We were almost scammed by online junk. They wanted $400 to fix our computer. I took it here and paid $40!. They were a wealth of information about whats needed for this type of scam (ad blocker) and other information needed. Ive been a customer for over 10 years. They are quick to help.

This place was awesome. I had an old system with a broken $6 plastic part. I expected Id have to order it online. But my friend suggested I try this place. Sure enough, I was there 10 minutes and had my 8 year-old part. Wow. Its like walking into nostalgia. Classic games in all the walls. Love this place.

They charge you $39 up front for diagnosis of your computer. That goes towards your total bill. My son built a gaming computer and it kept shutting down. They ran diagnostics and found it was the power supply. Total bill $39. Anyone else would have charged us a lot more. I have been bringing my computers here for 20 years, never have they taken advantage of me. I trust World of CD ROM.

These people are absolute scammers and I do not recommend giving them a penny. They had my computer for two months and I still have a broken computer and have lost money. They told me I would need a new computer because the motherboard was fried. I went into the shop to pick up my new rental laptop as well as my old, broken computer. Ryan gave me the new computer and tried to give me a HP that wasnt mine.. I told him it was not my computer, and my new computer did not have Microsoft like it was supposed to. He got Microsoft on it and went to look for my TOSHIBA computer. No luck.. He said he would call me when he found it.I waited 3 days until I called them (this happened EVERY time.. they say they will call, but never do!!!). Jay answered the phone and said he had my HP computer there for pick up. I explained to him I brought in a TOSHIBA, not an HP. Jay kept arguing with me, saying a man has mistaken his computer for the wrong type before also. He said Maam, I turned your computer on in front of all the employees and it is your name and a picture of you with your family that comes up. This is your HP.I asked if maybe my hard drive from my Toshiba got transferred to that HP. He said that would not have happened because that takes a very long time and they dont do that.I called back later when I figured out the exact model of my Toshiba. Ryan was very nice and called within a few hours to tell me he had found my Toshiba in the RECYCLING. I asked him to run a diagnostic test on it again to be sure that what they had said was wrong with the computer the whole time was actually wrong with the Toshiba and not the HP. He said he would call me back at the latest the next day.Next day 4:00 rolls around and of course, no call.. So I call Ryan and he tells me the diagnostic test showed something similar to the HP but not as bad. This whole time they had my computer mixed up... I refused to have them do anymore work on my computer and got it out of that shop ASAP.I feel sorry for the owner of the HP, or Im wondering if they just told me my Toshiba was broke and should be recycled just so I had to get a new computer and they could use my Toshiba to refurbish and sell...DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! ITLL SAVE YOU MONEY, TIME, STRESS, AND ENERGY TO STAY AWAY!

When our laptop stopped working we visited a few places to get quotes. We decided on World of CD-ROM as they were very straight forward. We dropped it off Monday morning. When they had learned what was wrong with the laptop, they took the time to learn about our needs and gave us a few options to choose from. We decided to go with a new desktop system instead of another laptop and it really is a better fit. We picked it up last night after work and we are very pleased. They saved all of our files and programs and now they are on the desktop. We really appreciate the time they took and how quickly our issue was resolved. We highly recommend this shop.

These people are scammers and will rip you off.I took my laptop for repair on Nov 27, I was charged $39.99 for initial diagnose, which was fine. After a few days they called me and told me that battery is bad plus another part needs to be replaced. and will cost me another $99. I told them go ahead and replace the parts as long as my Laptop will be fixed. Yesterday, on Dec 19, I picked up my laptop. They charged me $190.04 and still laptop is not fixed. These people are scammers. I will never go back to them and will tell everybody do not go to Word of CD-ROM. I will also send my complaint to Better Business Bureau of Kalamazoo

In over the 10 years I have been using them, they are the best. They are over worked and I understand sometimes it may take a few days, but I have always gotten my computer back within 5 days. And the service fee are more within the normal for the area. These guys can talk at any level experience. They are honest about the cost. They try to get work in the same day as they know I have run up from Coloma. They have built 2 PC desktops, and have the parts my son needs for upgrading his computer himself.

