The atmosphere sets this place apart from other coffee and tea haunts in J.C. This is a great place to order a beverage and discuss good reads with friends. You can also slow-sip hot tea and melt away to indie beats while admiring a well-tended hanging pothos. The prices are in line with the rest of the area. The Drum Circle tea is tops!

Everytime I ride by, miss sitting inside. Best kept secret in town for a Plain Jane and Coffee. One of the only places I love sitting inside. Must go place. Love the Bebettes. Incredible place, I have to remember they open at seven.

This place is great! The customer service was in point they were very nice. The food was absolutely delicious. Pictured is what I got “the goat of monte crisco” it was so good. The goat cheese was super creamy and paired with the sweetness of the raspberry jam and salty of the bacon. This is a great local find, I will definitely be back and highly recommend. My brother got the basic with fruit and was also very satisfied.

Had a Goat of Monte Cristo and an Orange Blossom iced tea. The sandwich was tasty, but TINY. And no refills on the tea. $9 for the sandwich, but $4 for the tea and no refills? Come now. You can charge these prices for these relative portions in NYC, or Druid Hills Atlanta and and stay in business, but not in Johnson City, TN.

Hit there drive through by accident, and Ive been coming back at least 3 days a week since. Its the closest thing Ive had to a new Orleans style latte since I moved back here a few years ago. They make a fine cup of coffee. My new day spot. Love the house lavender

Good beignets. Had the goat of monte Christo and was pretty good. Coffee was amazing. You’d be happy with just the coffee alone. My husband had the classic and a London fog latte. Staff was very friendly and place was ver very clean. A triumph in my opinion due to the piles and piles of traditional powdered sugar served to every customer like so much crack. This place gave me much nostalgia for New Orleans. A lovely and surprising treat.Update: went back today and added the last star. It’s place is amazing! Added pic of “fingers”.

Weve never had beignets before, so this was our first experience. As you can see in the photos, we ordered the 3 beignet sampler plate, coffee w/ chicory, and almond latte. What follows is our first impression.Beignets:classic- somewhat like a funnel cake 🎂, only square and puffy.Chorro- much like a chorro you would get at Sams, Dollywood, or a Mexican restaurant - only in beignet style.Chocolate sauce - this was our favorite. If you love 🍫, then you should just get these. I wish they gave you an extra cup of the sauce.Drinks:Coffee with chicory - the coffee was about the strength of what you get in a house 🏡 coffee at Starbucks. I would prefer it to be about 2/3 this strength, but it was good and I drank it all.Almond latte - my wife ordered it with only half the almond flavor and it was good.Atmosphere:It was around 10 a.m. seating was about half full and got to about 3/4 before we left. I recall one drive thru order while we were there. Everything was peaceful, people seemed happy. A few students were studying on laptops, a 👪 came in. 🎶 was nice, older 50s style, which was pleasant.Price:Two drinks and the beignet sampler plate we shared was about $12. Thats a bit high for my budget, but 💰 aside, I would come back ( though not as often due to affordability).Conclusion: I would recommend you stop by and try it. The owner is there, and he and the employees seem happy to be there.

I love hunting down lil coffee shops and this one is a gem! The Chai Tea Latte was really good, but those beignets.... ooooh my!!! Delicious! Made to order, we had the Churro Beignets in Honey and Brown Sugar, sooo good! Very reasonably priced as well! Atmosphere is super cute! It was a great find!

I come here all the time and have always enjoyed it! I just left and I was surprised when the person taking my order seemed in a hurry which isnt the usual when I got my order they made my drink cold instead of hot after they literally asked me which I would prefer also ordered some beignets which i asked to have in fingers which also was wrong they just came as they normally do and didnt seem as fresh as they normally are. She offered to make my drink hot after i told her it was suppose to be but I had somewhere i needed to be just seems like an employee problem over all it is usually a great place.

