I had a very specific request for my v8 powered Genesis that we’d done a “muffler delete” on just a year ago - I asked them to “keep the sound and volume but get rid of the droning noise at certain RPM ranges”.I’m not going to tell you it was cheap but they nailed it in just two days. You’re not really able to preview what their solution is so trust is involved.Now I have an amazing sound from my car and much more importantly, a happier wife!

This place does the best exhaust work in Kentucky, and also is a great full service shop. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. The owner is weird, but hes a really nice guy and likes to chat with people so always ask for him if hes there.

Rich at BLUEGRASS MUFFLER did an amazing job. He took a piece of exhaust that was screwed up by another company and made it look like there was no damage done originally. Very skilled and excellent work. Bluegrass Muffler is one of the few places that still uses stainless steel. I was actually surprised to find that most muffler shops don’t even weld or install stainless steel anymore.

Driving through State and called Bluegrass to see if they can assist us with a custom fix to get us on the road. They were very tentative and squeezed us in. So there I was on day 1 of a 2 day 1700+ mile drive of insanity and I get a flat on I-64. I change it by the side of the highway and call AAA to figure out where to go to get my tire fixed. AAA directs me to Bluegrass Muffler & Brake which turns out to be just a few miles away. I call ahead and they assure me that theyll be able to get me fixed up and on my way. They are unable to repair my tire, but they have a gently used tire of the same size that they mount and balance for next to nothing. This gets me off the spare and back on the road quickly and safely. They kept my road trip from being much worse than it could have been. A+, would recommend.

My family and i have used bluegrass for almost 10 years, mainly for performance modifications. They do great work. I plan on taking my motorcycle exhaust in the future to have some work done. Always recommend to friends in need of exhaust work

These guys did a muffler delete and installed a k&n cold air intake on my 2020 RST Suburban today. Quality of work was top notch! Sounds amazing! Not to mention they saved me from spending an extra $1200 at the dealership on unnecessary parts for the same outcome on the exhaust. Very honest and friendly staff. Highly recommend!!

PLEASE READ MY STORY:(DESERVES 10 STARSThis review was done for my Mom.MY MOM SAID, she was told by BLUEGRASS MUFFLER &BREAK INC. that she needed several items she had just replaced by her mechanic friend. Mom said they didnt want her to drive off their lot without getting the car fixed right then due to the seriousness of the problem the car was not safe to drive. Unfortunately she drove off but thankfully stayed safe. Mom called her mechanic friend to discuss what was said. He told her that no he didnt fix that problem and yes he was aware of it. He had no urgency or care about the well being of my mom. I feel foolish for not having all the facts prior to my first review!

We had to replace a stolen catalytic converter and we were not sure where to go. I needed some place close to where we live and Bluegrass muffler was the first to pop up. I called to see if I could get a general quote and he said to bring it in as they do free quotes. The staff was very helpful. I left the car overnight and they called me the next day at 8:30 AM letting me know that the car was finished. This place has definitely restored my confidence in honest and professional auto shops. I highly recommend them.

Brought in my bmw with what I was told needed expansion coolant tank, replace ouler cooler thermastat so had it replaced. Was told it ran for 30 minutes and had no problems or leaks, the cost for repairs $560. Before I got it home (6 miles away) on a Friday afternoon the low coolant light was on. Didnt drive the car all weekend and called back on Monday and was asked to bring it back in. Was then told the water pump and an additional hose needed replaced. That would be an additional $600+, i wish the original diagnosis was for $1,160 so I didnt waste $560 for nothing.

Exhaust blowing out where its not supposed to? Bluegrass Muffler should be your first choice to get it blowing out the back end like it should. Or, if youre looking for a custom pipe job, they can help you get it blowing out in any direction you fancy. Not only that, but it can be tough to find a reliable mechanic. Give bluegrass a call for general repairs and maintenance too! Great people to work with.

Extortion is the word that comes to mind, I brought my car into them to take a look at a broken elbow pipe. They looked and said it would be worse case scenario $250. I made an appointment and brought it in, after a few hours they call back and tell me theres a bunch of other things wrong with it and its going to be almost $700!!! I told them I wasnt concerned about the other issues they found and I just wanted the elbow fixed as it was causing damage to the car. They try to tell me that it wouldnt be safe to only fix the elbow and if have the do the entire thing. I declined their services and took it to Meineke on Bardstown in Fern Creek, I didnt tell them what to look for, I just asked them to look over the exhaust as a whole and let me know what they think.Meineke said nothing else appeared to be wrong and they were able to fix the elbow in 45 minutes and only charged $157.Save your money, dont work with Bluegrass muffler. Go someplace honest.

Our truck was stolen from their lot...they didnt even notice til we came to pick it up. They charged us for the repair and then when they couldnt find the truck, REFUSED to refund our money. They also refused to help with insurance and their insurance refused to refund us as well. Found out another truck was stolen days later...BEWARE!!!

