Great selection. Inviting, well organized store layout. A local favorite for decades. Offers customer appreciation program at no charge with annual dividend payable as in store credit. Helpful sales staff. Pricing is not outrageous, but reflective of the experience provided and the generally high quality of nearly everything in the store. Towards the end of each season, gear that is about to be too warm or too cool for the following season can be found dramatically discounted towards the back of the store.A carefully curated selection of excellent gear from some of the niche brands in outdoor gear which are not as heavily advertised, with excellent materials and production methods employed. Selection rotates to remain seasonally useful specific to the local climate.Helpful sales staff. Mix of gear with the focus clearly being on fishing, hiking, camping, Street running, trail running, Nordic skiing, and light backpacking. Always have a selection of new and innovative gear and toys for camping and backpacking along with the top brands and designs in ultralight backpacking and clever solutions for low elevation Alpine mountaineering and ultralight camping.

Stopped in to upgrade rain gear while visiting Juneau. The staff was tremendously knowledgeable and helpful. I got far better rain gear for Alaskan outdoor adventure conditions than my Marmot gear from REI and at far better prices. The staff made sure all gear we purchased fit properly - ensuring all layers were accounted for. We also purchased awesome waterproof gloves.Great staff, great gear, great prices. Highly recommend!!!

Jacqueline was super knowledgeable on waterproof Keens, and was super friendly even though it was 20 mins till closing. She rocks and my feet are dry and comfortable for work. Thank you.

They have nice top brand stuff (over priced) Ive been going there everytime I come to juneau but yesterday the bald headed guy followed me around like I was going to steal something I still bought some things he was rude when I checked out. Lighten up ****head..Ill never go there again

It is a nice place to go if you want to get clothes and they are very well lable and easy to find. they are not overpriced but I went there to get a jacket and it wasnt there so what Im trying to say is that they dont restock that much. but it is a small store but they have lots of stuff and it doesnt look cramped at all. I would recommend but that one time I went wasnt that good.

Great to support a local business, I have had a great experience when I have talked to them over the phone describing the shoe I need for work because I was in quarentine. And when I got out and was able to go to the store itself they were really helpful. Good prices, great staff.

Great products 🤑 little pricier but not unreasonable. Has all the right rain gear for my son. The star rain suit for recess the hiking back pack carrier is amazing thank you NAO😁 and wonderful staff always so friendly too

I like this place, its just they have a policy that you cant bring in big bags, you have to hang them in between the 2 front doors. But, WILL allow fanny packs. They can be worn inside. Other than that, theyre friendly. 🙂😄☺

I absolutely love the store and every staff member I have encountered. Knowledgeable, incredibly helpful and always friendly.Im sure people talk about how pricey it is...but thats because you buy good stuff once as opposed to replacing your crappy stuff four times...and I feel like Nugget does a great job vetting the products in the store to make sure theyre great before selling and recommending them to customers.

NAO always has the gear I need before I go into the outdoors for a hunt, camping, or fishing trip. Quality gear. But well worth it.

What is it about shopping there. Get asked numerous times, CAN HELP YOU... and so uncomfortable shopping there, cuz they watch u shop around. They act like I dont know what I am looking for. I am done looking in that store.

Good discounts offered to those on their mailing list. They special order for customers what they dont have in stock. Friendly and knowledgeable service provided.

Nugget Alaskan Outfitters is like a small, hometown REI or Mountain Equipment Co-op. They have a great selection of gear for the outdoor enthusiast, from heavy duty rubber rain gear to cycling rain suits to headlamps to kayak paddles to sleeping bags.The prices are not as low as down south, but the gear is here and you can touch and try it on before you buy. And more of the money stays in town. This is my go-to place for outdoor gear and gifts for my active family and friends.

Smaller place than the big REIs, but has just about anything you might want for outdoor activities. Staff is helpful and prices are decent. They also usually have a pretty good clearance section.

Super great customer service from the man working in the shoe department as well as the young man at the front desk. The two gals working there were a bit snoody and pretentious. I wouldnt be so judgemental, but, I myself have worked in outdoor retail for 8 years and most gear shops I have worked in Pride themselves on incredible customer service and friendliness to everyone who walks through the doors, even for large companies like Black Diamond and REI and small businesses like the Goats Beard and IU Outdoor Adventures and Blue Mile. Reminders of great customer service to employees can go a really long way in the amount of business your store makes. But the great gear and customer service from the other two made up for it. Thanks folks!

Wonderful store with amazing service! I was blown away with how helpful they were and their prices were better than the national chain just a couple miles away.

I do construction work for a living. I used to shop at nugget Alaskan Outfitter. I went out there looking for some duckback Carhartt bibs. No luck, they dont sell clothes like that anymore. Their clothing line, caters to the people that go out on a weekend, but not necessarily For the Working Man. Too bad. I never had a problem paying a little extra money for good quality clothing and footgear. Had to start shopping on the internet to get my work clothes. Very disappointing.

Has all the outdoor clothing you could want. Good selection of higher end camping and hiking gear. Their gear can be on the expensive side, however it is mostly top quality.

Fairly expensive gear, but a much wider selection of high quality hunting/hiking gear than other more general stores like Fred Meyers/Costco/etc. Good customer service and a decent annual credit that comes in the form of a letter at the end of the year and is good for 1 year (although you have to bring the physical credit letter into the shop).