Very poor attitude and did not refix my drink appropriately. I asked for a cortado (very simple drink) and explained how it was made. Was given a latte and asked for the drink i ordered. The frink was poured in half and returned. 2👎🏽

I enjoyed the beignets a great deal. They were a bit heavier than traditional beignets. The cafe au lait I got wasn’t made in the traditional manner though it was very tasty. The staff was kind of not overly hospitable. I would go again in the hopes everything was a bit better then the last visit.

This establishment feels great from the moment you walk in! The employees all seem very kind, and to enjoy their jobs. The plants add a very loving, personal touch to an environment that already makes you feel so comfortable. The service is always great, and I have never ordered anything I didn’t absolutely love. (I would eat tacos every day of my life)Also, it’s very obvious the management cares about the safety of their employees due to extended drive thru months, and requesting masks still be worn in the business until eating. Giving the employees the right to hold the customers accountable for their safety, and the safety of the other patrons... is admirable. I’m so glad this beautiful little business is thriving, in a year that has cut down so many. What a blessing this adorable little building has brought to Johnson City. Bebettes is the most magical place! Tender but slightly chewy fingers of dough dipped in homemade chocolate sauce is pure heaven. I do not have the willpower to drive by without getting beignets and a vanilla latte. Love love love everything about this place!!!

I stayed in the French quarter at Disney and fell in love with beignets. When we came home and found out y’all were opening soon I was so excited. DELICIOUS. I am currently in the French Quater of New Orleans to try the “authentic” version. So far I’ve tried Cafe Benignet and Cafe Du Monde the second is world famous. BEBETTES IS THE BEST! I can’t wait to get home to get more!

They are finally open. Beignet fans rejoice! The place looks great inside. Nice woodwork, shiny open concept kitchen, and not enough seating for all the business they are sure to get. There’s a drive through for convenience. There’s a bit of a wait at this time because this is their first week open, but it’s worth it. The coffee is great and the beignets are fantastic. Nice staff. Great eats. Support this new local spot, because so help me God, my wife will slip into a deep depression if her beignet hook up goes out of business.

Incredible first time experience at Bebettes yesterday afternoon. The ambience of the store was incredible, very minimalist with light greenery and crystals. I’m behind impressed with the iced blue matcha- I tried for several years to achieve a layered coffee personally, and succeeded with “pretty ones” or “ones that tasted good” and I was wildly impressed that the blue matcha managed to be both.But, I was above all impressed with the professionalism and stoicism of the staff, Shea and Hannah, when confronted with a quite aggressive anti-masker, who refused to follow their polite requests to follow their store policy. They continued to behave with a degree of friendliness that, to be perfectly honest, even after 17 years in the industry, I’m confident I would not have been able to achieve.In conclusion, environment, staff, and food were all fantastic.

Such a cute little coffee shop. I had the Goat of Monte Cristo and a hot Chai Tea latte. The Goat was absolutely amazing and the beignets were cooked perfectly! The chai tea latte was great. You get a lot of bang for your buck here. When its not as busy it would be a perfect place to study, if youre a student, or to sit quietly with a book and some coffee. My husband isnt a coffee drinker at all, but he really enjoyed his iced Drum Circle.

First coffee is excellent. My primary complaint is that for 7 to 9 dollars, you could cook the eggs to order. I will come by again and try the Eggs again. Gladly change my review further after a second try.

Orange blossom tea and plain Jane beignet was delicious

An earlier rating this morning is not good. I’ve been a customer at Bebettes since they opened. I also go to local restaurants. Wear a mask into the business. Once you sit down take it off. If I don’t like the way I think I’ve been treated (usually it’s me / sometimes I am an old cranky man) I don’t go back. Never have I overheard or observed any of the folks who work at Bebettes not being respectful to others.

Loved this place since they opened, but even more so now during CoVid, because they are one of those businesses who work to protect their staff and their customers by requiring those who enter to wear masks. It’s a hard time to run a business safely with all the crazy antimaskers out there. I have so much respect for the business owners who stick to their guns.