They took time to listen to what I wanted and the sound I was hoping for. The welds are unbelievable and the price was reasonable. Plus, my exhaust is made in the USA. I highly recommend them. My son is the one who was having the previous commenters car checked out by Bluegrass Muffler & Brake. I will just say that his experience is entirely different from ours. These people are as honest as the day is long and almost seem to lack any self-interest when it comes to explaining what our cars need. Part of the issue here is that they wanted to spend a lot more time inspecting the sellers car than the seller felt was reasonable. He found it unbelievable, but they are just that conscientious and wanted to do right by us and our son. They have been really good to us and to two of our young drivers. I wouldnt think of going anywhere else.

Alex and staff were quick with repairs at a reasonable price. Got my truck diagnosed and back in 24 hours. I have found a new shoo.

Dropped off my 350z for exhaust repair and was quoted $400+ to ensure proper fitment of the exhaust that was already installed on my car. A couple weeks later and the axle back separated at the back of the car and is now bouncing around and burning the rear bumper!! 👍

They did exhaust on my 2002 Camaro, that had the factory SLP center mount exhaust setup. Their ability to bend 3 stainless was the deciding factor to use them, and glad I did. The welds, bends and routing were clean. Would recommend for custom exhaust work!

I had them install racing headers and then build a custom 2.5 inch mandrel bent exhaust from the catalytic converter to a new racing muffler I bought. Here is a list of things they did wrong: 1: They broke one of the exhaust manifold bolts, didnt tell me, and just left it with the missing bolt. 2. A couple years later, two of the exhaust hangers broke off the muffler leaving big holes in the muffler, they shouldnt have welded the hangers to the muffler, instead they should have used a strap, but what do they know about racing mufflers. 3. Turns out the mandrel bent piping has large inefficient folds in it, it would have been nice if they told me that before they did the job, I thought I was getting a true mandrel bent exhaust. Looking at their pics, it looks like they might actually be able to do that now. 4. As soon as the first hanger broke, the piping hung so low that it hit the rear a-arms when the car bounced, denting the exhaust pipe, this is mostly because the hanger right next to the a-arms is so loose, that it serves no purpose, it was installed incorrectly. 5. The icing on the cake; I just took off my catalytic converter and noticed they actually had the audacity to use one of the original flanges that only has a 1 1/4 inch hole it, totally defeating the purpose of upgrading to a 2.5 inch exhaust. Even the stock catalytic converter had 2.5 inch inlet and outlets, so there is absolutely no excuse here. It was just a rush job to them. Anything they could have possibly messed up, they messed up, with one exception: at least the welds held up, but thats simple to achieve. Now I have to completely redo everything they have done, what a waist of a lot of $300. And now that my muffler has holes in it because the hangers broke off, I need to get a new muffler, costing me just that much more money to fix all of this.

Greatest exhaust and welding shop in the city. Alex takes great pride in his work and always goes above and beyond to help his customers. Always fair and honest, I never have to worry about them taking advantage of anyone I send their way. I have never heard of a legitimate bad experience with these guys, probably because it doesnt exist.

These guys are awesome. Rich has helped me with several projects and he is always top notch. There is a right way to do things, and that is the only way they do it. They are busy, because they are the best... Dont listen to these 1 star fools. The world is full of people with unrealistic expectations.

So we needed to get our stainless steel headers rewelded. And they said they would do that and pressure test for the quoted amount. When we called to see if they were ready, they said they were but they didn’t pressure test the headers because it would be an extra charge. They did good work, but if you’re going to quote me for both..you probably shouldn’t turn around and say it’s now extra. Super friendly though..but kinda shady..

These guys are incredible, straight talk and a GREAT work done to my car. I have a 2014 Mustang GT premium and was trying to make it a bit louder, I went to them last week and I was told about another customer who was there one day earlier to change his muffler to make it LESS loud (They did not try to pressure me into buying the products they have in stock), they called the gentleman for me, I spoke to him, made a deal to buy his stuff, I brought my car back today to the shop and they installed it for me, they also installed a cold air intake that I bought online. Excellent work, very nice and decent people. I absolutely recommend them for all your needs, whether regular or custom work. I forgot to mention, they charge very reasonable prices too. Alex and Richard are one of the most decent people you will ever meet in your life. Thank you guys very much for all your great work. You made my son and myself very very happy.

Took my Dads car here to get the muffler connection to the exhaust repaired. Got a call back saying they need to replace the whole exhaust up to the flex pipe and they quoted me over $980! Even if they were to use stainless the metal alone wouldnt even be close to half that price. I didnt even feel like negotiating after that. It seems to me they saw a situation and decided they could take advantage of someone instead of making a fair offer. Went to Affordable Muffler on Dixie and got it repaired for $89 total and the work was completed in under an hour.

Wonderful job fixing loose heat shields that were rattling! Cost was very low and I my vehicle was only there for a half day.

