Its a good store but they dont have the selection that bigger stores if you know what I mean they do have a great meet Department I recommend this store

HyVee is a friendly Midwest grocery store chain. They typically have the freshest produce of anu grocery store, and the best selection. Their focus may not always be on the lowest prices, but they have a better selection and higher quality product than some cheaper stores. Theyre not overpriced, just maybe not the lowest. I find them to be a good value for quality and money. Staff is always friendly!

People are friendly, store is well laid out and I can usually find everything. The bar seems so out of place in a family grocery store.

Nothing will ever replace Winco in my heart, but hyvee is an okay alternative. I feel its more comparable to a whole foods, and the prices reflect that but overall Im comfortable to buy groceries here.

Little strip mall with a variety of different businesses around. My babies and I went to fashion nail to get our nails done. Very neat & clean place👌 Staff are friendly👏😊They do have alcohol inside wine for customers & etc

Hyvee Chinese tasted like it was left over from lunch at room temp. Contacted a manager about the food quality and she was less than helpful. No apology or initiative to fix it the current problem. Just a Oh I guess you can get a refund the next time you bring in your receipt and it HAS to be at this location We are really disappointed in hyvee as of late, two times in a row getting terrible food at a premium price. I guess Ill just continue to get my groceries from target.

This gentleman right here. He is awesome! Thadee took the time to talk to me about Iowas wines and even tried to help me find more of the meads.

Almost every time I go there something is marked higher than it should be which per their policy they have to give it to you for free if it doesnt match the shelf price. So I usually end up getting something free but the reason that I really dislike coming here is the blonde Bosnian lady at customer service is so disrespectful every single time. She tried to refuse a return from Hy-Vee gas station in Ankeny because she said they dont carry the product, when we checked with the manager she found out she was wrong and didnt apologize. Instead she started to argue with her superior, so I guess she has a problem with everybody.

I have obswrved that the public restrooms need attention. When I have mentioned this to the managers in the past, they provide lip service.

Over worked and underpaid workers and on top of it hyvee has an issue hiring when managers dont show up for interviews 🙄 they waist everybodys time and the workers deserve better!

I went to this store this evening around 730 pm.The lady at customer service was very rude to me. Im a firm believer if you dont like helping customers dont work in customer service.i bought a lottery ticket for 2 plays. The dates was incorrect. When I pointed this out she said its not my problem its the machine. I also bought tickets for the fair I had come acrossed a post that I found on HyVee website saying a different price,I showed this to her then she said I dont know who posted it okay so now I paying more than what it was in the ad I saw on there Facebook Paige.I asked to talk with the manager she then said I am the manager. Okay well thats sad if she was I wont go to this store ever again.

Slow service, one lane with a checker. 4 people in line waiting. Went to self check. Conveyors did not work. When asked how to turn them on. Was informed they did not work on the lane, but all the others did. After pushing each item down the lane, started to bag. When went to finish checking items the lane was canceling purchase for inactivity. I then waited 5 min watching others check out until the staff came back to front of store to clear it so i could check out remaining items.If you know you have a lane that does not work, i suggest closing it. Or at minimum post that the belts do not work so people know before they unload a whole cart of food on it. Also self check out may be nice, but one manned checker on a sunday evening is not customer service. Remember what made hyvee helpful smile in every aisle. Because doing it all yourself may be convenient at times when the self-serve requires associate login twice and both times you wait because you can not find an employee. It does not feel convenient just frustrating.

Hyvee is notorious for having pricing issues. I had to go and take a picture of the label before the cashier would adjust my price. Two problems here: Hyvees prices are not accurate in their computers, the customer unknowingly pays extra unless they detect the discrepancy. Second, the cashier allowed a customer to return to the shelf to prove the price!? Is it a customers job to price check? Meanwhile other customers are waiting in line.

Folks... if you are new to this store, you are in for a very welcomed treat! In my honest opinion, I truly believe the employees here are rigorously trained in all areas of knowledge, skills and abilities! kindness has GOT to be their truest asset. Shop with a smile and happiness... Take care of this store, and it will take care of you too! 🙂👍🏼

It was awful. There is so much wrong with this store from management to what is stocked. The only positive is the meat/fish department.

You pay so much more than Walmart yet deal with what is Walmart competence... Hit up your local farmers market and do yourself a favor!!

Aisle online moves very slow as if the workers did not care what my day consisted of. I had to call multiple times and still took them over 20 minutes and i am still currently waiting. I could of went inside and shopped myself if i would of known it would take this long. I am a dasher and so this is impacting my work as well. 10/10 do not recommend using asile online at the hyvee on merle hay.