The first time I had Beignets was atCafe Dumond in New Orleans which was in 1998. Ive been trying to find a place that makes Beignets, the only other place I could find them was in Downtown Disney in Anaheim. Moved to Tennessee in 2017, then a yr ago Bebettes opened 😁😁 Best Beignets around.Thank you Bebettes

A true taste of New Orleans in the middle of Johnson City TN! Chicory coffee is brewed to perfection and the fresh beignets can’t be beat. I dare say the only thing that cafe du monde in NOLA had that bebettes doesn’t is the the view!

Picked up some sweets here. They were great.

Visited Bebette’s yesterday, and ate inside for the first time since pre-COVID! We had a larger party and all of the staff was super friendly and accommodating when we needed to move some tables around so that we could all sit together. Our coffee was perfect and our beignet sandwiches were delicious. We wore our masks walking inside, while we ordered, and when we got our food from the counter, and were free to remove them once we were sitting down to eat. Hands down my favorite local place for coffee, and I appreciate the staff doing their best to ensure the safety of all of their patrons (including the ones who don’t appreciate it).

I haven’t gotten to go in to Bebettes yet because of the virus, so I’ve only been able to order by drive-thru. I’m sooo happy this little shop opened in Johnson City. Today I got a French Lavender latte and it was the perfect amount of syrup, sugar, and coffee consistency.I’ve also had their Caprice Beignet, regular Beignet, and Churro Beignet. all incredible. I never even like Caprice typically but it’s probably one of my favorite lunches now.The staff is also extremely friendly, helpful, and patient everytime. :)

We were excited to try this new place after seeing some of the reviews...so disappointed and probably will not go back. Coffee was cold, no water and the breakfast sandwiches too sweet. For $27 for 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches, overpriced. Bummer:(

I was very excited to see that we were getting beignets in Johnson City, but after my first visit, Im pretty disappointed. I waited a few days for them to get into their groove, but when I picked up an order of 3 classic beignets today (and a tea latte, which was quite good), I knew as soon as I held the bag that I might have an issue - it was a good bit heavier than it should have been. Sadly, I was correct - the beignets were doughy and heavy, both under-risen and under cooked, instead of light fluffy pillows of sugar coated joy :( I may try them again in a few weeks, just to make sure this isnt a fluke, but right now, I wouldnt recommend...

No one makes a chocolate dream like them. Its made my day so many times during this pandemic.Its hard being a healthcare worker... And sometimes a special pick me up from Bebettes is all you need to get through the day.

This place has charming decor and good customer service, but I came expecting Cafe du Monde beignets and was let down. While not awful, I was not interested in eating another pastry after the first. Maybe they are just a different style than Cafe du Monde?While CdM beignets are pillowy, crispy, and aerated, these beignets are astonishingly dense and chewy. Their taste is rather like that of a unsugared pancake, or even pizza dough, which no feasible amount of powdered sugar can disguise because of the aforementioned density. Disappointing.

First of all I was very excited about having a beignet coffee shop in Johnson City. I have been to Cafe du Monde many times in my life I was looking forward to having fresh beignets and chicory coffee without traveling to New Orleans. That being said the beignets had no flavor and needed to be fried a little longer. Also, the beignets were very pricey at $5 for three. The coffee was fine however again the price point of $4 for a cup of Cafe au lait is a bit high (after all it is just coffee with milk). I will give them another chance since this is their opening day.

This morning I enjoyed fresh beignets and coffee with chiplotle. I have not tried beignets before but really enjoyed them. Thanks for bringing a bit of New Orleans to Johnson City.

Ate here today and enjoyed it for the most part. The coffee was good but wayyyyyy toooo hottt. I had to let it cool for a solid 10mins before it was drinkable. Good tho. We ordered the king and the country. Both delish but impossible to eat on the tiny little baby plates. Impossible to pick up and cut. Other than that I have not complaints. Id eat it again and plan to. Also it does not make sense that its all self serve (forks, napkins, coffee add ins, food drop off and what not) but their is no trash can. They should just let us bus our own table since that is the vibe already.

Great coffee with chicory. I got the El Coyote it has cinimon and chiplotle. Great flavor with a subtile kick at the end of every sip. My wife got the Almond and it is she says its great! The beignets are super fluffy and tasty. Made to order. Defintly stop in. I know we will be back often!
