Attitude with the eyes and looks. Big L

I go here for unique products I cant find in my nearby health food stores and for the convenient location to home. They could competitively price the more commonly available products better...and managers please train your employees in better customer service. Ill keep going back now and then.

Anyone who rates this place less doesn’t go enough. I really hate being honest bc its such a great little hidden gem and I like to keep it on the dl.10/10/20 Update, store has completely changed since closing and reopening. Focus is all on profit now and most the heart and soul is gone. Just Excuses as to why things are run so differently now. The store did a great business before but now its kinda dead, no real good vibes and poor layout/flow. No hot bar, no cold case, just high profit fixing and prices are double most typical grocery. More of a pop in convenience store of sorts than anything special or worthwhile. To bad really messed up what was such a good thing.

The hot bar is delicious. My favorite is the lentil soup. Sometimes I come back for more on the same day! The customer service is incredible at this location. It seems like every customer is also super nice. Whenever I look like I am unsure of anything for like one minute, someone comes up to me and makes a suggestion. If I don’t know what is at the hot bar the employees usually tell me what is good. They also have smoothies and acai bowls and delicious healthy food. Love the beach location! I can ride my bike down the street to get some groceries.SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES!!Why would you want to go to Publix or Winn Dixie when Native Sun sells better food and has better customer service, frequently has much better prices, and the business actually reaches out to their community to address their needs because they’re not an enormous greedy corporation.

Native Sun had everything I was looking for and at great prices! I brought my 16 year old son with me and he was excited to try some new things. It is always a pleasure to shop at Native Sun.

Native Sun- you absolutely need to work on your smoothie/made to order foods section. Although the staff was friendly, the wait time is too long, staff is sparse during lunch time, only one register open and everyone looked stressed. Visited on May 4 beach location @ 1:15pm. Will stick to the Baymeadows location from now on. Upon reading several other reviews on here, it seems like an on-going issue. Change is necessary guys!

Everything was great. Went over to the deli to grab a sandwich for lunch. For first timers it’s imperative to know that if you want to order and sandwich, wrap, etc. that the little papers on the clipboard located under the pickup sign is how you order what you want. Going for the first time today, the person I went with and I did not know that this was the system of order and having not seen anyone else do this we were very confused when the employee asked us what we wanted and when we started ordering she grabbed the clipboard like there were signs all over the walls stating this was how we should order. It’s hard to explain but there really wasn’t much understanding or patience exuded by the staff. Working in food service and at a company that promotes incredible customer service had I acted the way I was treated I would have most likely received 0% tip on the bill and a customer complaint. Still receiving 4 stars because the food was amazing.

Great place to shop, most people will think because of their focus on healthy food that it will not taste good, think again they great food for you to pick up and go, 1000% better than going to some fast food place, I love their huge selection of salads and pretty much everything else they have to offer

Come on guys, you can do much better in the hot bar! The salmon cakes today were bone dry, your pasta was overcooked and hard as a rock, and the sides usually have no flavor at all. I love your fresh juices and spend a lot of money there, but for real, get some cooks in the deli and stop serving overcooked dishes!

Horrible service in the wraps/salad area. Employees seem uninterested in helping customers. I asked for a wrap to be made vegan and the guy said you want it gluten free? I said no vegan and he seemed confused then put my order in. After waiting 20 minutes I asked where it was they said they didnt have my order so I left. Its nice to have vegan options but I wish the staff actually cared about their jobs. One of the employees (heavier guy with beard) kept talking over me when I was ordering and would never stop conversations with his fellow employees who were trying to help me.

Not much selection that isnt already available from another smaller chain nearby. Prepared food bar is nice but the prices really are comparatively way higher. I support local businesses, organics and sustainables, but the difference in price versus selection is too dramatic. Hope they survive after the honeymoon is over.

Best organic spot in Jacksonville for a reason. Hot and prepared food is the big draw here, but nice staff, clean store.

This place is awesome!! Its nostalgic for us. My girls grew up drinking smoothies here after their beach ventures. We were disappointed when they closed and elated when they reopened. Love it even more now that it’s back!!

Great place to work and shop, competitive prices and selection. Recently added a craft beer bar at the customer service desk. Happy Hour starts at 4pm on weekends

This store is amazing, I love the look and feel of the Deli and the food is great. I surf in the area and this is my favorite stop right off of the beach. It has everything I need too recover from the Jax Beach swell. Thanks Native Sun!

Ive seen the food go downhill over the years... The bread has changed, the service was very slow today (despite about 5 staff members standing around doing nothing and 2 customers at the deli). I ordered 2 sandwiches this afternoon. The teriyaki tempeh (Which will always be my favorite sandwich) and the Portobello Philly Cheese. The mushrooms, peppers, and onions are all burnt completely black. Its inedible. But of course, I took it to-go, so I cant drive back to have it remade. Frustrating.

Honestly really over this place and how they operate the store.Their hot bar and pre made meals are eh, nothing special for a place that has the potential to be so much more.I just went to the store on Sunday and since they have extended hours till 8PM, I thought I would have enough time to go to the store and pick up some veggies to juice for tomorrow. I walk in and the ENTIRE produce line is pulled and 4 employees were sitting around the bar.Uhm, why be open if customers can’t have full access to their store? Makes no sense and if anything frustrates people that they wasted their time, trying to buy fresh produce.Don’t bother caring to supporting local businesses if they won’t bother giving good customer service.

Love this place! Salad bar, hot food bar etc has awesome pricing and such a great atmosphere and customer service - free wifi and comfortable seating, way better work environment than any coffee shop- favorite place to eat, read, work, and shop at the beach!

A little pricey but everything is amazing and I love the staff. I usually see my friend working there all the time, and the main cashier Josh is laid back and very cool. I go here fairly regularly. Try their Caribbean tempeh wrap with jerk aoli. Its amazing! Though the store is smaller I prefer it over EarthFare by far.

I absolutely love Native Sun but the beaches location needs to do better. Id rather drive out of the way and go to the Baymeadows location. The employees arent as friendly and the deli workers never seem to know whats going on. One time I waited over 20 minutes for a simple sandwich and I was the only one in there. Everytime I asked someone about my order theyd say they had to go to the back and check, only to come out still confused until finally the person who took my order came out with it. After that I started only ordering what was pre-made. Only problem with that is everything tasted bland and nothing like what you get at the other locations! So now I only go there for a handful of groceries and I drive to the Baymeadows location when I want something from the deli for lunch or brunch. Please do better at this location!

Unique Grocery store - why they closed it

Native Sun is by far my favorite grocery chain in Jacksonville!! Im from Jax beach and dont cross the ditch for much, but I was traveling all the way to the Baymeadows/9A location for a long time because it is so worth the drive for the fresh organic produce and all the other organic foods that Im looking for. Everyone is always super nice/helpful, and the store is always spotless. Didnt think it could get any better until one opened right in my neighborhood at the beach!!! Perfection! And those tempeh wraps mmmmmm!

Rude Rude RUDE! You call these people and ask if they carry a product, and they dont even check their inventory! They just say, No we dont carry that. Then you walk into the store, and find it there!!! WOW!

The stuck up deli employees like to talk about you behind your back if they think you cant hear them. I used to get lunch here often but now they have lost me as a customer permanently.

I can not believe that I live less than 1 mile from Native Sun, but have to drive across town to Trader Joes to find soy milk for my grand daughter that is made from just soy beans. She has an allergy to corn and corn products, as well as cow dairy products. I went thru the ingredients list on all your milk substitute products and couldnt find one whose ingredients were simply what they called themselves, they all had something else added to them. If I missed something, please let me know!
