They offered masks and hand sanitizer right at the door and took notice of us coming into the store. After a couple minutes they politely asked if we needed assistance and since we didnt went on as they were. Every other sales person I came across asked if I needed anything(my words) and all if them smiled at least. It was nice to be acknowledged compared to feeling like you were just looked straight through as if you werent actually there at all. Thank you to the Tuesday evening/closing crew.

I love Joann Fabrics store in Juneau, Alaska, but recently had a guest experience with an employee by the name of Edith that went to great lengths to help me find the right item I was in search of.I was looking for waxed thread, but there was no button thread in stock. Edith not only double checked on the button thread, but also lead me across the store to another item that WAS in stock and actually worked better for my project than the button thread would have!Edith did this with a a smile on her face (the mask hid the smile, but her eyes were smiling!) and with such a happy, helpful attitude that I wished that I could have had something else to have her help me with!!THIS was THE guest experience that made me feel like a very valued customer and will keep me coming back to the Juneau store as often as possible, instead of seeking online options. I just can’t say how much I appreciate her kindness, her cheerful attitude and her help, especially after all the madness and chaos this year has been!!Like a ray of sunshine!!!

I dont go for big box craft stores, and I generally do not like Joann much in any state or region, but frequently find myself shopping here because there arent other options when you need, say, fabric to re-cover your dining room chairs, or a wide selection of picture frames, or sewing notions. And while Ive never had a good experience at any other Joanns Ive been to in my lifetime, I consistently have good experiences here. Everyone who works here is very friendly. Sometimes I walk in and I dont know the name of what I want, and I say something like, Do you have a thingum that does a thingywidget? And the young person I ask takes me through the maze and right to the product I wanted. Amazing! This particular store manages to bring a small town feel to a box store chain, and I appreciate that.

Well stocked, fun place to shop. As of July, 2020 they are having to ask shoppers to line up with limited people inside at any given time, so as long as youre prepared for that shortish possible wait you should still have pretty much the same great experience as always.

I like Joanns because it is the only arts and crafts place I am aware of in Juneau. Of course, the store doesnt offer anything like what Michaels does, but it tries to come close. Prices are high, but thats to be expected in Juneau. Sometimes, the store aisles are not completely stocked with materials you may need, and mostly, youd probably be better off ordering your materials online, but if you dont want to wait for shipping, Joanns should be sufficient enough to provide your needs.

Not as good of a selection as Joann Fabrics Ive been in down south and they always seem to be out of stock on a lot of things. I try to buy local but wind up buying online quite often because I cant get what I need locally. Today it was a simple white paint marker.

I try to be an understanding and level headed lady, but my multiple experiences at this Joann’s have really disappointing and frustrating.I live on an island here in AK and phone ordered a list of items I needed the next time I flew into town, since I live on an island I can’t just stop in. When I got to the store, it was about ~4:45 PM and the store was getting ready to close for the day. I decided to look at a few things with the couple of minutes I had, but was asked (very passive aggressively) to go to the front and check out. I understood and thought that this employee had probably just had a long day, so I tried to be understanding and just go to the front and pick up my phone order.Once I got the front, I told the cashier that in addition to what I was buying, I had called two days before and was there to pick up my phone order. After waiting about 10 mins of them radioing around the store, they said they didn’t have my order. Again, I tried to just give them the benefit of the doubt, they were probably busy and my order must’ve fallen through the cracks.Fast forward to a couple of days later, I called again to re-order the supplies I was needing, since again, I live on Admiralty Island and can’t just stop in when ever I please. My husband went into town and when he got there was treated poorly and still couldn’t find my order. After again radioing around, they finally found it in the back.When my husband flew back home, I was so excited to get the things I had been needing for weeks, only to find that they had missed a huge part of my order that I know I had requested.I really do try to be a kind and reasonable person, but I was really disappointed in not only how unorganized this particular store is (not having my order TWICE), but how rude they treated me and my husband who had literally come from an island to buy from their store.I still enjoy the products Joanns offers, but disappointed at my experiences at this particular store. Which is also a little frustrating that this is the only craft store near me.

It is Joanns yall. Expect to get lost for days with the plethora of crafting supplies you didnt even know existed that you now cant live without. For example miniature clothes pins the size of a quarter... They are on the end of the nugget Mall.

The staff is usually pretty good but lately they have seem to have better things to do than to help customers. I love this store but often feel like a burden when I ask for help or mention the sign had different pricing...the employee at the time didnt even look into it just stared at me with a blank look and asked if I still wanted it. Which I responded no. I guess Ill passWould give 5 stars if this wasnt a weekly occurrence with different employees.
