Convenient. Lots of choices and super helpful people working here. The produce is good but not great and my tomatoes were growing moldy the day after I brought them home. My favorite thing was chatting with the cashier Cliff after finishing our shopping, he was goofy in a good way.

Convenient. But $5 Fridays have really gone downhill. I sometimes find the prices marked-up from regular price sub-$5/lb to $5. It pays to check the tags before thinking you have a deal.

Good variety of grocery options. They even have cereal sizes that are between small and single serve, which is great if youre in town for just a few days.

Great pharmacy staff helping us get our sons meds set up when he is away in college more than 3,000 miles away. Great food choices and fresh baked sourdough bread was amazing!

I dont have a Safeway where I live but I am a member so I can get the discounts when they are in the town Im visiting.We found souvenirs here at a much better price than the little shops.

I’m leaving this 5 star review here because other supermarkets are currently rated higher but Safeway was the only one that carried certain items we were looking for.

Went for the first time in years as the produce section used to be very good. Wasnt as good as it used to be.

Very clean and easy to navigate. The pharmacy staff is conscientious and knowledgeable and the cashiers up front are cheerful.

Very polite produce staff! On the other hand, the self checkout female staff in the day time is very pushy. I was fully aware what was in my cart and she was hasseling me about what was in there as I was grabbing them out as fast as I could. She was also pushy with my two year old who was just sitting in the cart seat. Theyre the most expensive grocery store in Juneau. Anyway Juneau has plenty of other stores who respect regular customers just trying to get dinner on the table and Ill be taking my business there.

Get all your groceries and more. Good service, selection of salad mixes was completely wiped out. Get your produce when u see it, it may be your only chance.

Out of all of the grocery stores in Juneau, I choose to shop at Safeway. Its my favorite. From the angled, easy parking for your vehicle outside, to the location of the grocery carts that are easily found once youre through the main entryway doors, to the wide shopping aisles; whats there not to appreciate!?! Im in major like with the flooring this Safeway location has within its fruit and veggie section; and, if there were just two critiques I would suggest it would be these: 1.) That awesome flooring? Spread it throughout the store and allow the whole store to be uplifted by the warm, homey vibe it gives off. 2.) Just as the Wal-Mart in Eagle River, AK tried to tie itself in with the surrounding landscape, by painting its exterior to match that of the surrounding mountains, I feel Safeway could benefit from much the same. An exterior face-lit that incorporates deep, rich browns, dark greens, and is accented by the light, tan color that currently blankets the outside of the building would do wonders for its curb appeal and would compliment the Safeway, red S logo immensely. Other than the above two suggestions, Safeway is by far the best grocery shopping experience, in Juneau, that one could ask for. Short lines that move quickly and far less congestion, (both inside and outside of the store), than Fred Meyers. All of your grocery and pharmecutical needs can be found here, you can grab a Starbucks coffee, eat food from the deli, grab a chair and sit for awhile if youd like. And, if youre a mother, far better to shop where theres less for the kids to eye and desire than at Fred Meyers too. Safeway isnt a super-store, where you have to bypass a gazillion things to purchase your groceries. Its a true grocery store in every sense of the word. Friendly check-out staff, not overly chatty but competent and polite nonetheless; and, if youre a mother (like me) who views grocery shopping as a mini-vacation when not having to cart your kids in tow... Safeway is the place to go! Its quiet, its clean, and less busy than other stores. Part of the reason its less busy is cost per grocery item; but, I would gladly pay pennies on the dollar more to buy from Safeway than a larger chain store like Freddies any day of the week! Ill pay a premium price to go at my own pace, not feel rushed, and to enjoy some quiet where Im not bumping into someone down every aisle I shop. Plus, with the Safeway rewards card there are great grocery prices and deals to be had; and, money off your gas at Safeway too. And, I dont know if its just cause Im partial to Safeway, but the gas I get there lasts and lasts and lasts in comparison to gas I get anywhere else; I guess my vehicle likes Safeway just as much as I do😉

Very nice place for shopping and has very use full labels there is a got food area which is cheap on good.I would recommend the fried chicken. I would recommend this for anything you need to do with food. There is also a pharmacy and you can buy cigarettes (I think)

I live in Hoonah which is a village and all of my children and grandchildren live here in Juneau so I have been able to use my credit card over the phone to help my children to feed them is so important to me!

