I had researched book stores near the area and this came up. The pictures dont do it justice. At first I was a bit confused where I had to park because I was excited. Once I parked in the back I noticed people walking from one part of the bookstore to what I thought was a house next door. Before opening the door there was a sign that said Speak friend and enter, and I felt like home. This place makes you feel cozy and invites you in. I was impressed when I opened the door. The walls were covered with bookshelves with used and new books. If youre lucky enough like I was you will be followed by a beautiful curious cat while you browse around. Used books had a reduced price but they had great quality. They also had antique books and a small section for classics in different languages. I loved that they had chairs for people to sit comfortably and read a little. They also have a little area where you can find notebooks, among other gifts you can give someone beside a good book. I greatly appreciated that you can put the books you are interested near the cash register and let them know that you are still browsing. They will put a small sign on top of your books so they dont get put away and you dont have to be carrying them around the books around. It was fun to go down the stairs and still have books on the way down to see. And I still had to go next door! They had a wide variety of books for teenagers and children too! There was a local writer presenting and selling her book that day so it was interesting to see they promote and help local writers. In relation to that, there was also a good section from local writers and Michigan history. I really enjoyed the experience and really liked how the people treated me. You can see the passion in their work and how much they want to help you find what you need. Lastly, I greatly appreciated how I was able to take my time without being followed. I know it sounds silly, but I take a long time to see everything and choose, which means I often get followed in stores by employees. I was able to browse everywhere and choose all the books I wanted. They also ordered a book that was not available. I am very satisfied with the experience and the purchase.

Great local bookstore. Its clear they love books. My son has been asking to stop for ages. I thought it was tiny and specialty. I was blown away at how big it is and all the parking in the back. It feels like you are driving through a backyard, but then it opens up to a parking lot. It is so extensive they have another building on the other side of the walk way. I quite enjoyed reading a new find in one of the chairs while my son found some books he had been looking for for years.

Amazing local bookstore. Radio, the stores cat and icon, is more than happy to welcome you to the basement level. And John is a book wizard - his knowledgeable recommendations abound! 10/10.

I just ordered a book that was very special to me in my childhood. It was written in the 30s. I had already ordered it from other places and it came totally trashed, but was so excited to see that this one came in such incredibly wonderful shape. Thank you! Thank you! Surprisingly I had never been here before. I came to pick up a package Ups dropped off and I stumbled upon a Toy Story book I knew my children would love. It was only $5! My children loved it and I plan on going back to get more books and the soy candles. The girls working were super friendly too.

Extremely friendly and helpful folks. If they dont have the book your looking for they will order it for you. They also have comfy chairs to relax in. Also they have the coolest and friendly cat a real love bug. My grandson wanted to stay and pet the cat. You should stop in find a book and a comfy chair and maybe pet one soft kitty.

I could spends hours in here looking at everything they have, and plan to do so on a return visit soon. Quiet, cozy bookstore, excellent staff, and they have a cat! Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone

Amazing selection of new and very nice used books. Definitely a great place to check out if youre looking for an older or hard to find book. Staff are friendly and helpful but are happy to let you browse on your own, and the atmosphere is very cozy.

The guy at the counter and the lady who helped us were both very helpful and nice. The selection is really good, and if they happen to no have the stuff that you are looking for, they can order it for you and you can pick it up. One of the best parts was the cat. The cat was super sweet and fun, and just added to the feel I suppose.

Stopped by to pick up an UPS package and was pleasantly surprised by the inside and atmosphere of the bookstore. After looking around, they definitely have more than enough books and feature local Michigan authors. ALSO, to top it all off, there is a cat that lives in the store that is very friendly and looking to be pet.

They have all kinds of books from murders to dragons and knights down the beat cookbook. I have have gotten a couple of books here and if the dont have it they will order it for you and it is in about a week. Love the place and very reasonable price.

Amazing selection where you can find just about anything. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Its a very quiet, cozy atmosphere with books literally in every corner so if youre not looking for something in particular, its nice to explore and discover something new. Prices are very fair and youre bound to find what you need.

AMAZING!I only got through about 3/4 of the main floor, then the clerk asked if I had checked out the Other floors...Well organized & fairly priced; good mix of used & new.

If you have been frequenting the big box book stores, youre missing out. I have passed by this place hundreds of times, and always wondered what it was like. My daughters and I decided to stop in one day and we are so incredibly glad we did. The prices here are roughly half or slightly over half of what the prices are in the big book stores. The selection is not as massive, but you can find some real gems in here that you cant find anywhere else. Looking for something special, they can order it. They just recently expanded to the building next to them, available by walkway connecting the buildings, and have added an extensive YA collection, and excellent Manga and graphic novel selection that is growing constantly. I walked out with a book, my oldest daughter talked with one of the ladies there and instantly connected with her and found some things she wanted, and my youngest ordered a brand new Manga shes been looking for. The people here are honestly some of the nicest, friendliest people youll ever meet. They love what they do and it really shows in the excitement they display when they are helping you. Very highly recommended. I know for me and my daughters, they have made 3 new lifetime customers.

I very much like to go to Kazoo Books II! They carry almost any genre you could want. They have five levels in two buildings, and you can easily spend an afternoon exploring.

Kazoo Books is wonderful. It is a shopping gem in Kalamazoo that I always bring visitors to. They have an ever expanding collection, they are involved with readers in the community, and they put the extra touches to sell products that many places may not. For instance, they have expanded into a comics section in their annex. I am not a huge comics guy (but I appreciate them) but I appreciated how they packaged editions together and sold them at a flat price that is totally reasonable. For instance, they had a collection of the highly sought after DC Crisis on Infinite Earths for an unbelievably low price. The staff are friendly and somethimes they are open to chat. I like rare and weird books and theyve got that too. I never feel judged for buying that super nerdy sci-fi novel, a cheap pulp novel for the cover, or that next gem for my non-mainstream spirituality/psychology collection. Go here and support them, they even host book clubs. Hats off to Kazoo Books!
