Our experience with Shelton and his team was extraordinary. We took our vehicle in for repairs. After determining that the vehicle would cost more to repair than it was worth Shelton worked hard on getting us a vehicle that was truly more than we could have asked for. He also volunteered his own time when our grandson had his vehicle stolen and recovered but was not running well. We are so thankful to have found Shelton. WOW!These guys are really amazing!If youre looking for HONEST, EXPERIENCED, KNOWLEDGEABLE & Humane people to do business with... then Brian & his team are what youve been looking for.We were told by a mechanic at a different shop that our rear brakes needed to be replaced, but that he didnt have time to do the work.So we brought the car to Sheltons Auto Masters & not only did Brian let us know that our brakes were still good for another 5000 miles, but he also fixed our drivers side car door handle that was causing problems for years.(had to roll the window down every time to get out of the car)HE DID ALL OF THIS FOR NO CHARGE !Im so grateful to know that I have someone with so much Aloha that I can depend on.This is the kind of business that we want to support in our community.

We choose this shop because of their ratings and much to our disappointment received less than professional service for our sons car. After having the car for six weeks and no communication on the status, the repair to the steering wasn’t even touched. When driving it off the lot and onto the high way, we had to immediately turn around and take it back as the steering locked up! We are so fortunate our son noticed it right away and wasn’t in an accident or killed due to it being the steering! Not only was it not repaired, we were told by the owner (Brian) he hadn’t test drove it even though he told our son he did while taking his deductible. Strike one. Then the car was held for an additional week and when I called (and then hung up on intentionally) was told by another service tech the part had just come in and was going to take yet another week. I was lied to again with them telling me that they just called to tell my husband all I was told already. Strike two. Last and ultimately the nail in the coffin was holding the car yet another week (still no communication) and my son being notified an hour before they closed on a Friday making it another weekend with still no car. I would be rating differently had there been better communication and no lying about the status, but I’m sure anyone else needing a rental car on island that’s costing as much as a house payment could relate to our huge disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone looking for honest and timely repairs.

Hard to find a car business that has Integrity, Honesty and over the top service these days......and Sheltons Auto Masters really has it.My sisters car had a huge Jacaranda tree fall on top of it. The insurance said it was totaled.Brian and his crew at Sheltons Auto Masters repaired it to like new condition.Ive never seen anything like it. Brian Shelton personally advised on all aspects of the claim and repair process. Excellent quality repair work and outstanding customer service. You cant do better on Maui.

Brian Shelton and the team at Shelton’s are fantastic. They really know what they are doing. I needed my car repaired on a very tight timeline. For most shops the type of repair and short timeline would have been impossible. Brain knew my time restrictions and made it happen. I know they put in some long hours to get it done. The quality did not suffer at all due to the tight time frame. In fact, the quality of the work was top notch. These guys are pros and as a bonus very friendly and really make you feel valued as a customer.

Our daughter decided to take a gap year before college and move to Maui. She worked to pay for her 8-12 month stay there. She had to find her own apartment and, worse yet, find an affordable used car. Initially, she went to a used car lot. I won’t say which one, but it was a disaster. After test driving three cars, which were shaking as though each transmission was about to fall off, she was pretty stressed. Buying a used car for anyone is stressful; especially an 18 year old. Prior to used car shopping, we had called for quotes from Maui mechanics to do a pre-purchase used car inspection. We were impressed with Brian from Shelton’s Auto Masters. Long story short, Brian had several vehicles at his business. After the debacle of shopping at the used car lot, my daughter decided to test drive Brian’s 2009 car. It didn’t shake. The car had great a/c, etc. We got the car for a very reasonable price. Brian changed the spark plugs, air filter, oil, and detailed the car. Total customer service. This was all after we agreed to purchase it. Brian, the owner, talked about integrity to our daughter. It was very nice to find a mechanic who stands by the reputation of HIS name at HIS business. If you’re looking for an auto mechanic who stands by his work, I would definitely stop by Brian’s shop first. Brian treats you like a person, not a number. We were very impressed. As a busy working parent, I don’t write many reviews, however these days it is not often you come across someone who has old school work ethic and integrity. Thank you. I wish you continued success.