Safeway is my favorite place to go for freshest produce and amazing floral department. Alaska USA Bank inside store.

They have the things to eat and the things to drink inside this building. And doors. Thats the key, I think...really. The whole concept just wouldnt work without the doors. So...good planning by the original corporate architects, I suppose.

Lots of Covid-19 protocols were enacted for customers and staff, and not in a way that were obviously just done for show. Produce is usually fresh, staff are willing to help, and the store is always clean. Their prices are a little higher, but the store is nicer overall than Fred Meyer (despite FM being way bigger and having newer construction).

Safeway is open till midnight like that part about it,they also offer you an option to get a card to put some money on it and use as a gas card in case of an emergency, its always good to have that emergency gas card on you in case all other gas stations are closed.

Was in and out.. With the new self check out, Safeway is definately top 3 shopping centers here in Juneau there is a wide variety of brand name products.. If you cant find it ask one of the employees.. There wisdom and there dedication to helping you is there main priority.. And they all do just that... Thank you Safeway staff and most of all the employees working the floor..

Susan in the floral department went above and beyond to make a bouquet that was both elegant and reasonably priced. She took direction over the phone and added a touch of professionalism, and beauty that I would not have come up with on my own. I am very thankful for her wonderful customer service, and abilities to make a memory, not just a floral arrangement.

I love Safeway. Big selection and prices are competitive. The deli is almost always fresh and reasonable in price. The bakery is always great and fresh. Lisa Baily is the best bakery manager thats ever been there. The Safeway pharmacy is also awesome. Bob has always gone the extra mile to help me. Bobs staff is always kind and helpful even when they are busy. Safeway has excellent customer service, the store is always clean, and I the truly enjoy shopping there.

More pricey than Fred Meyer. But okay selection of food. Sometimes theres unique items. Especially seasonal and the tourist stuff. They sell Alaskan Beer hoodies which is cool. Theres a Starbucks inside and also an Alaska USA branch. The salad bar is always great but gets pricey with these larger containers. Overall its a good Safeway. And im sure it has the greatest view in the parking lot out of all the Safeways in the US. But make sure to go there during the day. After dark there can be suspicious characters in the parking lot. I do appreciate that they are open until midnight year round. And they have the best deal on loose tobacco in town.

Your typical Safeway, only better. We discovered quite a selection of vintage & old fashioned sodas that were delightful, a variety of items more local & all of the staples we could need, all in one place. Oh, and the prices were lots better than the 24hr store we stopped at after leaving the airport!

Prices are not very good, especially if you do not have a club membership. If it is the closest place on bad roads then it will not be terrible.(better than risking the highway on ice)The customer service is pretty good though.

Locked in. AGAINST FIRE CODE after 9pm. They physically block emergency exits by blocking them with shopping carts. Because your life is less valuable than their loss prevention.

I like there Deli but they dont have good sales and there prices are high for a few extra minutes down the street you can go to Freds and get a much better deal, we live in AK fruit is not going to be the best people especially if your home doesnt have the clement control the stores do (lol)...I pretty much only go here to eat at the Deli which has the best fried chicken in town.

I shop at Safeway all the time for my groceries. I believe the produce selection is better/fresher than what Fred Meyer offers, but the 3 stars come in because Safeway is horrible at keeping items in stock. Still, Safeway is my #1 choice when it comes to grocery shopping.

This review is based on cleanliness. The seating area to eat at is ALWAYS FILTHY!😷😷😷 The tables, floors and microwave. I complained to management and they said they dont have some one on staff to keep it clean and that they just pay someone to come in ONCE a day to clean.😲 That makes NO SENSE AT ALL! I dont even feel comfortable going over there to eat. Its like the whole area is CONTAMINATED! I guess this is what happens when comanies are TOO CHEAP to pay someone to do a job!😒

More expensive than other groceries. So you expect the quality would be good. But they are very limited in produce. I bought a packaged turkey breast and when I opened it the meat was bad even though expiration date said good until next year.

Pharmacy, has everything I need fast service

Ok for most things. Great deli. I dont recommend buying meat here and the produce department really needs help. Other area stores have a much better bakery department. Some items are price comparable, but most can be found cheaper at other stores.

Everyone tells me how great Safeway is all the time and i should go there to shop. I have and i havent had a bad experience yet. The only thing i can say is though, is that how product is paired up in the aisles is kinda confusing. Their deli has a wide variety of choices and their bakery is amazing😎
