They have very good collection of musical instruments. I have been there several times to check Guitars, Ukulele etc. Things are not cheap here, but I bought a Taylor Academy 12e-N and I think I got good deal for that Guitar, thanks to Mr. Will.

I bought my first guitar in about 4 years here and it is also my first strat. I can say I have never had a more pleasant shopping experience in a music store and I cant wait to buy my next piece of gear from them.

Purchased a taylor gs mini today!! Store is an hour and half away from me. Store employee was very knowledgeable. He didnt try to oversell. Even though I had a good size budget, he found a mid-range guitar that was better suited to my needs. Highly recommend . Next time Im in jeff Ill be stopping in again

I recently started playing guitar and I think Will West is the best!!!! Very helpful and friendly and answers all of my questions. ( and believe me, I have a lot ) Contrary to what other people have said about Will himself being conceited, a jerk, or pushy etc., I completely DISAGREE. Ive been here a dozen times in the last month or so and Ive never once caught that vibe from him! If you need anything instrument/music wise this is the ONLY PLACE TO GO!!!!

I dropped off 3 high end guitars that were way out of wack,and Im what they call,a very picky person when it comes to how I like my guitars set up..they nailed it.

Ive been playing guitar for 16 years now Ive also traveled a lot so I will say they do have some decent priced guitars and are willing to deal the staff are knowledgeable and are eager to help with your needs wether it be advice or your looking for a specific instrument however, Mr. West is very pushy he will follow you around the store and if you play an instrument and you add your own spin to something he voices his opinion on if its the correct way to play it or not and will try to show you up and make you feel stupid. On another occasion I came in with my brother who also plays and we were trying to pass time so we looked at some of the pricier guitars (Gibsons, Martins, etc.) Mr. West came in and told us they had just restrung the instruments for people who wanted to buy them and made other insinuating comments that suggested we couldnt afford them and shouldnt play them ...all in all the pricing is fair and staff is knowledgeable but Mr. West is very rude and pushy I only shop there because its the closest shop locally .

I rarely write online reviews, but my experience in Will West Music yesterday was so positive I felt compelled to write a review. I came in need of several accessories for a mic I had just bought. I could hardly believe how helpful the customer service was, to help me get what I was looking for and what would work for me. Im bringing my future audio/video business here and am already recommending it to friends and family!

This store has the best selection and the most knowledgeable staff of any brick-and-mortar store in Missouri. If you need something they dont keep in stock, they can order it for you. If you have a problem, theyll work with you. Ive personally watched Will West himself bend over backwards to make sure he keeps his customers happy, and I always make sure to stop by to say hello whenever Im in the area. The prices in that store are as low as the bad guys online, and theyll give you the best value for any trades.Also, everyone on staff is a professional entertainer, and a shameful music geek! A great bunch of guys. My favorite section is their wall of DJ lights and lasers. Awesome:)

My overall experience was good, but Mr West is an issue. I bought a solid guitar, a bit overpriced, but thats the name of the game with musical instruments - it is always over valued, not as bad as jewelry but pretty bad. However, the guy I dealt with directly was very helpful and patient. I have forgotten his name, shame on me, but he was very courteous and professional. Mr. West came in later when I was still deciding on a guitar and just killing time. I was not in hurry, so I told the guy helping me to go ahead with other customers. Anyway, I wouldve given them 5 stars even with the overpriced guitar, but my brief interchange with Mr. West was enough to diminish my opinion of Will West Music and Sound. Im not sure if he means to be rude and impatient, but thats exactly how he came off to me. He certainly didnt make me feel like a valued customer, or does he seem very respectful to his employees. I will most likely shop there again, but I will call first to make sure Mr. West isnt going to be there if I return.

My experience at Will West Music has always been very positive. From the first time I walked into the store to buy strings 10 years ago to the many guitars Ive purchased up to the very present. WIll and his staff are extremely knowledgeable about their inventory and its vast!! It has to be the largest selection in the Mid-Missouri area! Fair prices and customer service after- the- sale are very important to me and they do an excellent job in both of these areas. Plus, all of them are accomplished musicians too, so they can answer ANY question you may have about equipment, set-up, lighting, sound, etc. Great store and a MUST SEE if you are in the area.

I love Will West Music! Ive met Will several times and it has always been a great experience. Hes very knowledgeable and so are his employees. Always helpful! One of my favorite buys there is my Taylor 114ce. Bought it from there 7 years ago and had to take it in once this year to fix an issue with the pickup inside. Had no issues working with them to get this taken care of.Update: My 9 year old just bought his first guitar from Will West! Another great experience. Once again, the staff was super friendly and very helpful. Thank you!

Will West sure is conceited. Ive been in there twice. Both times he was incredibly stuck on himself, very condescending to his staff, and so busy trying to show off and build himself up that I left. I chose a store in Columbia with a welcoming attitude. They were willing to let me take my time making a decision. And nobody came and showed off. When you do business at a place like this, you put money in the pocket of a narcissist.

I went here not expecting much but right when I walked in I was greeted by one of the personal and they were kind and helpful and gave tips on how to get better at instruments not like guts it center where I have to ask the employees for them to even say a word

Decided to purchase a new acoustic, walked in to Will West expecting to see a selection of about 7 guitars like usual. Then I was introduced to their DEDICATED ROOM to acoustic guitars and I fell in love. Had to be about 40 top quality instruments, Martins, Taylors, Gibsons, you name it. No sales pressure, got to spend some good time with the owner, and found a unique guitar that was perfect. This is the place to buy, good prices, fair folks, and will do business with them for the rest of my days.

Will is a rude, condescending jerk. Been in a few times. He is the reason I buy from Sweetwater, AMS, or make trips to Guitar Center in KC if I really feel the need to try before I buy. I am a 50 year old professional musician, with a real job. He acts like everyone in the store is new to music and cant afford what they are looking at/for. BTW, mind the fingerprints on the guitars, and No need to play so aggressively. Aplologies Will, I forgot I was the customer interested in a HD-35....I was made to feel very uncomfortable while trying to shop for a very meaningful, expensive, and important guitar. At the least, important to me.

I was speaking with a young man about a guitar when the owner very rudely interrupted and took it away from me and started trying to show off. Found a better deal and a better place to buy.

Great place with decent prices. Very informative but lack in helping beginners with restringing unless speaking to the right person.

Went there and bought a Peavey PowerSlide. I found Will to be very nice and he even showed me a vintage lap steel in his collection. I would highly recommend Will West Music and Sound for your musical needs.

Will West is rude and condescending to his customers AND his staff. I will never shop here again. He will screw his customers at every opportunity as long as it makes him a buck. The only reason hes still in business is because the other two stores suck even worse than his.
