We bought a modular 20 years ago. Absolutely loved it! Was $30,000 less than what a builder quoted us for building the same house. And obviously was done much quicker.

I would highly recommend American Living Inc. to anyone considering to build. It is a great family-owned business that was started by the current presidents grandfather. The staff is very helpful and attentive to your needs. Building a modular home is a great way to go as you get the most accurate before-hand idea of what it will cost of building your new home.

Friendly staff, but you really need to look at the numbers versus stick built. Granted, this was a couple years ago, but the estimates we were getting from our salesman greatly underestimated excavation, well, septic, stuff like that - it made the price/sqft very attractive - almost seemed like a no-brainer. Once you get a couple quotes from a traditional builder that has an excavator, you kind of see what the real numbers are. Plug those numbers in your modular quote, and youll see that the value just isnt there, especially when you go with the modular upgrades.

The people there are very helpful and the homes they sell are beautiful and very functional.