Without a doubt the best mechanic Ive ever been to. I had to get my brakes replaced and was given a quote that was hundreds of dollars less than other shops on the island. Brian walked through every charge with me and didnt push me into getting other minor repairs that my car could use. Definitely a champion of the people kind of guy. I must say, that Brian and his crew of mechanics are by far the best mechanics I have found on this island in my 10 years of living here. They do quality work, and have very reasonable prices. In fact he gave me a quote before working on my car, and after he was done it was much less than the original quote because the mechanics did speedy work. Owner,, Brian Shelton is amazing. His automotive knowledge & experience is unsurpassed. Services he provided to me, a first time customer was extraordinary and not expected. Upon satisfactory completion of the original service order the car had a problem that had not been declared in the service order. Upon returning the car to Brian and after he and his staff could not determine the problem, Brian was sure that he DID KNOW the solution to the malfunction. Against the advice of his mechanic, Brian spent nearly $1,000 on the part. After installation the performance of car was unchanged. The other mechanic had his laugh and said I told you so! Brian still knew better, allowed the cars computer to adjust to the new part.Brian charged me only $150.00, the car runs like it is brand new.I will not go elsewhere for service!!!

Brian is by far the best mechanic on Maui that I have met. He did a great job on our 2002 Lexus that had the front in smashed in from a collision. At Brians shop I felt good and confident that our car is in good hands. He works very well with people and there situations. Thank you Brian! Oh my! Brian and his crew are absolutely amazing! I took my black Porsche Cheyenne Hybrid car in for a door ding and another small dent. They were so thourough, that they found a few more dents when completing the work and even took care of those for me (didn’t bill me any extra!) When I went to get the car - it was detailed and looking good! PS-the black paint they used blended in so nicely and they didn’t cheap the job-they repainted the entire door and did things right! Boom!! ;)

I needed some repairs done on my truck and its difficult to find time to bring a work truck in to the shop.. well I was headed home for the holidays and Sheltons was able to pick up the truck from the airport, repair everything I asked for, and pick me up from the airport when I returned! all for a totally reasonable price! I had a great experience at Sheltons Auto Masters. They presented a professional and reasonable quote, and fixed my air conditioning fast while I worked at a coffee shop around the corner from their shop. I will definitely use them for all my vehicle needs going forward and am already recommending them to friends! So nice to find an auto repair shop that you can trust.Update 11/9/15: I brought my car to Sheltons for an oil change recently. I went to Maui Coffee Roasters around the corner to kill some time. As luck would have it, when the shop called to say my car was ready, it started pouring rain. As I walked out the door and prepared myself for a wet walk back to the shop, Brian Shelton pulled up in my car! Now thats service!! Love these guys.

I had an excellent experience taking my vehicle to Sheltons Auto Masters. The air conditioning in my car died and I was shopping around for a mechanic who knew what they were doing and wouldnt charge me an arm and a leg for repairs. I met with Brian, the owner and head master mechanic and told him what happened and how I tried to have the a/c fixed in which it ran cold for 4 days then died for sure this time. Brian asked me to pop the hood and began to inspect the components. He generously explained how the system functions, which I personally appreciate knowing for future instances. He quickly diagnosed the faulty parts and called the parts stores for estimates and availability. Brian called around to the local parts store and ended up speaking with dealer parts and got the estimated costs for the needed parts. They were the only ones who had the parts in stock but not in Hawaii and would take about a week to arrive. No surprise there. I gave Brian two deposits to cover the parts and a little of the labor costs. A week later the parts came in, Brian and his associate master mechanics did the repairs and reenergized the a/c system in about two hours. To my surprise and delight, Brian told me that one of the parts was still functioning good and didnt need to be replaced now and he said that he will be returning $193 (I rounded-up). I drove away extremely satisfied with the work they did, the quality service, information, and the knowledge Brian gave freely and truly happy to be driving in cool/cold comfort. Thank you to Brian and James!! I highly recommend Sheltons Auto Masters for repairs and at a fair price.