Needed headers re welded. They did a fantastic job, but make sure you get in writing what they are going to preform. Was quoted one thing and charged for another

I met with a tech one day to discuss the scope of work I needed to have completed. I bring the vehicle on agreed upon day and there is a different tech that knows nothing about it. He is now helping me out by looking at it over the course of a day but the work will not be done that day. I had to explain everything all over again to the 2nd tech. The tech tells me I have a 3 week wait for custom stuff. Huh? How is this a functioning business? This is clearly not the Bluegrass Muffler that used to be in Middletown. The building says Atwood Automotive on it. Very sad and quite disturbing.

I dropped off my sons Jeep - prepared to pay for a new muffler - but after they inspected it they determined that it just needed tightening and sent me off free of charge... I will definitely be back and would (and will) recommend them to anyone without time or inclination to work on their own car...

Bluegrass Muffler just changed my life today - thank you!!!Id had what I was told elsewhere was a defunct muffler and an exhaust leak which was making my dog and I ill if we drove with the windows up. Plus the car sounded like a street rod and was killing us on fuel. Within minutes Rich diagnosed the problem and fixed everything in one afternoon - it was not the muffler after all and I can once again hear my radio without blasting it full volume. And we can breathe! I got out of there today for a little over $400, this old 1997 Lexus is once again purring like a kitten and were already seeing an improvement in gas mileage! Day we took vehicle in spoke directly to owner. He came out, looked out vehicle and said they could fix it but it would take one week. We told him we needed it ASAP. Vehicle is still not fixed after numerous promises from owner of next week. It has been a total of 5 weeks and we can not get our vehicle back. We asked both the mechanic and owner why it was taking so long. Both of their answers were, We do not like doing this type job. We then asked both why did you take the job in the first place then? Mechanic shrugs and owner just smiles as he has our vehicle hostage and we cant get to it to even try and tow it out. No customer service here. They tell you one thing needs fixed and change what needs fixed as they go along. Stay away from this place! BEWARE!

I very recently had a custom exhaust for a mid-engine sports car designed and fabricated at Bluegrass Muffler. The craftsmanship was outstanding and I could not be happier. A well tuned exhaust on a sports car is very important. They considered pipe diameter, compression ratio, and placement of the O2 sensors to keep the car OBII compliant. There is no annoying highway drone, it is pleasant at lower RPM driving around town, and it sounds like a proper sports car when the RPMs are in the 6,000- 8,500 range. I highly recommend this shop. Ask for Alex.

They are awesome! They dont just replace everything and charge you hundreds of dollars. They find the problem, cut out that part of the pipe, and weld a new piece in. It saves tons of money and frustration on the part of the costumer. We will defiantly be bringing all of out muffler work to them.

Added Magnaflow exhausts to my car. Alex and Richard were great. They answered all my questions ( I can be kind of anal). Very friendly guys. My wife wanted a Magnaflow exhaust so I took it to them too. If anyone asks me if I know a good muffler shop I will tell them about Bluegrass.

I simply can not say enough positive about the guys at Bluegrass Muffler. I dropped off my 1JZGTE swapped Lexus SC300, Alex took the time to show me that the mufflers I had initially ordered were wrong and was adamant that for my own happiness, I exchange them with Summit Racing for the parts I need. Delaying his payment in the process. As the job eventually progressed he realized that mufflers would make contact with the body of the car. Rather than allowing it to cause a problem, he found a way to reroute the tips for an even better more custom look. On top of all of this, they fixed a boost leak that had plagued my car for months and have it running better than new. The craftsmanship on the custom exhaust is nothing short of first rate. I can not recommend Bluegrass Muffler highly enough, there is not enough words to express my gratitude

These guys at BG Muffler are great. I have a 2010 Camaro SS with many special upgrades that Ive added. I show this car at many of the local car shows. I trust this shop completely to always take great care of my car. They go out of their way to make sure the job is done correctly the first time. I have never had to take the car back for faulty work. They always do it right the first time. These guys completely customized my exhaust after I added long tube headers. I wanted the car to sound great going down the road (the way a real muscle car should) but also wanted it factory quiet inside the car. Alex the owner is an expert. He custom built the complete system with mufflers/resonators/J-pipes to give me exactly what I wanted without costing me any of my added horsepower. The exhaust looks and sounds perfect. They have also done axle/driveshaft/engine/brake repairs along with special fabrication for me. Im so lucky to have them close on my side of town.

Very cocky to talk to, customer wanted to buy my car and wanted to get it checked out they told him to leave the car for 2 hours I went there asked the guy to call me whenever hes ready and I can come in 10 minutes he wasnt happy with that so I stayed there almost 2 hours and when I asked them how long they said its gonna be awhile before they get to it .VERY ARROGANT PEOPLE WOULD TAKE MY CAR THERE TO FIX IT FOR FREE BECAUSE I DO NOT TRUST COCKY ARROGANT PEOPLE.
