Normally its a big headache to me to go glasses shopping. Kayla made it sweet and simple, working with me to make sure my safety glasses were priority because of work reimbursement, and then making sure my sunglasses I wanted were affordable as well. I had the best experience and highly recommend this place and very specifically Kayla!

The staff was very friendly! Dr. Shepherd was amazing. She was very thorough, I enjoyed this appointment vs other appointments I’ve had in the past. They had so many frames to choose from, I had a hard time picking 1 . I loved all of them, they were fair priced as well.

I like Shopko Optical because there isnt guess work. Yes, its expensive to go there IF you dont have vision insurance. But the quality of the glasses, the thoroughness of the eye exam is 10/10. I have never had an issue with my glasses or contact prescription through them.I went to a competitor optical center and had a horrible experience. I wasted 45 minutes to have a failed eye exam. But even with the eye exam they were going to give me, my prescription would have been drastically incorrect. Virtual eye exams just dont work. If you want a professional eye exam and a correct prescription, go to Shopko Optical. Theyre friendly, professional, and its beyond clean in there in case anyone is worried about COVID procedures.

I had Dr. Shepherd, she was very nice and did a good job with the eye exam. The lady I had after her to decide on my actual glasses and pay for my prescription and eye exam was not as friendly.

After terrible service and wasting money on Stanton Optical as they insisted that my new prescription from them would take some time to adjust to, dont fall for it you are wasting your money! After making an appointment with Shopko I was instantly greeted with friendliness and helpfulness the minute I walked in! I asked them to read the lenses from Stanton because I knew they were way off, to no surprise they were indeed by almost four levels of difference in one eye alone! Dr. Shepherd is very personable and will take the time to explain each step of the exam and what it means to your eye health and level of sight. The other workers there were also a great asset to the team with their great attitudes and knowledge! Dont waste your money by going to those same day low cost places like Stanton, stay local with a professional licensed optometrist on sight and not on a tv screen!

I showed up for my appointment 30 min late. I moved here two months ago, I could not find it, google maps took me to a closed Shopko in a barely open Mall. I ended up flagging down a police officer in his car who told me shopko optical was now across the hwy about 5 minutes away. When I walked in I said I know I was late but I could not find the place. No sorry you could not find us, no empathy whatsoever.I was told to wait while she talked to the doctor. It’s was a 5:00pm appointment and they were open until 7:00pm. Nobody was in the store. I get it, I showed up at 5:30, half hour late.You should know, this is post Covid-19, I have broken glasses, taped together, an old prescription and I made the appointment 3 weeks in advance. She came out and told me they would not see me and I needed to reschedule. I was so mad I just said no thanks and walked out.I wait for customers every day. Given the business environment right now I am begging for customers. No explanation, no, we’re sorry but we are all booked up despite no customers in the store, just...you need to reschedule.I left a rather angry voicemail after I got in my car. No expletives just angry. About 5 min later I realized I did not leave my number so I called again asking for somebody to call back and explain why they could not see me. 3 hours later, no call, no explanation.This is actually my first review I have ever written for anything. I feel like I got the worst “welcome to the neighborhood ever”.Please call if you want to save a customer, I’ll give you another chance but I would like an explanation before I give it to you....

I have been a customer of Shopko Optical for decades. I have never had a bad experience until this year. I chose to use my current frames for my new computer glasses prescription. When the new lenses came in, three separate opticians tried to install them. Each one said theyd never seen frames like this but each one gave it a try then told me their manager would need to change the lenses. As it turned out, my frames suddenly needed a part that would take a couple of days. Im now 4 weeks without the glasses I need for work. No-one called me to keep me up to date on the status- I had to call. No-one told me the wrong part came in and they needed to re-order it. Employees said the manager would call, but she never did. All I heard of the manager was her saying in the background Im at the mercy of the supplier. The customer service was appalling. Ive since had to go to a one hour place and spend more money so that I could see my computer for work. I may go to the same optometrist again but I wont be buying any glasses from Shopko again.

I have been a patient of Dr. Shepherds for many years. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and explains insurance and sales thoroughly. The doctor answers any and all questions. I love Janesvilles new location!

Exam was good, but had been promised insurance was checked and covered prior to the exam and then found out immediately after that it wasnt covered for me or the 3 kids Id had appointments with. That was a large unexpected bill.

Needed to get an exam and my first ever pair of glasses at 42. They wanted me to get some insanely expensive bifocals and I wasnt having it. Im glad I didnt get what they wanted me to take. I figured it made no sense if I really dont like wearing glasses to begin with to jump straight into one really expensive pair of bifocals. Instead I ordered the same thing from Zenni and absolutely hated the bifocals (Ill just throw them away for what they cost). What was good was that the glasses from Zenni were only about $60 vs just the frames alone here being over $100. I reordered from Zenni for just a single prescription and still spent less than just the frames from Shopko. Basically, they would have given me something that would have made my life so awful I would have thrown $300-$400 in a drawer and suffered instead.

This was one of the worst experiences of poor customer service I have encountered, very rude lady that cashed me out not helpful what so ever I felt very uncomfortable she didn’t want to answer any of my questions or assist me in any way

After going to Newcomb Eye center in Roscoe IL and getting the incorrect eye prescription twice.Dr. Shepard at Shopko Optical did an excellent job with my wife’s exam and prescription. We are VERY HAPPY with the services provided Shopko Optical. We will continue to go to Shopko Optical in Janesville.

Do not get your glasses made at Shopko, unless you have many weeks to wait on them.