I like Hy-Vee very much. I am from out of town but come here often to visit my daughter. This is a full service grocery store that has a magnificent meat counter, bakery counter, and great produce. I much prefer coming to these stores over going to Walmart for food shopping. These stores are a bit more expensive than Walmart but the quality far surpasses that big box store.

I just bought gas, but it was fine.

The kitchen section is a bit lacking in variety in healthy options for order all they have is fried chicken and carbs. No good options for vegetables or a vegetarian diet. The Chinese looked old and it was around dinner time which is odd. Some employees are nice but Ive encountered some rude employees for the last couple days that Ive visited. ☺️

Purchased a plant to send to Casper, Wyoming. It took a little longer than I thought it should.

I love HyVee but sometimes their stuff is way too high and their fresh vegetables sometimes dont always look the best but thats anywhere you go

The only I dont like about Urbandale HyVee, is that everything in their looks and smells so good, I go in to get a gallon of milk and leave with $200 worth of food! Love me some HyVee!

Horrible customer service. I Stopped in to buy stamps this afternoon. While waiting at customer service first thing said to me is “We don’t have a mail drop.” Replied that I would just buy stamps then. Lady wouldn’t help me, made another employee come over. Equally unfriendly. Paid for my stamps and she wouldn’t even look at me as she handed them over. We have a family of five but will never buy groceries here again. Wish I could give zero stars.

I love that Hy-Vee not only has a Health Department but has integrated organics into their aisles.

Like most hy-vees, they got everything you need, I stopped in for some yard bags and the staff helped me out quickly.

Purchased 2 Flatbread pepporoni Pizzas, sloppily made. Had to add sauce as it never made it within 1 inch of the edge. Had to remove half the pepperoni due to smell and discoloration. Very skimpy with the mozzarella cheese. Disappointed in our hometown store.

They have self checkouts as well as regular ones very nice staff.

The pharmacy is always willing to help you any way they can.

I went here is my friend and the service was extremely slow and they were tix all around our seat and the meal was not good I do not recommend The restaurant in Hy-Vee

Edit. I ordered delivery chinese food for myself and a burger and fries for the kid. The asian food was ok. The fries for the burger were dark brown and unedible. Usually fresh groceries. Overpriced. I know the average employee doesnt get paid enough. Your ceos need a massive pay cut. And essential workers could get paid better.

Im giving this store a one star only because none isnt a option. This store has employees working at it that could care less about customer service. I have been ordering groceries delivered from this location for over a year and they have yet to get a order completely correct. Store management pays lip service to the customer when they call in, apology after apology but no change. My most recent dealing was with a person by the name of Tristan, supposedly a manager with the Hy-Vee Aisles department. During a conversation with him about another failed order he told me that he doesnt care if I get my order and I can take it up with someone tomorrow as they store was now closed. He clearly cares more about his personal time when he is being payed to care about his job.I wouldnt recommend this store if it could be avoided.

Nice Hy-Vee in Johnston. Smaller in size, but has a lot of items available. I prefer Fareway, but this store is a solid backup option. Friendly staff as well.

Dude this place is awesome! I am from Alabama and we do not have a grocery store this cool! It has a bar and a liquor section which is awesome and the Chinese food is great!

I have always found HyVee to a little pricier than the others and the pricing can be a little sneaky, i.e., pricing by the item and not by the pound. Some of the stores are far too large and parking is a problem.

Its a grocery store. There are lots of groceries. The scooters have been trashed, unfortunately. Staff are friendly.

Purchased a fried chicken dinner and the chicken was totally bloody when I stabbed my fork in it. The California shrimp rolls smelt horrible and the Chinese was old. I would never buy hot from them again. Management was acting funny about the refund but released it.

Used to love my neighborhood HyVee, never a bad experience, last 3 trips with new self checkout have been horrible.1st thought it was me but it’s everyone. I have watched other shoppers have issues. I have asked friends, same story, everyone hates it. The red light is supposed to mean HELP. After waiting 5 mins for help, the employees can’t even fix it. Worse business decision cust satisfaction ever. Won’t go back until it’s back to normal.

My biggest complaint about Hy-Vee is the way they split the isles up. It makes shopping much more difficult & confusing. While visiting family we shopped several different locations. My favorite location is on Douglas, their flower selection is way above any grocery store Ive ever been in!! Their bakery has such a wonderful selection of almost anything you could want, produce always seems to have a wide variety of fresh fruits & vegetables. This store also seems to cater more to senior citizens more than others. If we lived near a Hy-Vee (we live in Georgia)I would definitely pick this store for my shopping.
