They have a nice selection of books including a few discounted sections, and friendly helpful staff! The winning feature, however, was Oscar, the resident feline. We definitely plan to return to give Oscar head scratches if nothing else.

My love of books takes me to this amazing local book shop more often than it does to the BAM in the mall. They always have what Im looking for. And even when Im not looking for anything in particular I find something. They also have a store cat so...

Small town book stores are the best. And this one is deceiving; it’s huge! They carry nearly every new release, and then some. What I wouldn’t do to have a Book World in Stoughton! They also have a reward program which adds up quickly. The real secret to this place is the back area. Tons of discounted well-known and popular titles. They also have a huge variety of magazines as well. Barnes and Noble has nothing on this place. Oh, they also have a cute cat that chills out too! Highly recommend!

Phenomenal locally owned bookstore. Extremely well stocked. This is one of the best Ive visited, especially for its size. Well organized and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

This store discriminates against people with medical conditions that wearing a mask would be harmful to them. The sign on the door says masks are mandatory inside, which is totally understandable with things the way they are right now. . However, it also says that if you have medical conditions and cannot wear a mask, you are NOT ALLOWED in the store. You can do curbside pickup. So you arent welcome in the store, but your money is. Real nice! Thats blatant discrimination. Its really no different than saying if your black, gay....ect, you cant come inside. I absolutely wont ever shop there. Side note, I wear a mask when Im out, so this isnt even personal for me. I just think its really sh**ty policy.

Wonderful staff, good selection of all genres of books and will order anything for you with fast turn around time. They carry a large selection of magazines. Besides the friendly store cat, they have a surprising number of stuffed animals. Great place to browse and hang out.

I believe that this has been the most awesome bookstore Ive ever experienced I love it I wanted stuff from it and theyve ordered it in Ive got it in a few days I forgot about some of them and they still kept them for me for two or three weeks till my memory came back and I just love them now if you dont know about them I tell you go check them out you will be happy

A great bookstore right here in town. They do not have a huge selection but they have a decent variety of books. Prices are fair and they have a live in cat!

Good selection of magazines, a few kids comic books, and if you are looking for reasonably priced classic titles in decent hardcover, they have a small, but essential assortment. Im not a reader of popular, paperback fiction, but the store seems to have a good variety of new and recent bestsellers in softcover and hardcover.

Great little book store! Long ago we had Walden Books in the mall. Now that the mall is dying a prolonged demise, we need small businesses like Book World to keep variety in Janesville.

Upon entering, there was a sign on the door to keep a look out for the store cat. Being allergic, I kind of rolled my eyes in irritation that as a customer I have to help take care of the cat and make sure he didnt get out the door. As we were walking around though, we spotted the cat high on a shelf. My husband was eagerly anticipating it jumping down the the shelf far below. I stepped away to keep my distance. The car jumped down and proceeded to find his way over to me.... Crawled right into my lap and run his head against me. I couldnt resist! I pet him & quickly changed my mind about the sign on the door. So even though Im allergic, Im thinking I might return to the store just to spend some time reading and cuddling with Oscar, the store cat.Beyond the cat, the employees were very helpful and patient! We were looking for a certain edition of a magazine and they got us the answers we needed. As we were checking out, they told us the Christmas books were 20% off, so I decided to look to see if there were more I wanted. The cashier has no problem waiting to finish our purchase. Nor did she get frustrated when I added two more to my selection right after she finished the transaction! This seems like common sense (simply more profit for the business), but I think weve all been to places that the employees get annoyed when the customer is slow or needs to a second transaction, so I was grateful that this was not her response!I really enjoyed my visit here and plan to start visiting on a regular basis to put the 20% off coupon from the mail flyer to good use... And get a little dose of Oscar!

Very helpful staff. Clean environment. Diversely stocked collection. They even have a store pet there, who indeed seems to love it as much as I do!

Support your local bookstore rather than the chain stores! If the book is not in the store, Book World will order it for you. Yes, you will pay more, but that keeps the money local and maintains employment in the area!
