Went to Ace to get some Staples, paintbrush and double-sided tape. Had a coupon on my phone that would not scan so the cashier entered it manually. All in all very helpful and we definitely shop here again

I called store to see if they did repairs on lawnmowers. Guy said it depends what the problem is. I needed to have the pull cord replaced so he said bring it on in. I believe the young mans name was Justin, Im not sure, though the young man did have a ponytail. I wasnt expecting him to fix it right then and there but he did. He replaced cord and even made me a handle out of some scrap wood because I didnt think to bring my handle in. In all it took about 20 minutes and cost $20. Service was great and I will definitely be going back.

A nice young lady named Ashlyn was very helpful. She was willing to help me understand things & I had a great experience with her. Very knowledgeable. The manager however, seemed to be very rude with not only her, but other customers (on multiple occasions). The workers however seem to know what they’re talking about!

As always, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They were also happy to order an item that was out of stock for me so that I can get it next week. I prefer shopping at this store when possible rather than larger chain stores because of the personal and knowledgeable help. Also, I wont get keys cut anywhere else. After trial and error, Ace is the only place to get a key cut right the first time! Thanks!

Not only did Ace help me find what I needed, they helped me find a manual and parts for a 1980s chainsaw. The staff is kind and courteous every time I visit. They really do enjoy helping you get what you need to tackle your projects.

Minimal selection, but good brands. Everything is super locked down with anti-theft devices, Make shopping annoying when you need to buy a $9 screwdriver and you have to call a staff member to get it off the rack. Prices are significantly higher than other nearby stores, even other Ace hardware stores the next town over. For example a $20 set of screwdrivers was $25, a $10 pair of pliers was $15, a $15 torx driver was $22.

$72.80 you charged me to put mesh in TWO window screens! 😡You sell the kit for $7 which does 2I figured double the price for the labor and saved hassle. One screen had a dented side so a bit to replace that.So I was expecting $10-15 tops per screen.$72.80!!!! Ripped off. I should have left them there. Still mad at myself for not.Do not go to this store (Essington in Joliet)

If you dont want to wander around in a big box store trying to locate a part for a project that needs to be completed in a timely manner this is the place to go. Not only for the part but expert information from the staff. Ive used this place for 20 years and have always been taken care of professionally.

Every time I go to Ace Hardware, I am impressed with the quality of the staff - they are very knowledgeable in all areas of expertise that Ive asked them so far, and they are incredibly friendly. Some of the prices may be a bit higher than the chain hardware stores, but when I really need help and information, this is the only place to go! Ace is also the only place to have keys cut. They get it right every time, which was not my experience elsewhere. All in all, a great place to shop. Im very glad they have stayed true to their motto, Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man. Instead of expanding and going superstore, they cater to local areas and people who want personal, knowledgeable, and helpful service. Thank you!

I usually go to Minooka ace because its close but KinKo had something Minooka didnt.Going in they had a sign on the door about wearing a mask whichI disregarded and EVERYONE in there had one on but it wasnt an issue and a no gun sign which IS an issue so I wont be back.Im sure the people and service is great though.

Great location to pick up exactly the little item you may need to complete a job. I love this place for the fact that if I need a certain type of screw or grommet or fastner or handle, or a propane tank refill, or bottled water for my home dispenser while I am there, etc, etc, etc..... Not only do they usually have it unlike the larger hardware stores such as Menards or Home Depot, but I am not required to buy a pack of a hundred fasteners when I need only one or two. I think this is the reason that when I go into Menards or Home Depot I see a lot of packages of screws, Fasteners, grommets, drill bits, etc etc etc that have been opened and you can tell someone took just two or three out of the box and pocketed them instead of buying the pack of 100 because they only needed two or three. Risky, but some people will do this versus buying the pack of 100. While I can go to Ace and buy the one or two or three individual pieces.The staff here is very helpful not only with the basics such as helping you to find an item. But, also to offer suggestions and advice find a possible job youre working on. More than once I have gone in there looking for something to fix an item at my house and after describing the situation to an employee at this location maybe, the employee has been able to offer alternate solutions to the problem as well as the one solution I came in with. There have been several times where their solution actually was better and / or easier than my own idea in regard to repairing or fixing an item.Also, it is really nice to be able to go into a hardware store that doesnt have 500 miles of Isles. Yes, I am over exaggerating here. But it is nice to be able to just go into here pick up the item I need and get out without having to take a trek and leave bread crumbs from the door and throughout the store to make sure I can find my way out. Spending 45 minutes finding the item and then going through Home Depot, is valuable time I could have used working on the project at hand.Last thing. The staff here is super helpful. Many times Ive been in the larger hardware stores and the person I am talking to has no idea or concept of the project I am working on or the individual tool or item that I am looking for it to complete such project. Doesnt matter how many ways or times I try to describe it in detail, it winds up being a fruitless venture and just time wasted. Not all the time of course no, but I would say its a 50/50 shot.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Each person I encountered, asked if I needed help. As I strolled the store, I saw there was alot offered that one wouldnt have to go to a bigger home improvement store. Its right in the neighborhood.

I needed some pretty unique standard and metric screws of varying sizes and Paul helped me out and found exactly what I needed in a matter of seconds.

Do not shop here for Craftsman tools. They will not exchange unless you have a receipt showing purchase there even though craftsman is life time guarantee.Shop at Lowes. They exchanged no problems.

The manager was very helpful, I spoke with another employee and he wasnt sure about an answer so instead of giving me the wrong answer he found someone who could help me. Unfortunately what I needed wasnt in stock.

Great place for nuts,bolts,screws,and washers. Everything else unless its on sale. Is highly over priced!!! I do like the convenience of them being so close!!! Just wish they had longer hours!!!!