My fiancee went to World of CD ROM just to order a new charger for my computer. He brought in the computer AND the charger with him (youd think itd pretty much be impossible to screw something this simple up, right? I mean, it is your JOB and you do it every day for a living...) and told them he needed a new charger. They said fine, they put in the order and said we swould get it in 1-2 business days. They printed out a receipt on computer paper that just had the total and our order number on it. I would like to mention that nowhere on this receipt did It say that our order was considered a special order, and the clerk did not verbally tell him this at any point during their conversation, either. But apparently because they didnt have it in stock it was considered a special order, even though they neglected to inform us of this.So 4 days later we still havent heard from them, we call to check on our order and they say now it will be 3-5 business days, not 1-2 anymore. Which was irritating. They didnt even bother to apologize or even try and explain the delay. We originally placed our order on MARCH 8, our charger finally came on MARCH 17TH. How does 1-2 business days turn in to 9 days later? But the worst was yet to come. They completely screwed up and ordered the wrong charger, we discovered this when we got home and tried to use it. So we immediately bring it back to them. By this time we are completely fed up with them and their terrible customer service and all we want is our money back so we can just order it ourselves. At this point the clerk informs us that our order was indeed a special order and so he will not give us a refund or any kind of exchange. He basically gave us the option to let them order the right one directly from Toshiba or call it a loss and walk away without our money. Even after we showed them the receipt and let them know that no one EVER said it was a special order and that it was their mistake, so why should we have to deal with this any further? But we le them go ahead and order the charger from Toshiba. We asked them could we please come to a compromise and would they spend the extra few bucks to get express shipping since this was their fault and we were supposed to get this charger a week ago. They refused to even do this for us, even though the whole thing was their fault and they were aware I needed the charger for work ASAP and expected to have it a week ago. They could not have possibly cared less. It was the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life.So since they refuse to pay for the express shipping (because who cares about making your paying customers happy so they return, right?) they told us ordering from Toshiba would take 3-5 business days. This was March 17. Today is March 27 and my charger JUST arrived today, 10 days later. This means it took THREE WEEKS just to get a simple laptop charger from these people because they have no idea what they are doing. When we picked up the charger and expressed how disappointed we were with their customer service and the treatment we received their response was literally Im sorry you feel that way, bye. No apology, no express shipping, no NOTHING. They obviously do not care about making their customers happy or keeping their word. So unless you want to wait for computer parts for forever and be treated like crap I suggest you stay far, far away from this place.

We bought a refurbished computer(tower) Nov 2014 for $300. We were told that theirs would last longer than a new one at a box store. We went back there because we did buy a new one from there 10 years ago and it lasted quite awhile. Here it is 7 mos later and it is dead, the motherboard. That is like buying a car in which the engine goes not long after. There is no warranty past 3 mos, only more money they want to charge.I think they call this a lemon. Now I am finding that this is a common thing with them. They use bad motherboards. They have bad customer service, they could care less if you return. You are nothing to them. Save yourself some grief and money so you dont have to check your mail from the library, go to the box store. Go somewhere else. I would never trust them again.Heather Koehler

Everything in the store Ive ever seen has been extremely overpriced and largely outdated. When asked about a sound card, they said the model was priced more than the tag said. I looked up and showed them neweggs price for the same part, which also noted had been discontinued for years, and they stood by their price. I walked out and never been back since.

I have never bought a piece of hardware here that hasnt been bad or broken. Everything in the store is outdated and hugely overpriced, the store itself is a cluttered mess, the salespersons are unprofessional and dont know enough about technology to work there (I am a 4.0 GPA CIS major; I know what Im saying here), and everything in the store is at least three to five years old.AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS. You will be robbed blind for items that dont work and which wont be accepted for return.
