I have been coming to this meat store for many many years. I must admit, it is the cleanest, most sanitary and convenient mini supermarket in Jersey city. I dont give praise that easy especially when writing reviews. But I trust no other location for fresh quality meats.

Really friendly people with good prices of all halal stuff

Large selection of meat, spices and dried goods. Some frozen fish. milk, dahi and specialty beverages. Desi-style roti flour and daal, lentils and biscuits. Imported candies. Preserved/ pickled lemons and olives.

BEWARE OF MEAT THEFT within store - Store management is responsible.On 9/6/20, I ordered a half goat which was given to me in 9 or 10 plastic bags, but the billing code was only attached to one of the bags (see photo). Because the cart was heavy, I left it by the alley, while shopping for other stuff.In the interim, I suspect a store employee or the store manager pilfered 7 pounds of meat from my cart, costing $66.43. I had not yet paid for the meat. This person was aware of a loophole - that the entire billing charge is attached to a single bag, leaving anyone free to walk away with untagged bags.At checkout, I gave my cart to the cashier who billed me for all my tagged items. After paying, I noticed the quantity of meat was much less than what Id ordered. I went home and weighed, and found 7 lbs missing. So I received only half the meat I paid for.The store manager offered to give a partial credit, but I demanded nothing less than a full credit / refund for the overcharge. A customer is not responsible for items not purchased.The store has no CCTV installed in the main alley, and I suspect complicity of store employee(s)/manager.I will be pursuing a case against store manager.

We have been regular customers for almost 7 years and saw the store going through a change of management. We exclusively go there for the halal meat as the quality of their meat is much superior to other halal meat store even if it comes with a little pricey tag. The meat department is managed very well by Aslam Bhai and as long as he is there, it’s v neatly maintained and well organized. People complaining of smell of meat from a meat shop should consider ‘beyond’ meat products.We take the meat and pay for it immediately or order it over the phone in advance and pick up the bags and never have we experienced any shortage or pilferage by the management or store employees. Also, I would say that it’s common sense not to leave your bags unattended before or after paying for it and then suspect theft but we are grown ups that way.

In the meat section i was only me waiting for someone to serve me meat but no one did . There was 3 employees and i got served almost after 15 min rediculous

This is my Honest Review -Im a regular person to this store till now but these days they started selling stale meat . Ordered Goat Back Leg, but unfortunately my last visit was very bad experience . Wish they please take care of this .

The grocery store is clean but the meat shop people are not trustworthy. I asked for minced meat and they charged me extra without telling me because I had asked for selecting a piece.

A medium size market, good enough to provide you with all the things you need, mostly Indian-Pakistani items. The meat here in zabiha halal (orally confirmed with the owner). The small collection of dates here is good too!

This is my go to store. Very clean and well maintained. The service is amazing and fast. A great place to get fresh and high quality halal meat. I recommend this place to anyone looking for high quality halal.

Store manager pilfers meat. So you pay for 6lbs but you get 4.5lbs of halal meat. Dishonest store employees made it unpleasant shopping experience.

Al amana store is a gem in the rough. Located in Jersey City, it is one of the best halal markets in town. They always have the best and fresh meats that are without a doubt affordable. They carry a variety of middle eastern/ Asian products you cant go wrong. The store has dramatically changed over the years looking better than ever. The staff is very attentive to the customers needs. I would definitely recommend venturing out to see the store for yourself, its worth it.

I went today to buy meat. Unfortunately, it was a very bad experience. People who work behind the meat counter need to be fast. Two people took more than 20 minutes with one customer. When I asked the Bangali or the Indian guy, he didn’t even look at me. Ridiculous :( the old Arabic man was nice. However, the Bangali or Indian was like a idiot. Bad experience, and I would never go there. I went to SULTAN and took less than 2 minutes. That’s how business is. You guys need to learn how to do a business before you open it. SALAM

From reasonable prices, to wonderful service the meat is served beautifully fresh. There is a wide variation of foreign products ranging from Paki/Indian to Arab. In regards to the store, its cleanliness was outstanding, overall a very convenient and suggested halal store.

We ordered/paid for a goat leg but got mixed meat which had about 90% bone in itThank you, Sir! never thought that well have to watch out for these kind of surprises too

This is my favorite halal store in jersey city because Prices are very reasonable,the meat is always fresh and best part of getting the meat is just because of Aslam Bhai he is very kind and nice, the owner is very friendly with always a beautiful smile on her face I love her and most importantly the store is always very clean and well maintained I give this store 5 stars and will visit soon to get some more groceries.

Regularly buy chicken and goat paya here. Both are my favorites. Very neatly maintained and even you will get some south indian items like Palm Jaggery that sometimes wont available in Indian stores.

When fist I visited in Jul 2017, I got a good baby goat mutton however in subsequent visits I observed the meat is of no good quality. Its not a baby goat, I think its matured lamb meat with lot of fat but selling under baby goat meat. I wont recommend this shop to anybody else.

Ive attended this establishment several times before with good outcome. However last month I was escorted forcefully by some goon from behind the meat counter even after I paid for my purchase of a frozen dinner proving that I was not there to steal.I live right here on Logan Avenue. Many inhabitants know me as the little gray haired guy who wears a white hat and walks with the aid of a cane. I smile at everyone as I go by and am warmly greeted by the predominantly Moslem community. And so it must be noted that this is not a complaint about racism on either side. That I am a Puerto Rican is totally beside the point. Rather this is my recounting of how disgracefully I was treated at Al Amana Supermarket over all other fine Moslem establishments that I attend frequently and of the pain and hurt that has brought me to tears.

If you want a nice and clean place to get your halal meat from this is the place to go around jersey city area with the other one being Minar by the busy indian street.

Fresh meat.. with good service

I am a customer for more than 4 years. Al-Amana Meat Market is always my store when I am looking for Halal ( And I mean real Halal Zabiha ). They have wonderful foods, authentic spices and products that you cannot easily find around. All items are halal friendly for the family. The Lamb, Beef, Chicken and Turkey are freshly prepared and cut to you specifications. The butcher selection is one of the cleanest and it became much better after renovation, and dont forget to mention the couscous and basmati rice prices are worth it!I tried many times different stores but none of them could provide what Al Amana is providing.This store has an excellent customer service and from the owner Brother Muhamed to all employees, They are all friendly and ready to help you . And you feel at home when you enter by seeing all the Middle Eastern and North African groceries .Thank you brother Muhamed and all al-Amana team for your hard work to provide for our community a home of healthy and halal grocery !