A friend of mine recommended Sheltons because of the great experience he had with them. I can agree 100%! Not only did he save me over a thousand dollars, (I was quoted $1800 dollars from a competitor) he fixed my door in about 30 minutes! Looks great and works perfectly now! He was also quick, professional and honest, something rare to find when it comes to auto repairs. I would recommend this shop to anyone in need of repairs.

I brought im my Honda accord for a paint job, had a tiny dent too, they found more scratches on my front and rear bumper and they took care of everything with no additional fee! Exceptional work and phenomenal customer service!I called 4 places before I called Sheltons, they all went to voice mail, had to have someone call me back or were not open. I work until 4:00 and evething was closed. Sheltons auto not only was open and answered the phone but were always available after my hours. They worked with my insurance company and made sure that everything was covered. I didn’t have to worry about a thing.When I went to pick up my car, I was like”is that my car?” It looked absolutely wonderful, Brian Shelton is hands down the best painter on the island. We came to Sheltons late in the day with a serious rental car problem. I could see that they were super busy but Brian said hed take care of us. Dang...did he ever save our bacon. Putting our car up on the rack it was easy for him to see that the previously damaged undercarriage was was rented to us ready to fall down. I deliberately bought a Maui Cruiser (a run-down beat-up car with issues) because I knew that even after I made the repairs needed (and there was a bunch) it would still be cheaper than paying top-dollar for a CPO car. How did I know? Because the awesome crew over Sheltons Auto Masters were going to (a) do an excellent job and make my truck run excellent and (b) do it at a reasonable price. And that is precisely what happened. My car is not much to look at, but it runs perfectly and nobody bothers messing with it.Ive also seen what they do with classic car restoration and high-end paint jobs, and the word that comes to mind is GENIUS... ** 5 STARS isnt ENOUGH **Truly - there isnt enough accolades that I can give for the overall service we have received from Sheltons. This shop is BUSY - and I understand why. The owner Brian (who I always called Shelton and only recently realized it wasnt his 1st name) goes OUT of his way to explain everything; to give a FAIR and REASONABLE quote; does his BEST to stick to the promised timeframe; is HONEST and isnt trying to pull the wool over your eyes; and is in general, just an ALL-ROUND NICE GUY - who KNOWS CARS!! ALL CARS!! He also has a compassion for people that you simply RARELY find today -especially in the service industry and even LESS in the automotive repair industry. And lets face it -- when your car suddenly goes on the fritz..and you are stranded without transportation... besides needing someone reliable and trustworthy -- someone with compassion certainly does A LOT to make a difficult situation so much easier to handle. Initially my experience with Sheltons was not good, as I brought my vehicle in for a diagnosis, and after telling me what I needed to do to fix the problem and charging me for the diagnosis, I went home and replaced the part they suggested, but it did not fix the problem. I went back and spoke to Brian with my complaint, and he promised me that he would personally work on the issue until it was resolved. I made an appointment and brought the vehicle back in, and he was a man of his word, and got the problem fixed. Although my experience was initially frustrating, Brians willingness to make things right is much appreciated, and I wont hesitate to give him my business in the future and recommend Sheltons to my friends.

Just purchased SLK 230 convertible from Brian Shelton. This car has been taken care of with great detail. I will defiantly be back for him to service the car for future maintenance!

Met with Brian regarding my 2010 Sonata which FICOH and Geico both would have totaled due to damage.Brian gave me a fair estimate and I ended up collecting $4200 for damages-- and got to keep my car, which in fact runs fine and remains totally safe to drive!

I didn’t know mechanics like Brian Shelton existed. I had a complicated problem with the entire back end of my car- axle, wheels, cvs, the whole bit- and I’d had several people tell me what “needed” to be done. Brian was honest, super kind, communicative, did a kickass amazing job and even loaned me a car while he did it! I am so glad i took my Kia Soul to him and not someone else. Everything is proper, all parts authentic.
